It's to train google image recognition software. The ones where you have to pick "all the pictures with trees". You only have to click 3, but sometimes there's a 4th picture it's uncertain of, so you can click that one and Google gets smarter.

I don't think they're in trouble. iPhones, iMacs and MacBooks will keep on selling well no matter what, simply because the average Apple customer doesn't give a shit and will go with whatever Apple is offering. Almost all of my friends use Apple just because, nobody cares about the specs and such and I can't imagine any of them ever changing their brand of preference simply because they don't need to - if it works and looks pretty it's enough.

It's not too bad these days.

I was running two GTX460's in SLI for awhile and most all games I played ran fine with no issues.

I got them on sale as well $150 each I think and combined they had nearly the same performance as a 480 on 1080p games.

We only know that peak consumption of the 480 is 150w.
We don't know idle power consumption (most important for electric bill) and we don't know load power consumption (for how hot the card runs).

Now you can stop speculating, and stop shitting on AMD. At least until the first benchmarks come out.

Tdp is not power consumption. 1070 and 1080 condone about 160-180w on average.

480's max output limit on PCI Lane and 6pin is 150w. The average will be around 120w
