ITT: Bands that made a great leap in quality between albums.
Ride the Lightning --> Master of Puppets is an example of this. Ride the Lightning is a great album but MoP is a fucking masterpiece.

Kill Em All > Ride The Lightning >>> Master of Puppets
A tremendous leap backwards in quality.
MoP > AJFA = RtL > DM > KEA > L = RL > s/t > SA

They hate her too much. Why? It's a mystery.
B-but /mu/ loves Grimes, there's just a few haters that try to ruin the threads, and now the mods are fucking up everything because they're too lazy to identify the posts that should be deleted
Grimes is pretty average. I like most of her work but way less ground breaking than people want to say she is
Does anyone else not like how he cares so much about catering to his fans? In Not Afraid he makes fun of himself for experimenting on Relapse, and then he makes an entire forced album trying to recapture the magic of MMLP because the fans hated the last album too. Why can't he own the fact that he made a controversial album? Relapse was great. Also it's funny he tried to make a MMLP sequel with a song featuring Rihanna, when on the original he had a whole song about blasting mainstream artists and pop singers.
I think he just does whatever the fuck he wants to do
what erks me is hes completely ditched the artists he came up with, 50 and the rest of gunit, obie, d12 etc, and has completely replaced them with female pop singers and whiny faggots
he completely ruined the name of MMLP by naming that sucky album after it to try and cater to his old fans, and ruined its legacy in the process. i also hate his fucking annoying scatty, messy flow hes been using for the past few years, he sacrifices the replay value of a song by trying too hard to show off how clever he is with wordplay and rhyming structures. yes we know you can rap eminem, you dont have to fucking prove yourself anymore. just make a song that sounds good, stop with this stuttery, messy ass flow just to fit in some cliche bars.
its also pretty cringe when he tries to make controversial lyrics like he did back when he was on drugs, but its just so forced and unbearable.
like many, i loved eminem and i still will always have a lot of respect for his earlier work. but i just want him to get back on the valium and make some decent songs again with other rappers on the hook, put aside the pop shite, stop trying too hard with wordplay and make a song that sounds good
AOTY?

Really kid, it's not that funny.
A Wizard, A True Star by Todd Rundgren sounded really good the last time I was really hungover. So did most twee pop

Oh my lord OP you're so fucking cool I don't think my boipussy can handle this much quivering.
I don't know what hungover people listen to I'm only 18. Try this.

>removing a huge bunch of grimes threads
>keeping threads like pic related on page 1
now go ahead and tell me how their intentions are to make them all music related
the janny must be some grimeshater that got the job
denounce him to hiro
yolandi actually makes decent music tho
plus her tummy is nicer
I don't even care what their reason is, as long as they remove the grimesfaggotry it's all good.
I became an avid classical listener like three months ago and I can't stop. I stopped listening to popular music and I don't spend much time on 4chan anymore.
Here's how I did it.
-Remember the average person listens to like zero classical a year. If you listen to a 10-minute sonata, you are 10 minutes above the average person
-Don't force yourself to listen. Commit to 10 minutes a day. I swear after three days you'll feel like listening more and after a month or so you should be listening to 3 full symphonies a day for pleasure
-listen to various composers/ genres at the same time. while I'm listening to a long symphony or one that makes me sleepy I'll play a string quartet and switch. This should refresh your head. Keep them different. I listen to program music and absolute music.
-It isn't a race. listening with all your attention won't make you sleepy that fast. Try to acknowledge the pieces you can skip to the last movement and which command all your attention.
-Buy physical copies. When you buy the cds/records from your own money you'll feel the need to listen to them to avoid the feel of wasting your money.
-Start with composers highly discussed here so you feel motivated to discuss.

He was only good in the mid-to-late 60s and early 70s though, everything after that was bad, and a good chunk of his prime material is bad as well.
Childhood is when you idolize Brian Wilson. Adulthood is when you realize Mike Love makes more sense
Mike Love has such a weird shaped head. He looks like Kryten from Red Dwarf
>>69111520
sure, Brian Wilson is a talented composer. Mike Love was a close friend and family member, and the Beach Boys was just as much his band as it was Brian's.
I don't think it's wrong to try to dissuade a close friend/family member from going down the rabbit hole, becoming a drug addict, going insane, screwing up the cash cow
I love the Beach Boys and have since I was a kid. Mike Love was, is and always will be right about the formula. Pet Sounds was the beginning of the end for BB, and even if your baby boomer revisionists pretend it was some masterpiece, it's not.
Classic Beach Boys are what they will be remembered for, time has already proven that.

we all know its you, mike
Is there a bigger audience of degenerates than Crust Punks?
For those blessed without the knowledge of these pathetic vagrants, imagine crossing a dirty hippie with an anarchist Punk squatter. Now try to imagine that same shithead dedicating his life to an idle existence of homelessness, hard drugs and the occasional temper tantrum informed by the latest lyrical screed of his favorite band. When he isn't beating his bongo drums or strumming his out of tune guitar at the latest protest, he's shooting smack, panhandling, accosting some poor sucker who committed the unspeakable atrocity of eating meat in his presence or ganging up with his buddies on another sucker who happened to say something racist.
There really isn't a more obnoxious subculture than this. Even the most loutish, knuckle-dragging skinhead looks dignified in comparison.
That said, I like some of their music. At times, it's cathartically hateful and aggressive.
Have you forgotten about juggalos?
