It's a 5/10 album with 10/10 artwork. It's better than their last so I can't complain.

I feel bad for saying this because James seems like a really nice guy but this album was trash. I understand the sound he was going for and I appreciate how he evolved the sound from previous poor records but this.....is just too late. Maybe if this was 2006 I would be jamming to this but it's not. Sorry but it's how I feel. Nothing about the album is bad so to speak but I don't really feel like– now, in 2017–anything about this is really good. Also, not to forget that none of the songs fit together; the album lacks practically any cohesiveness.

Good record. Not on par with their earlier stuff, but substantially better than Port of Morrow. Worth the price of admission for the title track, Fantasy Island, Dead Alive and Name For You.

Since he was the sole songwriter for the band going back to Flake Music, what difference does it make who is playing the basslines and keys? The Shins was always a solo project when you get right down to it.
