How does this make you feel /m/?
>>13712242
Slightly aroused.
>>13712242
Erect
Gentle/m/en, how do we fix Gundam SEED Destiny?
>>13712030
Kill it with fire.
>>13712030
KeepMwu dead and kill the entire cast as planned at the end of SEED
Now, you can fresh slate to forward the plot and the setting.
>>13712030
Remove the gattai sequence everytime impulse gets out of minerva
Is southern any decent?
One of the most boring anime around.
>>13711953
Don't let what others here say about the show. Just watch it.
>>13711953
Are you watching it in it's original context, or are you watching the bastardized version?
So, did the Kamen Rider Black manga have any resolution at all? Why did Ishinomori decide to end it like that?
I'm not into Kamen Rider tv series at all (only into Ishinomori), so was the tv series similar?
>>13711642
That's not RX.
>>13711642
>resolution in the manga
Beyond defeating Shadow Moon, not really. But I don't think he's going to become the Century King he saw in Australia.
The TV series isn't like that as much. Mostly zany Golgom plots that Black stumbles across while trying to figure out how to rescue Nobohiko (spoiler:he doesn't).
It ends up with an implied cosmic horror like Cthulhu who wants Shadow Moon and Black Sun to fight like Highlander until there is only one.
>>13711642
But there's a resolution.
Somewhere in the future, there will be a demon king of Golgom, or the Creation King who would rule the post-apocalyptic Earth and drive what little there is left of humanity to extinction. We see this doomed future in all the Australia chapters.
The people of the future, whom we’ve met in those chapters, in desperation summoned Minami Kotaro to the future world as a last resort. Minami Kotaro by this point was still trying to fight Golgom with Nobuhiko, now also a modified human and a very possible candidate for future Creation King.
In the future world however, when Kotaro encounters the Creation King, he claims to be future Kotaro, now in his full power and invincible to any efforts by past Kotaro.
So instead, to save past-Kotaro from the encounter, he was zapped back into “present day“, but instead 7 years later (in the comic’s time, 1999) than where he was originally from. In that seven years, the world has gone worse, steadily heading towards the ruined world we saw in the future. Nobuhiko has meanwhile seemingly and finally lost himself and fully intends to claim the throne of the Creation King.
To save Kotaro once again from this encounter, the future people sent Kotaro slightly further but still in the year 1999. Now, Japan and all other civilization is on the brink of destruction, all nations and cities becoming a wasteland. Here, Kotaro encounters Nobuhiko once again, and engage in a final battle. Kotaro wins, but Nobuhiko in his last breath tells that now Kotaro will become Creation King instead,, as it was ordained by Golgom from the beginning.
Now, Kotaro is left all alone standing on the ruins of the old world (its why he is literally standing on a sinking ship called “Nippon Maru”). Whether he actually stopped humanity’s eventual extinction or will he be destined to become Creation King as prophesized in the future is left uncertain, while Kotaro asks what will become of him.
I had a Gundam and SDF phase many years ago and spent some time here. I have a hankering for some new (to me) /m/ content and was considering something like Dougram. Last I saw, some guy was subbing it practically alone. Did he finish? Is it even worth it?
I liked /m/ because of the amount of effort some of you guys put into finding and even localizng stuff, making sure the well never runs dry. Very unique for 4chan. I love you all.
Yes and yes.
I remember downloading the whole series from BakaBT, so if it's the same guy, then yes, he finished.
>>13711528
Everything's been done from that series, yes. And it's entirely worth sitting through unless your only reason for watching things is fight scenes (not that Dougram's are outright BAD, but it's much more focused on the overall plot than the fights).
If you were around at that point, quite a few other series have been subbed in the intervening years as well.
Who's Go Nagai's spiritual successor?
>>13711513
I really can't think of one. Imaishi might be the closest, he did TTGL and KlK which are similar to Go nagai's robot stuff and cutie honey
Was actually just about to tell you its this guy op >>13711526
Literally Darth Vader.
Then who's anakin.
>>13711268
Angelo Sauper
>>13711263
But Vader's wife/lover never left him.
What made the Ichijo-Minmay-Misa triangle so compelling in a way that later Macrosses couldn't duplicate?
>>13710866
One of the girls actually disappears, leaving only one remaining love interest.
One of the guys in Plus dies.
The "triangle" in 7 is really flimsy because the only one who really cares is Gamlin.
In Zero, there's no real triangle. It was pretty clearly just Shin/Sara with Mao just kind of being there.
In Frontier, Ranka never really felt like a real love interest. More like a little sister figure.
>>13710866
It was grounded. All three of them seemed like real people.
Ichijo started out a dweeby kid, Minmay started out a slightly air-headed girl dreaming of being an idol, Misa was a sad woman who didn't hope for much more than doing her job well. Nobody started out as a larger-than-life celebrity, if we're sticking to the series. The closest is Ichijo, who can come across as a child prodigy in the first episode, having the balls to do that flyby near Focker.
