Does anyone else think that Getter Robo Arc doesn't enough love
It needs a lot more than love it's a thing calleda living author
Because it's the weakest entry with by far the worst Getter designs.
>>13728040
Maximum pleb, go kill yourself.
>>13727915
If it was finished, it probably would have been the best thing in the franchise. No other Getter story was set up to explore the cosmic background elements in the way Arc was, nor did any of them ever give their villains near as much nuance. As it is, though, it's hard to know what to think about it since it's perpetually incomplete.

So I just finished 08th MS Team and I'm not sure what to watch next. I'm pretty new to Gundam and mecha in general but I liked 08th MS Team.
>>13727877
Ok. Have you only watched 8th MS? Also, how good are you with older animation.
>>13727883
>Have you only watched 8th MS?
yep
>how good are you with older animation.
I'm fine with it, as long as the rest of the show is good
>>13727877
It's not the most recent, but it's the only one i have. But yeah, the standard here is production order. If you got no problem with older artstyles, start with MSG/0079 and continue from there.
So for some reason I wait a 1 year+ to finally watch the last episode of Gundam Unicorn, did it with a full rewatch of the OVA with my GF.
What can I say /m/, the ending made me feel like a boy again. Tears were shed. What a great coda to early UC.
Also can't wait to build a PG Unicorn, Banshee and the Neo Zeong.
>Being happy about a Gundam show on /m/.
Run while you still can.
>>13727295
Even if you hated Unicorn for some reason I don't think you can gainsay that 30-45 minutes of /m/ porn in the beginning of the last ep.

And why is it Robot Jox?
Aint none of that big eyed Gundam stuff here. This is a real mans ball game.

Crash and burn man.
for a low budget movie, the effects guys went all out with the miniatures and stop motion
Why was this so bad?
you'd think for a "remake" of the original they would have made it not dogshitstill better than The Next though they somehow found a way to top themselves on that

Design has changed since then. And I fear it might be too complex for anything other than CGI.
>>13724760
Who knows.
The fact that it was announced last month as officially green lit with production to be carried out by Pierrot (http://www.jinraiger.com/archives/911) is a big step forwards towards it being an actual thing.

Why is VOTOMS stuff so damn expensive?
Can anybody point me to toys or kits that are $20 and under? I want a lot of them, but God damn.
>>13724439
They're roughly on par with MG models, so no, or else they're old/sold out.
Lots of scales and versions of the Scopedog alone, though.
I'd wanted to get a model of a Scopedog and maybe a Standing Turtle, myself.
The plamo isn't too expensive from what I recall. Fun to put together too.
Still afraid to paint it though.
>>13724439
There used to be a line of 1/35 toys that were about $20. I think they are more expensive now due to being out of production. The Bandai 1/20 kits are well worth the pricetag.
Pepe Gundam confirmed to be customized in the next ep

the head reminds me of the Girmore from G-reco, only it lacks the mono eye.
Let's talk uniforms, gear and practical mech piloting stuff.
I am working on some robot related fiction and part of it is I want to think about what the pilots would bring with them in case of being shot down. Currently my idea is a survival pack and inflatable raft stowed in the cockpit, which has a sidearm, flares, patches for their suit, water purification tablets, nutrient bar future rations stuff and basic medical supplies.
The setting is a Fafner style thing, so no space combat as yet.
As to the uniforms I imagined a Nihei-esque look but with less piss and weirdness. The suits have electrode pads on the inside to interface with the mech and send lifesigns etc to operators back at base, can be sealed (with a limited self contained air supply and the mech having its own air supply the helmet can connect to) and has reinforced upper body sections to protect the pilot from shrapnel/pistol fire a bit.
This is probably all shit, so what sort of practical details does /m/ like in its pilot gear? I liked how in Dragonar the pilots had that astronaut style hood under the helmet, or how VOTOMs has those cool gas masks.
If you want to add the shrapnel protection thing it only makes sense that you'd pad out the entire suit in the appropriate places rather than specifically the upper body, unless the cockpit of your mech had an Entry-Plug-esque securing function that clamps down on the lower body. Otherwise you just end up with an unbalanced look with a barrel torso but thin lower body.
>>13723956
That is a good point.
I will admit it was me trying to think of a purpose for the stereotype armoured shoulders/chest plates you see on some mech pilot gear.
>>13723970
If you can cost effectively build an armored pilot suit that won't compromise the intended role of the pilot, then you probably will. Joint Chiefs willing, at least.
