There's a lot of stoic philosophy found in the Talmud. Lots of rabbis of the time found stoicism very interesting and corresponded with it. There's a legend about how the Roman Emperor would consult Judah the Prince (guy that wrote the Mishna) about political, social, and philosophical issues.

Plenty of was and succession crises crop up due to other influential candidates claiming to be better suited.

It certainly is not a perfect system of inheritance, but in principle it is more stable and not victim to subjectivity.

I had a talk with "left leaning centrists" and basically the idea is that wars in the middle east are a method to import migrants by blowing up their houses.
A lot of it in advance was probably a lack of foresight but now I know that people out there are seeing a positive in the millions of migrants we create through wars.

An actually functional and well maintained public transportation system is a luxury that can be afforded by Europeans, but not Americans due to the size of the US in general, as well as competing interests and needs in such a big and populous nation.