Their relationships rise and fall for stupid reasons. Minmay just forgets that intense growing-closer she and Ichijo have once they reunite with the other castaways. Ichijo's disappointment in that relationship pushes him into the military, but later, his success helps motivate Minmay to do her best in the idol business.
Their relationship helped them both grow, and then that growth was what split them apart; the military world and the idol world were just too alien from each other. One of my favorite scenes is when Ichijo calls Minmay after Kashikazi dies. Minmay, oblivious to what Ichijo just went through, starts talking about her exhaustion from work, and Ichijo just stands there, then hangs up without saying anything.
So he pursues a relationship with someone who can understand him better, Misa. Until it turns out that idol music and military strategy go hand-in-hand, and everyone is forced to remember what they tried to leave behind. It's not enough to bring anyone back together, but it's enough to make Ichijo remember Minmay years later, holding on to that photo album.
In defense of later series, most of the time they didn't try to duplicate the SDF triangle. Only Frontier tried to do so, and that's debatable. The Basara-Mylene-Gamlin triangle wasn't trying to copy SDF at all, yet the Mylene-Gamlin aspect did have a similar charm.
Hey guys I started playing Zone Of Enders and I kind of realized that Tomino got the idea for the Mack Knife from the Jehuty. Thoughts?
You do know Tomino had nothing to do with the mech designs, right? The mobile suits in G-Reco were designed by Akira Yasuda, the guy behind King Gainer's Overmen and Code Geass' Knightmare Frames.
>>13710819
>Mack Knife
>Looks like Jehuty
Those two things look nothing alike.
>>13710819
Oh look, it's snapshit being a retard again.
Will they ever makes this a thing?
>>13710506
If they do, it's just going to be two statues on wheels rolling at each other and awkwardly flailing around.
>>13710506
Only if the first fight is good enough. If they go with the designs as they are now; An excavator could kick both there asses.
It will be too slow, boring, and uneventful to keep the general public interested.
When are these motherfuckers going to get off their lazy asses and finish subbing the rest of this show
I'm curious myself.
Pretty sure it's mostly just one guy, although U-Q is also doing Kimengumi. Gag manga can be tricky to translate.
>>13710316
>where's my free shit bro hurry up
Small photo dump incoming.
Some Japanese guy was nice enough to take pictures of all the pages this dinosaur of an artbook that dates back to the end of L-Gaim in the mid-80's. Strangely enough, all the text is in English, and even though these are small pictures, they're large enough for the text to be legible.
What's interesting about it is that this book is the one that Banpresto took the Blood Temple design from when they accidentally put it into SRW 4 as an L-Gaim mook. What's even more interesting is that the book itself is basically a prequel series to L-Gaim about how Poseidal took over the galaxy, and is basically Nagano's version of how certain events took place with L-Gaim. If you're familiar with FSS timeline, especially the later dates, then yes, this is indeed where all the ideas for it came from. I can kind of see why Nagano got so mad at Banpresto for taking the Blood Temple from this, because it has very little to do with L-Gaim itself other than some named characters and mechanical designs, and because it's so close to what would become FSS.
>>13710189
The famous Blood Temple itself, which would later become what we all know as the LED Mirage.
>>13710195
Poseidal's Floating Temple
>>13710197
Poseidal and his two Fatimas, Lachesis and Atropos.
Why won't you just let Sharon Apple give you the emotion you want /m/?Also short hair is objective best Sharon, but she is best idol overall anyway
>>13709999
Long hair > Short hair
Sharon a shit, she only had one half decent song, and her role as a villain was an asspull.
>>13710011
Sounds like someone doesn't know how to get eternal high
Can I get one of them "what Gundam shows to watch in which order" pics? Thinkin' 'bout starting. Also, not much Gundam manga is there?
There's fucking tons of Gundam mangas, but very few are translated.
>>13709626
>Also, not much Gundam manga is there?
There's like five bajillions of them.
Scanlated, translated Gundam manga, though... maybe ten?
Can someone explain to me the exact powers of a new type? I am really confused is it just increased perception or can they bend reality?
Their exact powers are to trigger certain realism members of /m/
To do whatever the current writer/director feels like.
>>13709493
Newtypes started off as being a very specific interpretation and set of powers, but then Zeta fucked that up and turned them into Wizards. This situation stabilized into lower powerlevels for a while, but CCA established that Newtypes + Psychoframe can do literally anything, and the setting is under no obligation to explain how AND the most impressive feats of Newtype power are allowed to be 'one time miracles' that can never happen again even if you try.
This means that any writer can have Newtypes do pretty much anything the plot demands, and anything that has been said about what Newtypes can and cannot do previously is a suggestion you can freely ignore. Any time someone new sits down to write a scene involving newtypes, they can reinvent their powers at will because they already have no consistency anyway or internal logic anyway.
Anyone who says that there is a specific list of things that Newtypes can do is either reciting their headcanon or working off of a definition of Newtypes that has since been retconned by more recent works.
