You already know the answer, OP. It's because the author is a woman.
>reads Paradise Lost
>doesn't read Paradise Regained
This is as pleb-tier as reading Inferno but not the rest of the Divine Comedy
>reads Paradise Lost
>reads Paradise Regain'd
>doesn't read Samson Agonistes
oh shit what are you doing
>reads Ulysses
>didn't read Hamlet, The Iliad, The Odyssey, Dubliners, Portrait, and a few more Shakespeare plays, just to start, first
I'm 12 and my generation has stupid taste

>This is as pleb-tier as reading Inferno but not the rest of the Divine Comedy
Memes by christians who cannot accept the best part was Inferno.
every day i open up iA writer and start typing out some bs until it takes up one full iPad portrait screen. Then I save it to evernote as a pdf.
the real secret is that every other day I press the tab key and make the entire entry an ironic shitpost.
ok here me out. whenever i keep any kind of diary I either don't use it or spend the whole time tearing myself down.
This way, I can at least cut down on the emo self-loathing by a full 50%.
what are your diary top tips?
>july 1st

Real men keep commonplace books.

you've got the knack
Can learning the syntax of code help us become better at writing?
it could do
>>8259217
no.
well you can learn just the syntax of a language like C in like a day but you won't be able to understand or be able to code anything and I don't see how it would make you more creative or a better writer... artificial languages are noting like natural languages
>Start reading A Clockwork Orange.
>Three pages in.
>Pic related.
Yes i've had that, random pages from entirely different books accidentally added at manufacture. Just need to take it back to the shop I am sure they'll replace it.
Try this instead:

Ahhh yes, I remember high school!
Don't want to start any debate here, i want to start a veganist diet in a near future but i want to inform myself first. The problem is that all the books i've seen so far try to guide the reader to one specific direction or opinion.
Can you guys recommend me any good objective non manipulative books about Veganism?
thank you anons
Just read any book about nutrition. A vegan diet isn't really a special diet.
Just watch your b12 that's the only thing you can't fuck around with
>>8258985
>Just read any book about nutrition. A vegan diet isn't really a special diet.
Ok, that sounds reasonable. Any good books about the subject?
I am a vegetarian, here's my diet.
Low fat greek yogurt
Whole wheat Tortilla wraps: with the grilled ingredients
-chopped bell peppers (called fajita mix at whole foods, it comes in boxes pre chopped. I get 2 boxes of that a week)
-avocados (however many I am going to use per week, around 6)
-big heaping helpings of leafy greens (I get one giant box of leafy greens and then one smaller box of leafy greens.)
Sweet potatoes
Dark amber honey
Decaf Coffee
Almond Milk
Bananas
Blueberries
Apples
Big bag of oatmeal oats
around 2 - 3 pounds of salmon per week
This is my diet every week, it costs around 150-160 dollars at whole foods. I'm 6 foot 2 inches tall and I weigh 165 pounds, so my diet may be a little more calorie intensive than yours if you're a smaller person. I eat about 2500 - 2750 calories a day to maintain my weight.
All of this lasts me exactly a week and it's enough for me to have food every single day until saturday when I go to the grocery store again. I've been eating this diet for the past year and a half and it's been great.
Girlfriend let me borrow these.

Not enough, borrow her virginity too.
>>8258958
Nice.
Marry her
All of his books are retarded blabbering. They make no sense and have contributed nothing to humanity.
When is /lit/ going to stop posting threads about this fuck?
>>8258957
>guy who indirectly inspired or directly informed pretty much every relevant political movement of the 20th century
>guy who flat out said the 20th century would be fucking cataclysmic and welcomed it with open arms
>lol hes just retarded and did nothing 4 humanity xD
/lit/ is not going to stop posting about him because he is not only not irrelevant, he is basically the most relevant thinker of the 20th century and pulled that off while only living in the 20th century for one year during which he was completely insane. Only an idiot could approach his body of work and think of it as 'blabbering'.
A perfect woman, knows that she IS woman.
>>8258973
Guy is nuts, his body of work is the result of his retarded thinking. His writing is unintelligible and nonsensical.
soo, do you guys enjoy this stuff? from Conan to Doc Savage and all that
any stories worth sharing?
>>8258934
bump
Only Conan and Lovecraft and Fritz Leiber's stuff.
Never interested in The Shadow or Doc Savage.
Thought about reading H.Rider Haggard, but have not yet.
Read first John Carter (meh).
Read Lost World by A.Conan Doyle and Land that Time Forgot by Burroughs, both enjoyable.
The King in Yellow.. ? Is that pulpy enough?
A lot of PK Dick is pulp, but I suspect that is not the era you are interested in.
Tbh the cover art for those things was more interesting than much of the writing.
>>8258934
I enjoy them so much I just used a ton of my PC's memory for them. If you enjoy it I would recommend the SciFi thread over in /t/.
Is a Kindle worth it ?
If you travel and don't want to take 2kg of books then yes
Also if you are looking for free books it's the way to go
>>8258787
Still worth it when i have an ipad ?
not sure, kindle's battery last longer (weeks) and I like the 'no light' thing, but I know some who don't
So, the dover thrift edition of this is way cheaper than other versions available online, but this one has 150 pages while the other version has like 288. I'm guessing it's not missing actual writing from nietzsche in the book, it probably just doesn't have long prefaces and annotations, right?
>>8258738
get the vintage, trans. Kaufmann. you don't know enough philosophy or Nietzsche for his alleged changes to be of concern to you
>>8258825
this. there's also a Nietzsche reader or something (not the Viking one) that has this and a bunch of other stuff too.
Never buy Dover you fucking retard. Pirate a decent version if you're poor.
Has he been ruined by Leftist academics and Gender Professors?
His disregard of facts ruined him.
They're the logical conclusion to his thought.
>>8258701
Explain.
The fact that nobody on this board talks about their interpretations of literature is proof of /lit/'s failure to become anything more than a mouthpiece for angsty teenagers pretending towards an understanding of classics.
Enough with recommendations and dick-waving. Post your off the wall interpretations ITT. Actually talk about concepts for a change.
>>8258580
I think Dubliners is a response to Metamorphoses
>interpretations
Oooh yeah you're a creative reader, you are, a creative *pat* reader
>>8258590
Nothing wrong with thinking about what you're reading
is your library noisy?
>>8258571
Since it is a haven for the homeless and literal retards, yes.
Some sub-normal is always screaming MUH PANKAKES I LOVE PANKAKES or something. The childrens room is actually better run even though they have a low functioning autistic kid volunteering there who hates other people. I would go to the huge neo-classical beautiful library down the street but it is across from a halfway house that is closed between 9 and 6.
Nope.
>>8258571
>Teens that are on their phones waiting for the bus
>People taking phone calls when it's rainy outside
>Immigrants
(I actually saw a paki kick an eight year-old in the back of the head)
Children aren't actually that noisy, it's only when parents take them to the library with nothing to do while they sit at the computer.
Only the elderly and lonely teens are respectful.
The fucking workers whistle while they work!
>it will never be the 90s again
>you will never go to a typical American high school in sunny california
>you will never work a retail / fast food job during your high school summers and have slacker style hijinks with your friends
>you will never go to UCLA / USC / UCSB / UCSC / Pomona College
THIS. THIS is the source of all suffering in the world.
>>8258482
>slacker style hijinks
what?
>>8258482
Yeah. We don't get to choose where we live, son. Grow th'fuck up and getto work
