i'm kind of afraid to leave a comment even though i agree with him on most things. i'm just glad that he's living life completely on his own terms

i pissed him off once by responding to his comment to some rpg video made by some tranny that he thought was a woman
Hip-hop and rap are nothing more than aggressive and yet monotone lyrics, set to simplistic beats and melodies. They take very little skill or hard work to create and are subsequently enjoyed by those with no appreciation of skill or hard work.
Also, hip-hop and rap tend to be something of a catalyst for violent acts committed by these unintelligent, uninspired, unskilled and lazy people (mostly men). Ironically, were one to resort to violence in an attempt to remove said-problem (I can think of a few who'd be first to go), this would negate the argument, entirely. So, the rest of us just put up with hip-hop, rap and their followers.
There are so many wondrous things we've learned we can do with our voices, in unison, with other hard-working people who've been practicing until their fingers bleed, and there are STILL those who listen to people talking over a generic melody and beat? Don't you KNOW this?
>tl;dr: rap and hip-hop are crap.

Well that fucking sucked. Could they have casted any worse? I mean Dano was a good choice but even he couldn't make it a classic. It was hard to watch. I mean John Cusack? John fucking CUSACK? Give me a break. This could have been a good film if they had a better cast and focused more on the acting rather than the set. The Beach Boys have such a great story and this is the film they came up with. ugh.
>inb4 telling me to post on /tv/
I'm talking about the Beach Boys and the film's plot representation of the band's story. it's music-related.
Atleast they got Mike FUCKING PERFECTLY
i went and saw this in the theater by myself, it was completely empty and during the credits a grandpa and grandma came and literally sat one seat away from me man. I didn't wanna get up and move and possibly offend them so whatever. they were all eating popcorn and i was hearing their denture sounds and shit. then the movie made me wanna cry but I couldn't because I didn't want to be a little bitch in front of this grandpa who probably fought in korea and shit. 8/10 movie, cusack was fine. Giamatti was awesome

Thoughts on Jim's Life/Legacy?
He made very good music, then not-so-good music, then got fat and died. Now he's a rock legend.
>>71696476
I think that Jim, like nearly all of Scaruffi's 9/10s, never really grew up. I think he also had an intensely idiosyncratic neurosis and ego and almost certainly had some very strange experiences with drugs, dreams, and psychosis. Perhaps impossible to fathom what it would have been like to have been Jim Morrison or any of Scaruffi's 9/10s. I'm reminded of George MacDonald's novel Lilith, where there are these "Little Ones, children who never grow up, remaining pure children or becoming selfish and getting bigger and dumber, turning into "bags" or bad giants." The idiosyncratic neuroses manifesting itself in incredibly idiosyncratic and dark art in nearly all of Scaruffi's 8-9/10s remind me of this.

But nothing comes after Secret Life of Arabia?
but Secret Life of Arabia is the closer
>>71696388
i think you misinterpreted what they said, they're saying that the best track is Secret Life of Arabia, and nothing comes after it.
Also, best track is Heroes, no way is Sons of the Silent Age the worst. Worst is Sense of Doubt

wtf it's like animal collective but good
literally neither of those things
It's good but it's nothing like animal collective
if it was it wouldn't be good
Flaming Lips + Lambchop are the nicer version of Mercury Rev + Flotation Toy Warning
All 4 are great, but there are definitely different connections between each pair. Highly suggest you check all four out.
AnCo is ok, but does not enter into the conversation.
