Hi /mu/ first time poster, first time reader. I have rarely visited this board and let me tell you why.
I don't like music. I mean like, real music. And I don't know why. Sometimes a movie or game soundtrack strikes my fancy, but not for long, and sitting, waiting, walking, driving, i just simply prefer to do it all in silence. I'll try to listen to stuff, but I either don't like it, or I can't be bothered to actually turn it on and give it a chance. And I can't explain it.
It's made me feel weird, like an outcast. My friends talk about it and i just sit there, at a loss, not knowing how to contribute to the conversation. I've lost dates because of it, because they eventually find out I don't have a favorite genre and I can't blame them for finding it weird.
And it's not just a social thing, I feel like I'm missing out on a whole piece of human creativity and culture. I'm missing something I could be really be a big fan of right now.
It's like most people had this awakening when they were teenagers and grouped themselves with what they liked to best. Hell sometimes it has enough influence to change a person's life style. And yet I sat there, wondering what the big deal was
So I'm wondering, what music gave you your interest in music? what would you suggest for a turbo autist such as me?
have a nice day and thank you for the (you)s

Not liking music is more patrician than liking music so you did good anon.
Has anyone listened to this album yet? Impressions?
I was pretty hyped for it, but I'm almost a little disappointed in it.

What is /mu/s opinion of Franz Ferdinand? Pretty weird that no one remember them anymore considering that they were a hit in the early 2000s
>>72094186
The recognize the name instantly but fuck I can't remember any songs by them

What does /mu/ think of Kimberly Kubus and his music? What genre do his albums fit in? I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on him.
Backstory if you don't know:
>Kimberly Kubus made over a hundred freeware video games that are considered by some people to be awful, others think they are masterpieces
>In his later career he took up music, trying to create the same vibe his games had
>Killed himself in May 2014, had mental issues (possible schizophrenia)
Here are some of his albums:

>As you might know, I am an avatar from a world called Kubus. An avatar is a creature from another place/existence/world/whatever who's soul has come to earth as a human being for specific purposes.
>As I was gonna say, I just had an out-of... body / SPIRIT experience by shanneling the energy caused from extreme tootache and channeing them to my frontal lobe in order to transfer mentally to the world of KUBUS, and it worked.
>OMG what a waaacky experience.
>I was back in the world of Kubus for the first time in 20 human years.
I only had a limited time there, becuz you know, it takes a tremendous amount of energy to do those things.
>I used all my mind power + the feeling of pain transformed into "fuel".
Wtf is wrong with this kid
>>72094177
He sees himself as a creator but not necessarily a god. I don't think he was a kid when he had the revelation, though. He was an interesting fellow.
>>72094226
Wow what a fucking weirdo
HEY FAGGOT! Show me your favorite album and tell me why I should listen to it!
>>72094073
>implying I want a pleb like you listening to my patrician music
>>72094105
>Implying I'm not a faggot.
>>72094073
Morrissey's a good singer/lyricist and Johnny Marr's a good guitarist/songwriter. Together they made some pretty good jangle pop.
Prove that you are not a hipster numale and name one good song by them
Guillotine
No Advance
>>72094048
there is no good song by them, trick question
What's the best TMV album, and why is it Bedlam?
pic related
Frances the Mute all day erryday.
Still my fave band.
>>72094070
It's a good album but Bedlam has more hits in my opinion
>TMV isn't meant to be about hits
Well, to me they are. I like the shorter rockier songs, not the long, drawn out, repetitive stuff.
>>72094125
Frances is shit. Some good songs but much of the album is filler. De-Loused is better.
I like this :^)
ok
do u want a prize?
Ooo wee I like Dodge Stealths too I had the Mitsubishi equivalent the 3000gt back when I first got my license. Thing was heavy and moderately slow. It was painted neon green like fast and the furious. 2003 was a dark time.
Does /mu/ like Nu-Metal?
>>72093741
>nu metal was a mistake
Unless it's SOAD, no and they *barely* count.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hv0rV0N3SrY
What are some artists/songs that will make me feel deep feels?
I like Bon Iver, early Cold Play, Chaos Chaos, Elliot Smith and comfy 80s music like husker du and velvet underground
>>72093651
shit dude, you sound like every dull white guy ever.
>>72093669
>dull white guy
so /mu/ then
>>72093669
That's great buddy, but I asked for some more related music. Ty for the bump though.
is it worth getting an MPC?
>>72093629
If you enjoy the process of using one, I guess. For me, trying to slice beats on old hardware is a pain in the ass and it kills all motivation that I had to do anything.
>>72093629
What do you want it for?
>>72093792
but its more intuitive and free desu. just imagine if you had to lay out the sub 16th notes just right. just use your hands
Can someone please tell me why this album is so special? I get the praise of TPAB but this? Eh... The tracks are good but I don't see how this comes close to TPAB.
were you 10 when it came out or something?
>>72093621
you wouldnt know because youre a virgin.
>>72093621
if you don't like it, nothing we could say will change your mind why the fuck are you wasting our time
