A lot of you guys here are current or former servicemen and I have a question for you.

When it came to officers of varying rank, what particular qualities did the best of them and the worst of them have? Stories welcome too.

So I bought a Mosin Nagant, I bought stripper clips, a sling and a pouch for said clips.

My issue is buying ammo, I know for a certain older/MilSurp rifles need ammo with different loads as to not fuck up the weapon.

Is this a concern with my nigget or shoukd an 7.62x54r do?

Also, didnt see any MilSurp Rifle threads on the catalog so here you are.

It looked like its been weathered a bit but it looked alright overall.

>"CURRENT YEAR"-man's year+1
>still denies Russia would BTFO the US in a nuclear war

The US / NATO missile defense system is completely inferior to Russia's missile defense system
Their missile defense system has to be directly under the mid course flight path of the incoming missile to intercept it, and has no chance against even a single MIRV, let alone 1,000s of them at once!
Also, if Rammstein airbase in Germany is taken out in a first strike or simply has its communications jammed, the US / NATO "missile shield" is not much use...

US' THAAD is also is easily jammed, unlike Russian A-235...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A%E2%80%93235_anti-ballistic_missile_system

Also, Russian Nuclear Ballistic Missiles do not need to fly a set path to their targets, unlike the antiquated american missiles...

Russia also got decent enough EW assets to easily counter any US missile

excuse me my Slavic friend, but you seem to have forgotten how submarines work. It doesn't matter if you hit the US if our subs send you back to the Stone Age.

Have you ever considered that the US and other militaries doesn't post the actual missile defense ratings in order to keep a level of top secrecy?

Why the fuck would you want your enemies to know you have weaknesses?
>>

>A-235
Only something scribbled on a napkin by drunken russians to make themselves better over the massive utter failure that was the A-135.

Tell me when vatnikstan has something even remotely as capable as the AEGIS.

Because the olympics don't allow airstrikes or artillery bombardments.

Also, airguns are for fags. Unless you're removing tree niggers.

Thats a nice layout, your route seems nice but I'd sweep down the hall first while keeping an eye on the living room and kitchen.

Like go left, cut 45degrees to the hallways and clear from left to right, back to walls the entire time.

If a foreign military like Russia/China or terrorist group like ISIS wanted to capture a large city for their own means, what city would be the easiest to conquer.

What city is positioned poorly to hold off an invasion?
What city would be the least likely to defend itself?
What city would willingly aid and abet their conquerors?

Ghettos would become Fallujah/Mosul tier problems, so any city with a significant ghetto should be avoided.

Texan cities (besides Austin) are well armed.

The NYPD is essentially a military force

New York isn't in a defensible position, cold war doctrine was that New York was not to be defended and was to be retaken by the 10th Mountain at a later date.

Why has nobody tried targeting a cruise ship yet?

You have a lot of people in an enclosed space with nowhere to run, there is no real quick response units it seems like the perfect target so why have the likes of ISIS not tried?

Contrary to popular belief, there are usually weapons on board as well as trained personnel.

Also, there tend to be some security checks in place, though that depends of where the ship is coming from and where it is going.
>>
>>30969363

I don't think so?

The only challenge is getting weapons aboard and I'm pretty sure the operation is so big and staff complacent enough you could manage it.

Abundance of antitank weapons
>>
>>30969219
Because we have vehicles that do it better.
>>
>>30969240
Speaking of antitank weapons though; a metal object moving at high speed through a magnetic field will experience great force.
Couldn't one survive it with enough Teslas?
Of course, then it becomes a question of power unless it's a magnetic field that is only generated when something fast moves into it...

>>

I think so too but I dont think we're push overs either. Yes we sucked in ww2 but Id think we did alright in the korean war
>>
>>30968882
Well, I'll be honest, Ding Dong, I wouldn't fuck with you guys just for your sheer numbers. You have, IIRC, the single largest population on Earth, and every adult member of that population is a trained soldier, and you have the weapons to arm them. You also seem to have plenty of farms and water and apparently the Three Gorges Dam produces quite a lot of power and I'm assuming you have others. You're damn near self-sufficient if the government rations things properly, so resource superiority doesn't look so great either. The only real chance any of us have at beating you is to either drown you in superior equipment or go full Korea and just hold the line until you run out of people.

okay summer.

op is a fag but the fact that their SAS opts for M4s over SA80s proves its shit.

I've fired both and the SA80 is unbelievably rear-heavy

Why don't you stop being a fucking faggot and encouraging more board-ruining "general" threads that are literally nothing other than tripfag shitposting that usually isn't even related to the alleged subject.
>>
>>30968520
How are generals board ruining? I think the clean up the place a little bit from shit threads constantly being posted asking for advice on this or that

What firearms were available back then? What was considered affordable for a middle class person? What was being imported?

What firearms were NOT available back then, besides ones that weren't invented yet? Were there many Mosins and SKS rifles available to civilians?

How prohibitive were the NFA tax stamps?

Besides the ones from WW1 & 2, what full/semi-automatic long guns were around on the civilian market? Were there semi-auto or even select-fire M14s being sold to civilians? What about people making Garand to BM59 conversions, or making them take BAR magazines?
