carried handcuffs as LEO for three years, just the ones issued by the department. S&W100s - universal key (a plus and a minus; keys are easy for offenders to get and conceal). But super easy to get replacement keys etc & they work with everyone's cuffs. Different workplaces have different requirements (e.g. prisons) however you should just go with what your department uses.

My dad has this gun and I can't figure out what it is. It has no numbers on it and no names. It fires 30-06 and its bolt action. My guess is that it's some sort of Remington 700 but there are a few details that seem off about it. I highly suspect that someone made it. The gun in the pic is the gun I'm asking about and I will post more pics in a second. I'm hoping you guys can help me.

So I put in an order last Friday with PSA for some routine stuff. 11 Magazines and 300 rounds of XM193. My card was charged but I am yet to receive any type of shipping notification or email from them. There phone Line is disconnected at the moment but the webpage is still up.
Any other /k/ommando's have issues with them lately?

I ordered an upper about a week and a half ago and haven't heard anything. I'm told it's really not unusual for them.
And just a few days before that I called their helpline to cancel an order because the parts weren't right. That went through with no problems.
Really wish they'd ship my upper though, I can't wait to get it.

Title says it all, going to a gun show this weekend, never handled a pistol before. Looking for a piece that is good for home defense and the occasional open carry. 6' 2" 185 lbs white male if that helps any.

S&W or Ruger .357 revolver. You can shoot .38 Specials through it for economy and +P rounds if the full house magnums hurt you. No slide, no slide release, no safety, no decocker, no magazine or mag release, and no need for them. Point and click.
As far as make and model goes, listen to your hands. You'll do much better work with a tool that is ergonomically correct.

I drive a 300zx and the VG30DETT is the most needlessly cramped and complex motor I've encountered (3 Idle Air controllers for example)

Kriss is coming out with variants of its 45 ACP Kriss vector in 9mm, 10mm, and 40. This gun is cool, its 5.5" 45 ACP it's accurate. sub moa at 25 ft np.
illustration is worse sight height but shows issue with Kriss the best. if you set a 25' zero with a red dot this round is going to be climbing still well past 50' and ~10" off zero at 50'. the barrel placement being so far below line of site just makes this gun a rediculous toy.
if every target was 25' w/ a 25' zero you are golden all day, if you are trying to hit anything short or far from zero i hope you are a holdover specialist cause this thing has such a insane variation off zero it's hardly worth pulling the trigger.
thoughts?

What's the drawbacks of having a revolver for CCW? I am looking at the Shield and it only has 1 more round capacity than a revolver. Just the reload speed with a semi auto is better or something?

is that why a strong revolver frame can load rimmed/semirimmed/nonrimmed cartridges, more bullet types that would jam loading into an auto, and depending on the frame strength pack stronger powder loads?
