I've noticed on some boards on 4chan, specifically /v/, that there is a trend of anti intellectualism and critical thinking going on.
Take this thread for example;

On this thread, the OP managed to take an article on a topic, edit it to where it made it sound like it was 5 times worse than it actually was to the point where it was ridiculous (it's still a pretty bad law, but not to the point of complete ridiculousness), and managed to get 200+ replies on it. The problem is, despite the fact this law sounds ridiculous, almost nobody looked for the source article. One of the most important things that is taught to you in high school and college is to look for sources especially on topics like politics or stuff that sounds like borderline conspiracy theories. Yet almost nobody on this board did that, if people will automatically assume this thread was fully 100% true, what's stopping these same people from believing in full conspiracy theories knowing how gullible they are? Why is this trend in anti intellectualism and lack of sourcing/fact checking growing throughout the internet?

there's a fineline between shitposting and believing one's own shitposting. that's how /pol/ meme work; what is alleged to be ironic is repeated so many times and sources are distorted to such an extent to fit meme (read: conspiracy) narratives that people come to relate to and then believe in the memes themselves.

When did you realize that Hitler did literally nothing wrong? I put a lot of thought into it, and the only to actually "win" WW2 would be the have different goals and ambitions, and thus effectively give up and negotiate when you had the upper hand.
But if he did that, it wouldn't Hitler's Germany. So Hitler could have won if he wasn't Hitler, which is an inane tautology.

I know this probably belongs on /v/ but I've never been on that board (nor will I) and this question is more related to history.
Creative assembly has announced that its making 2 Total War games with one being in a historical time period never done before.
What time period would you have it set in?
What map would you have?
What features would you have in it?
What would be the main factions?
I personally would have it from 1815-1914 with the tech tree progressing from Napoleonic line infantry to the opening stages of world war one with red pantaloons and bolt actions (as you progress war gets more violent).
Game play wise a more in depth alliance/ diplomacy system would be great facilitating empires such as scramble for Africa and hopefully by the end of the game you would have two alliances like entente and central waiting for war but not wanting it (in conjunction with tech tree advancements making war more violent). Also more focus on buildings as well as manpower so you can develop colonies and ultimately deploy colonial troops in the final conflict.
It would be a world map and the main factions would be the Great powers of Europe and the USA.
DLC could include scramble for Africa, US civil war, Russo-Japanese war, and Franco-Prussian war
If you don't approve this thread please sage it like the cancer it is but I figure its a welcome break from all the recent /pol/ shit on this board.

Total war has always been lacking in depth of food security and it would be awesome if it could be legitimately used as a means to combat and defeat an enemy without having to confront him in conventional war.

Anon, I don't know why you would think segregation is God's will. Literally no mental gymnastics are needed to point out that the entire narrative celebrates the unification of God's people. If anything you would have to bend like a pretzel in order to extract any narrative that suggests segregation is God's will when every element in the narrative points to a unification under the proper foundation which is righteousness. If the man is remotely right in heart, doesn't matter the race. I can't even begin to understand or see how you could extract otherwise.

My question is which European empire left their colonies in the best state and which in the worst?
For the UK Singapore and Hong Kong are gud along with their white colonies of Canada, Australia, and New Zealand but their african colonies are mixed with Rhodesia being formally ok, South Africa being meh but places like Sudan, Sierra Leone, Nigeria ect all being very poverty stricken and India/ Pakistan having huge wealth disparity.
Is there any European 19th century empire that left its colonies in an amazing state and which of them their colonies in the worst shape.

French African colonies were decent and generally are pretty stable with a few exceptions. They all keep a close relationship with France to this day so they don't seem upset about the past. Especially Algeria, which the French tried to make an official state of France.
French colonies in Indochina fared much worse though and the French generally treated them worse.

You got it wrong. Islam is easier to reinterpret because it's not just the Quran, there are also Hadiths. Basically there are reports that people can choose to believe or not. Violent Islamics choose to believe in the most violent Hadiths.
It also doesn't help that the last written chapter of the Quran is the most violent. The reverse is true for the Bible, with the New Testament being way less bloodthirsty.
