What are your AOTYSF picks? I'm stuck on this atm

This leaked??
I have to know how it is.
Black Up: 8.8/10
Lees Majesty: 9.1/10
New Albums: ??
>>73059344
Just this part of the double album. I personally preferred black up but this beats out both imo. They're doing abstract stuff in such a pleasant way without sacrificing the feeling of being out there. Unique/10

Also peep soulseek for the leak
>the white suburban manchild Dragon Ball Z fan starter pack

DUDE THIS IS THEIR BEST SONG
>>73059207
Needs some slipknot
The jams are perfect.
It's an astonishing album, I dont see a lot of other works that mix together great jams with some slow parts and just enough noise. Also the fact that there's hardly any unconventional instruments, yet it sounds something way more.
Amazing songwriting and atmosphere but they pretty blatantly copped their sound from a lot of better 80's groups
Pic related should have gotten as much praise as TOTBL did
best post punk revival album incoming
>>73059204
>>73059323

Am I missing something or did Komeda do Stereolab's sound like 3 years before them?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFXFNn_La68
>>73059155
Good album my man. Weren't they on the same label? They might have been inspired by each other.
>>73059189
Nah, Komeda were on a swedish indie label so...
But yeah, I'd like to believe Tim Gane liked them a lot
What are some other artists with the lounge aesthetic that aren't Komeda, Stereolab, The High Llamas, Broadcast, and Pram?
I loved California. Where do I go from here?
swans, radiohead
Disco Volante
oregon
green shrimp muffins

If you slow down the instrumental to "the ultimate showdown" it could fit on common as light
>>73058967
common as light is the best album after tiny cities.
>>73059053
This but unironically but after
Benji=DCH=Ocean Beach=Admiral Fell Promises
Common is like his Yeezus
I can't into rap. I don't know what about it that doesn't click with me. I'm trying to be as open minded as possible about music, but rap music doesn't work for. Any tips or album I should give a listen to?
illmatic
>>73058950
what sort of rap have you been listening to thus far anon?
Why do you need to get into it? occupational?
BOY PROBLEMS, WHO'S GOT 'EM?

wtf blood visions was not synth punk, no synths on the album

>Halsey is inherently an alternative artist
>Lady Gaga is part of the counterculture
>Kendrick isn't a pop star
Halsey is so goddamn clueless.
>>73059389
This is a time where i cant defend when people say "stupid entitled millennials".
>music composed and produced by a large team of people
>"Not a pop artist"
Literally the fact that sets modern female artists apart from folks like Bjork
If you can't write it yourself how do you expect anyone to take your vision seriously?
I wasn't around /mu/ when this album was released, but reading old reviews tells me that this was a pretty big deal. What is the general consensus on this album? Also, can anyone recommend anything similar?
avant-garde masterpiece
>>73058548
No other way to describe it
>>73058534
ok what the FUCK is this
sounds like some dystopian shit
are we hyped for Chungha?
I love laboum
honestly she'll almost definitely flop but i hope i'm wrong about that
>>73058519
their single earlier this year impressed me and this new stuff has sealed the deal
I always get nervous when people ask me what music I like.
If I tell the truth, they will think I am pretentious. And since I've told the truth about telling the truth some of you will also think I'm pretentious. The whole subject is so impossibly thorny and so filled with thin-skinned people that I generally pretend not to have any interest in music, so that people only think I am stupid instead of pretentious.
How do you solve this problem? Jesus, it's like a pissing contest. If you mention something too common, they scoff, and if you mention something too rare, they scoff. Too old, too modern, etc. It's worse than a pissing contest. What kind of pissing contest do you lose for pissing too far?
What's the most middle of the road and inoffensive music I can pretend to like for the purposes of socialisation? Should I pretend to like the Beach Boys, or are they considered too dark and complex for this particular pissing contest?
stop being such a whiny faggot and tell people what you fucking listen too. if you are too scared of them finding out what a faggot you are, then just name genres instead of bands. you faggot
just tell the truth, jesus. why do you care about peoples opinion ffs, its about appreciating art, not a fucking race
>>73058495
Lmao, if you don't act pretentious, they won't think you are. If you say,"well, you've probably never heard of them ...but I'll tell you anyway ;)" then you're a pretentious fuck. If you say ,"I listen to (artist or band), they play (genre)" then you should be fine.
