I decided I'd finally like to spend way more money than I have to on the music I want to listen to.
So, /mu/ what are some good middle-line turntables that aren't huge or break the bank? None of that cheap hipster shit.
>>68715394
Audio Technica ATLP120
or if you're willing to spend a bit more: Pro-Ject Debut Carbon II
Avoid anything that's affordable and brand-new, they all suck in terms of what you get vs what you pay for.
So go to eBay and look for a midrange 80s turntable from one of the big Japanese manufacturers, or a late-70s Phillips. Avoid the over-hyped and overpriced vintage meme turntables, and buy something that's reliably mid to high range and in good shape and built in Europe or Japan. They're cheap used, and their build quality curb-stomps anything you can buy new today for under $1000.
P-mount turntables are better for easy out-of-the-box use, but standard mounts give you more flexibility in terms of cartridge upgrades. With a decent midrange cartridge though, there won't be any appreciable difference in sound quality though.

Yeah I've been looking already on eBay and finding a lot of overpriced shite marketed to people who wouldn't know better. Thanks for the tip.

Why these immature (both emotionally and artistically) """music""" listeners allowed to post on /mu/? Can't we at least have a containment thread?
>why are people allowed to like things i don't like
Please chug Bleach OP.
Did you know epic is a real word with a real meaning? It's not just a meme!
>>68715186
Epic is literally a fine word to use in that way: https://www.google.com/search?q=epic+define&oq=epic+define&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l5.2906j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
>adjective
1.
of, relating to, or characteristic of an epic or epics.
"England's national epic poem Beowulf"
synonyms: heroic, long, grand, monumental, Homeric, Miltonian
"a traditional epic poem"
Why are so many reviews in spanish on RYM? Shouldn't they be fixing their third world country instead of analyzing music? Leave cultural critique to prosperous nations like the united states please.

Why do avant garde babies always fawn over Swans? They are entry level at best.

I know that they lack most in quality, but the album Ten thousand fists (and specially the song Land of Confusion) was such a great listen to me, any recs?
literally just listen to faith no more from their angel dust album
>>68714978
This. Angel Dust was the fucking blueprint that ALL pop-metal bands from 1999-2005 made great careers for themselves ripping off.
The fact that it was half a Thick As A Brick-style Mr Bungle-tinted parody album seems to be lost on all the bands who went on to copy it.
Also, while I hope otherwise, just in case you're like those people who think "It's My Life" was a Gwen Stefani song, here's a reminder that the original Land of Confusion ran circles around disturbd's uninspired cover.

Is that a real quote from a girl that actually talked to your lonely ass?
What's wrong with saying that? Does she have to sit there and detail everything for you? With that description she may be a big fan of Boris, Coltrane, Tim Hecker, Kate Bush, who knows it could be anyone
My gf is a fan of all those artists and genres and when we met she started out claiming to be a big fan of NMH and The Shins because we hadn't acquainted enough for her to know I would like that shit too. Trying going outside more OP you airheaded buffoon
>>68714886
Frank Sinatra and Beyonce are both artists who have made a lot of good music
Is your criteria for music solely how obscure it is??
Does /Mu/ like this album?
