if you have an ereader, theyre all free online, along with a lot of good J-Lit.
I read Sanshiro (the Penguin Classics one) and hated it.
What's the title of that Joyce story where some old guy sits down next to a couple kids and starts jerking off in front of them?
I think you mean An Encounter but that's really not what happened.

How come there aren't any books / short stories about SCP? Seems like a gold mine for writers.
Other than the question, feel free to talk about ideas and rough drafts about such stories

How do you feel about Raymond Carver? Do you like him? Why?
He fine. I like him as an american Chekhov influenced writer. I mean, minimal everyday themes, weak and pityful characters... his concise prose ain't as good as Chekhov's tho and maybe Chekhov portraits them characters in a more universal mature way, while Carver sometimes kinda falls for the "muh dirt muh scum muh white trash" meme; although, when it comes to that theme, I'm glad we got Carver despite Bukowski.
he's one of the only authors books I like.
I was kind of disappointed when I found out the minimalism was often just his editor's doing though.
I like the ideas more of dietpepsi minimalism or kmart realism, it's probably about the only thing I'll ever be smart enough to write.
thanks for remind me of this op
