Reminder that You don't need Music theory to make music.
We know.
>>69840141
oh really? That's great to know anon. What else can you inform me of today? That Earth is round?
But it can help you plenty
/mu/ talks about music theory as if everyone was forced at gunpoint to learn it
Do you listen to electronic music, or are you guitarded?

that isn't the point retard.
Use reading comprehension. Just because I said I use it as a deterrent doesn't mean I actually listen to it. Everybody's reaction when they first hear tranny hunger is "what the fuck is this"
I don't get it

i have an interesting love hate relationship with them
theyve been one of my favorite bands since i was a kid because some of their albums (particularly the first 5, relayer, tormato, drama, their 80s stuff, and going for the one) are some of my favorite albums of all time. but theyve put out some really, really shit albums (union, tales, anything billy sherwood is a part of except the ladder, etc). and they treat their members like shit--theyre a high school clique that's gone on too long.
What was the most important/groundbreaking song they wrote, and why?
I dont think you can actually choose one
but if i had to choose it would be
A day in the life
I am the walrus
I want you(shes so heavy)
Eleanor rigby
Tomorrow never knows
as for why,try finding other songs like them in the 60s

Hey, Jude
>I want to hold your hand

>I want to hold your hand
>I want to hold your hand
>I want to hold your hand
what did they mean by this?
Holy shit you guys have bad taste. I've been going through some AOTY threads these past couple of weeks. Seriously? Blackstar? Skeleton Tree? A Tribe Called Quest? Are you kidding me? How are you going to act elitist when your taste line up almost perfectly with Metacritic.
I thought you guys were supposed to be these hipster douchebags who listen to obscure avant garde music. I know people who claim they're afraid to post here because you listen to weird shit and lord over other people with it. But, no, you just listen to the same weak, milky, watered down pop that everyone else does. How do you guys even use terms like "normie" unironically?
Oh, and don't claim that I'm making a generalisation and that mu isn't one person. Fuck you. There wasn't a single AOTY list I saw this week that wasn't totally obvious.
kys
Okay, so what do you listen to tough guy? The reason those albums are picked is because they are good and better than most albums this year.

I've had my eureka moment with Mr.Ocean
I've been listening to exuma 1 lately
What is the easiest Tool song for a full band to cover? Im playing guitar and singing, I have a really competent bassist, but my drummer is just now getting back into drumming after like 5 years and he's using a minimal kit.
We want to just play a tool song for fun, but we're having a hard time coming up with one the drummer can probably play.
Stinkfist.
Probably something by Opiate or Undertow
Their latest records have too many nuances on the drumming, and also all that polyrhythms
But if your bass player is able to get a good tone, playing Wings or The Pot shouldn't be too hard
