the issue with this is that European services are tied too closely with global services. the EU knows this and are trying to strongarm world speech law, similar to how the US does with DMCA

Can we all agree that this stupidity over "memes" killed the internet?

A substantial degree of freedom.

>"memes" killed the internet
Memes are the internet, or at least the web. What you're looking for is something more like Usenet or some non-indexed members-only community with strict moderation. That's not how anything public works.

Hey /g/. I'm a student and I'm trying to get a web development position at a pseudo start-up at my university. It's financed by the college and ran by a professor but it's goal is to become independent. It's run by an Economics professor and a QA woman who doesn't know how to code. I could taste the resentment from the student "lead" engineer.

Anyway I just had an interview. Overall I thought it went really well. We talked about the software stack, current development goals and potential changes to the stack. The engineer seemed to like me a lot except for the parts where I talked to the QA woman.

After this 30 minute interview, we're just talking about things related to CS and then they kinda encouraged me to exit because there was another interviewer. I exited stage left but I walked past the room he was in.
Pajeet in full suit and tie.

What are my chances of getting the job /g/? The professor and QA woman are pretty uninformed and were practically begging me to work for them during the preliminary interviewer but the "lead" was pretty stoic.
Picture related. How I feel now.

It's not like this shit is hard or I can't do it but I'm not great at selling myself.

Fuck I'm so fucking anxious.

Welcome to /fglt/. We are always open to users of all levels, including absolute beginners.

There are four ways to try GNU/Linux, you can:

0) Install a GNU/Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes"
1) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full GNU/Linux experience".
2) Dual-boot GNU/Linux with Windows/Mac (recommended if you want to learn more about GNU/Linux)
3) Go balls deep and overwrite everything with GNU/Linux

Before asking, please search for answers to your questions in resources.

Please be civil, notice the "Friendly" in every Friendly GNU/Linux Thread.

Understand that much of your software from Windows will be unavailable, although maybe WINE can make up for it.

IRC connection details:
Server: chat.freenode.net:6667 (no SSL, 6697 for SSL) - Channel: #flt
If you don't have an IRC client (which you should), go to https://kiwiirc.com/client/irc.freenode.net/flt to use IRC on a web client.

I like htop, but it often is infuriating as fuck to use.

Can any anons here recommend an htop-like tool for monitoring only selected processes? I don't need to see a billion Chrome and system processes if I only want information about my two running programs.

I know, I still want to try other programs.

I like how BitLocker is all but confirmed to be backdoored by Microsoft and yet Apple FileVault 2 does full disk encryption that's basically idiot proof and works against law enforcement.

well Win 7 would be installed via USB, out of that.

Mozilla plans to remove themes, has no plans how to bring them back.

In the meantime that disgusting garbage called Vivaldi shows how next gen theming is going to work and they are far from done with enhancing it!

Mozilla, while i hate Vivaldi, you could take a lesson or 2 from this project!

Fuckings to SJW who plan with Mozilla in a joint-venture to remove advanced features because it is not comprehensible for that class of guys without feeling humiliated that they do not understand it!
