I'd just like to air out about what I've been thinking is going to happen after the events of WitN like I did with the previous TNL. So basically guessing or my own little headcannon, depending if my questions are ever answered in the future. Also spoilers warning.


Shortly thereafter the end I think that the North's relations with bordering Lands can only improve, especially the Craglands whom they have always been chill with. I think that Mathe and Vera's help to restore the North went to make the ties between the Noth and Craglands that much stronger.

Knit, Brun and the gang continue their adventures for a while, never going too far from their homeland before coming back to stay with their tribe. Knit becomes either tribe leader or someone of great importance in the tribe. CS and Marion I can see either coming back to the tribes of moving to a city. Aphid and Merry I have no idea what the hell is going to happen to.

In the long run the Peacemakers become an elite unit of the Northern army, specializing in reconnaissance and fearsome in battle but always prioritizing the well being of civilians. It becomes tradition to recruit Peacemakers from the best the tribes have to offer, for the wilds of the North are unforgiving and make sturdy ponies.

Now I have some questions for Fins if he doesn't mind. How did the surrounding Lands react to hearing the horn of Demonview? What's the story behind Knit's mother? And finally for fun, did Rocky and Shuvelle hear the horn? If yes, where were they?

Those are some nice predictions, some of them very true. Inter-land relationships improve to the point that it will become vital to the plot of future chapters. The Peacemakers do become an elite unit for a very long ass time, and training of scouts sort of becomes tradition. More like it's better enforced in the tribes. Aurorians don't train scouts, they just get bigger weapons and shields. It works.

The horn can be heard pretty much all the way to the southern ocean, and while many ponies didn't really know what it was, those who had knowledge or an intuition were very much afraid and some tried to find out as much information as possible. The news spread after the fact, making the populace much more aware of Demonview's purpose.

Aisha (Knit's mom) was just a unicorn traveler and seamstress who happened to fall in love with a stallion at the North. She was fragile at first, but learned to survive along with the tribes and "settled" with them. However, during a particularly vicious hunting outing she overestimated how long she could stay in the middle of a horde, eventually falling behind and getting caught by monsters.

Rocky and Shuvelle were actually pretty close when the horn sounded, somewhere along the northern Heroican border (close to Old Camp). They heard the horn and decided to investigate. She missed the Peacemakers but made it to Demonview and later heard the news. She got really pissed of letting such a chance go. Something tells me, in the many probabilities I can see, that she and Knit could meet one day, in the distant future of chapters 3, 4, 5...

Enjoy some lore and feel free to ask. Even though it kinda makes me want to run chapter 3 right now and that's a bit scary.

I wish I had cool arts or music or anything at all to show, but I lived session to session, just making do with the energy I had, which I understand is deplorable, but also what allowed me to reach an end along with the players.

I always plan as many different events as I can, different plotlines based on the character's speed of advance and route. Some interesting examples: Several times I thought about having Rocky and Shuvelle cameo in, but often I backed down because I think appearances of that level should be well thought and accompanied by good presentation and visuals. That plus the speed we went through the last few towns settled it out.
Another recurrent possibility was fighting Aurora. In fact, the song used for the final boss was originally hers (her final fate disguised the name, but it's originally a reference to her undying loyalty).
Had the players gone different routes, they would have found other characters and enemies. There were some interesting fight ideas at the fortress of The Cross and the Inya Lake. And so many more things I probably forgot and discarded. Maybe one day I'll keep a proper level of energy through a quest and then some, to carry out better ideas.

The first and the last questions might be solved in future quests, or die in oblivion. Rocky's very much comfortable in the North, since it's close to home and also full of monsters to fight and goodies to collect. The ponies in there become gradually less resentful of foreigners (but still keeping that base of racism).
Janos has a boy, a worthy heir of a political position since control of the North turns to councils and chamber meetings.

Since there is fucking NOTHING running and I've found that I have lost all meaning to my life I will resort to posting a "critique" of Bardquest.

Characters and their interaction are lovely and always entertaining. Pleeny's biggest weakness if you ask me is that he often does not describe the surroundings. He doesn't set the scene so it's hard to imagine the characters as they interact. The first chapter was very well done arc with here being a wonderful mystery but the second "chapter" has suffered from a real lack of focus. It feels as though, ideally, there are to be arcs or chapters too focus on specific people, places, or events but it's somewhat lost that feel. An upside though is that there's ALWAYS something to do for the little bard. Our to do list has stretched pretty far and I wonder how long it will be before she just runs out of juice from trying to help everybody. Another thing is that Pleeny has made an interesting world that I want to see more of and he does a good job of always keeping the ball rolling and not letting the action bog down too much.

Oh and Pleeny, while the ability to talk to Cabbage is cool it feels really really weird since what we previously we treated as a pet we now treat as a companion.

So I've been gone for a week, partly because most of last week was shit but mostly because I've just been feeling too exhausted to keep making myself QM. So I took some time off. Being able to make characters that people love and worry about and want to see triumph over adversity has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, and it's given me some much-needed structure and an outlet to channel my abundant energy and shitty ideas into. I wish I could give a big, grandiose speech telling you all how grateful I am, but with so much energy being focused on the holiday (which isn't just busy as usual, but is also especially rough for the reasons you're probably sick of hearing about after months and months), my words are failing me. I just want you to know that I'm really, truly thankful for everything you guys have given me, and that for all the shit that I have to go through, my life wouldn't be as good as it is if not for you all.
