Post impractical, unreasonable behemoths of war before nuclear weapons made everything boring.

I had always dismissed JFK assassination conspiracy theories as the usual sort of nonsense speculations that grow up around such events, but I've been reading more about the matter lately, and I'm starting to question matters. For example:
Jack Ruby in 1965:
>Everything pertaining to what's happening has never come to the surface. The world will never know the true facts of what occurred, my motives. The people who had so much to gain, and had such an ulterior motive for putting me in the position I'm in, will never let the true facts come above board to the world.
(According to the Wikipedia article on Ruby)
Strange matters...
If you think Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone gunman, you're literally retarded. LBJ invaded Vietnam like 2 weeks after JFK's death. LBJ looked happier than ever when JFK died. JFK said he would smash the CIA into a thousand pieces right before his assassination. How much more obvious can a deep state coup get?

>LBJ invaded Vietnam like 2 weeks after JFK's death
Literally wrong.
The first combat troops landed in March '65.
LBJ was obsessed with the Great Society, the Vietnam War was something he hated but felt was unavoidable.
>>3103860
Yeah, LBJ had nothing to do with it. I'm in the grassy knoll and train yard camp. I can't for the life of me imagine how that killshot came from behind him.
How about we have a thread dedicated to historical friendships/alliances for once?

If you're an economically conservative, low-status worker... are you screwed as a prole for life?
>>3103511
Not necessarily. It's probably easier than at any point in human history to go from the bottom to the top.
>>3103518
Cont... however, that still means it's pretty hard.
>>3103518
No, it's the easier point is history to go from the bottom to the upper-middle. Getting to the top is nearly impossible. Becoming the elite IS impossible.
There is no reason to believe that God, If he exists, is a just god. There is no reason to believe that if God exists, he is good. There is no reason to believe God is orderly. There is no reason to believe god is great, anymore than a god that is weak. There is no reason to believe a God won’t be cruel enough to punish you after death for simply existing. A leftist that clings to the Christian interpretation of the creator for argumentative sake, is doing so for the same reason the religious person himself clings to it, to provide structure and stability and to reassure himself when the void looks back at him.
>>3103481
Yes I agree. We could have total revelation proving the bible true in a "coercive" way and we still wouldn't know that God controls anything but our universe nor that he gives a shit about us or doesn't just want to fuck with us. Its all disturbingly remote. The Bible is the last thing supporting omnibenevolence. Even the Jews who don't have that smattering of quotes from Paul and John supporting omnibenevolence think the OT is all about the mercurial nature of God.

I had a really scary episode about this shit. Are you a Christian?
>>3103572
Of course I'm not Christian. Honestly after that Syria strike I had a short lived conversion and my fair share of fear and trembling. I had a moment where I was reflecting on hell and I thought "wow, eternity, I might as well already be there". Went into a total panic attack, sweating profusely, hyperventilating, drinking glasses and glasses of water and finally I'm looking at the bible in absolute horror while it feels like severe seismic activity is taking place in the back of my head. The next day I was totally dissociated and could feel no emotions so I believed I had grieved the holy spirit to the point of committing the unpardonable sin. Was your episode anything like that?
Why is it that populism is seen as bad, but socialism is seen as good?
>>3103272
POPULISM IS MAINLY SOCIOCULTURAL; SOCIALISM IS MAINLY SOCIOPOLITICAL AND SOCIOECONOMIC; ZIONISTS TOLERATE THE MAINLY SOCIOPOLITICAL AND SOCIOECONOMIC, BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE POWER TO PERVERT IT, OR TO SUPPRESS IT; THEY ARE AVERSE OF THE SOCIOCULTURAL, BECAUSE THE FOLKIC ESSENCE OF PEOPLE IS BEYOND THEIR PURELY SOCIOPOLITICAL AND SOCIOECONOMIC PURVIEW, THUS, THEY FEAR POPULIST MOVEMENTS.
Populism typically refers to 'politicians promise change to get elected, act like normal once elected'.
Socialism typically refers to 'sharing costs and risks in order to succeed and share profits'.
>>3103272
Neither is good, they are both authoritarian collectivists opposed to free markets and individualism.

The wheel was a mistake
Why was he murdered?
Because opitmates scum couldn't accept the republic had died when Caesar was a teenager
Roman political elites were fiercely competitive and their entire existence was defined by competition for honors and state offices. Caesar's permanent ascendancy clogged up things at the top, effectively locking a great many ambitious, powerful men out of what they saw as their birthright.
Lots of reasons of course but this is an often overlooked one. This is one of the reasons Octavian did well. He knew to get out of the way and let the aristocrats have their consulships and praetorships and whatnot, while maintaining control of the army and ruling from behind the scenes through his influence and vast clientage.
>>3103162
Because that period of Rome was fucked up time. You have individuals who were probably only concerned about getting personal power and hid behind facades such as defending tradition or helping the citizens of Rome. Then you have people who genuinely believed in what they were doing was right, either helping the common people or opposing violent tyranny that haunted Rome's memory. Finally you got people in between who are most likely goaded into one side or the other. The entire political scene in Rome at the time just seems like a clusterfuck that we ourselves can't be sure about.
Although Caeser probably wouldn't have been stabbed if he hadn't spared so many of his rivals.
