NOW THATS HOW YOU END AN ALBUM
Obvious answer.
Good Times Are Killing Me reminds me of driving home through the mountains for Christmas with my brother when we were in college.

You want dark synthpop? You could probably do well by The Cure - Disintegration; Depeche Mode - A Broken Frame; New Order - Power, Corruption, and Lies.
>>68718398
I guess some Simple Minds, Gary Numan and OMD have similar dark vibe
give this a try. it's a little amateurish and uneven compared to Depeche Mode but it's still an interesting record.

Something you've heard before
It needs to be fairly fresh. Very fresh is best, but you it can help to know whether or not you will click with it. So something that you've clicked through a bit after downloading but not otherwise touched would be good.

This is a shoutout to all the lurkers
those of you that've been here before 2009, '10, '11
do you still look forward to the next album?
what's the trick?
After dipping around, there's this slump I'm sure you've experienced.
Albums start sounding the same. Genres become unoriginal.
When did you start enjoying music again? Or are you stuck in purgatory as well?
The worst part is realizing that discussing music with the majority of people is just dropping names until there's a "wow you know them as well" and a "great to know we have such taste together" and the infamous "I remember listening to that long ago, wasn't memorable."
I still love music and all, but for me the most depressing thing about listening to so much of it is that nothing surprises me or sounds new anymore. I never get that blissful feeling that I'm listening to something new and exciting, it seems like I've heard everything before.
I try to listen to new genres when I'm in a slump though and it usually helps.

>you will never have that first album listen back, ever.
which album would you choose?
>>68717931
You have to look for the ones that are timeless to you.
Sometimes I can't believe I've listened to the same albums for the past 5 years, inbetween searching for new ones
It's impressive, if anything

Swear it, be mad, I don't care. Your album is NOT better than the Grimes' albums. Prove me wrong.

Would anybody actually buy a record from somebody's bandcamp page, if they enjoyed the music? I'm thinking about having some records pressed. They would probably be around $20 to purchase. Would anybody pay that for an underground, "literally who" band? I don't want to waste my money ordering records if nobody actually pays for them.
>>68717267
Well when you play live, do people ask about merch?
>>68717291
We don't play live. We all live in different cities. We release our music online. I work in a record store, though. I might be able to sell a few through the store.

Roger looks really good for 70. Dude's buff.
>“The sadness for me is that rock has reached a dead end... the only people saying things that matter are the rappers and most pop is meaningless and forgettable.” Daltrey added, “You watch these people and you can’t remember a bloody thing.”
But pop was never good. You think back in The Who's prime that the Carpenters had any more substance than pop of today?
>>68717366
No, but pop music had some good musicians back in the 60s and 70s. Now, there is probably only a handful
>song title is the first thing said in the song
>song title is repeated multiple times
>>68716939
>song title is the hook
>song title randomly comes in much later in the song when you least expect it/when you don't even care about the song anymore
It's much more lame.
