STUPID QUESTIONS THREAD:
I'll start because I am stupid.
When a biomedical article says:
"NC6 Acids"
What does that mean?

thanks but the article says acidS
I'm assuming it's a type of acid.
What does the 6 mean?

Hey I started learning Python from the online Google developers' course. Been at it for a couple of weeks now.
A friend (the one who convinced me to take on the challenge and learn it) has invited me to a hackathon.
I generally understand what a hackathon is, roughly, but I am trying to vision how it will be there and what I will find myself doing; he believes it will be a great environment and help me learning and developing - do you agree?
What things should I keep in mind when I go?
How can I make the most of it and find the most leverage that will help me improving and learning programming?
How to become a programmer, for 4chan degenerates:
Step 1: watch some videos about a single programming language.
Step 2: participate in a hackathon.
Let me guess, you're one of these people who thinks that computer science isn't a real science.

Wrong anon is wrong.
I don't think I'll put more effort into replying to you than saying that everyone starts off somewhere.

I study physics and will be applying to Cambridge in a years time.
What extracurriculars can I do for Physics?
if I was an engineer i could build stuff in my free time, if I was an artist I could paint stuff or visit galleries, but what physics related personal projects can I undertake to boost my UCAS form?
It doesn't really matter. Just know your shit. Also, go for Oxford if you want just pure physics without any chem shit.

so is homosexuality a birth defect?
It's an evolutionary glitch.
anecdotal background account:
>25
>fucked 12 women
>fucked 4 dudes
It seems like everybody likes dicks and pussies, if not the look then the feel, if not the person then just the unit.
Harmless glitch in the system. Doesnt hurt the species so it never got taken out

Have Astronomers Found Alien Megastructures After All?
Scientists deny that comets were the reason of the deem. So what is that, Sci?
Any takes?

>Have Astronomers Found Alien Megastructures After All?
NO

Noise / Instrument error
The way the light intensity / time curves fluctuates is pretty random and erratic. You would think advanced aliens would have some sense of order if they had built superstructures around the star's orbit.
what if Dark Matter was actually aliums megastructures with some kind of invisibility field?
It seems obvious that any advance civilazation doesn't want to be found by civilizations too different from itself for coexistence
Hey I am looking for Huffman algorithm implementation on ternary tree.

Why hasn't some chemist come up with a clean burning alternative that would work in existing engines? They'd be set for life
>>7792844
Sure, just combine O2 and H2 in your car and report back.
If it doesn't work, you can take it up with GM, Chrysler, etc. Why oh why haven't they brought this to market?
>>7792844
Why can't we create something that provides vast amounts of energy with no negative ramifications?
Its a conspiracy Op. Jews and shit.
>>7792844
Wasn't there a guy who did just that and then was offered by oil companies a million dollars or so to keep his technology to himself and when he rejected the money he was assasinated and all of his notes and diagrams suddenly went missing?
Is perpetual motion with magnets possible? If so, I would very much like to make a mini generator for a self-powering robotic insect-on-wheels type thing. I have seen some youtube videos, not sure if I believe, but if someone knows of an easy to recreate design that is/can be made small that would be great. I know I can use solar power but this would be better.

Magnets, how the fuck do they work?

Discussion:Does porn and masturbation affect IQ?
Why would it?
>>7792235
Whether porn causes any social changes is something you could possibly debate, but I don't understand how seeing a naked woman would make you smarter/stupider.
And unmarried people fap in every society. I'd be willing to bet at least 90-95% of historically significant researchers did (outside of a handful of autismal oddities like Paul Erdos)

Probably for a few days.
