for those of you who use the official *tips OS* OS, do you build all of your apps from source? I'm running fedora 23 and have the rpm fusion repos enabled, but it seems like a lot of apps are missing in the repos.

What do you autists do? I'm comfing from ubuntu where everything is pretty much already there.

Modern web design as a whole on average is literally worse than previous generations despite having more things available such as higher bandwidth and larger average resolutions.

It's worse at things and isn't a case of "I don't like it". Being forced to scroll more just in order to see the same amount of content is retarded. So much wasted space on the screen.

I purposefully do not use the web much on my phone because I don't like the interfaces. Lately many websites are mimicking phone interfaces on a desktop computer and it's shit.

When will this autistic nonsense end?

it's fucked up senpai, but if you make buttons too small google punishes you on mobile search results, since your site is not mobile friendly
>>
That website is supposed to host images and display them in a prominent spot. It does what it's supposed to.
>>
>>55378097
The websites that display like 3 words on top of a blurred picture per screen are the worst. They have so much js in them that they lag on slower computers, and there's pretty much no content on them.

The irremovable Hummer is now the number one Trojan in the world, with over one million current victims.

A prolific piece of Trojan smartphone malware which installs malicious apps, games, and continually pushes pop-up adverts onto victim's phones is making its creators as much as $500,000 per day.

When a mobile becomes infected by Hummer, the Trojan roots the device to obtain administrator privileges which it uses to frequently prompt pop-up adverts, as well as automatically installing unwanted apps, games, porn, and malware in the background. All of these actions consume large amounts of data, potentially putting the infected user at risk of large bills from their network provider.

Unfortunately for victims, the malware is extremely difficult to uninstall due to the fact it takes control of the phone at such a deep level, thus Hummer can't be uninstalled with traditional antivirus tools, nor can it be deleted through a factory reset. The fact there are 18 different separate software tools which allow Hummer to root itself on a phone makes it particularly dangerous.

Yeah well everything has a price. Better this then have to deal with all the problems with iPhones.

Also to be fair this only affects those dumbfucks downloading apps outside of the playstore or other trusted sources like github and f-droid.

>be normie
>browse 100s of porn tabs randomly clicking ads
>get sent to a web page that tells you to enable installing unkown apps and having Android beg you to not do it
>do it anyways
>phone becomes infected

Great example of fucking circulative bullshit media
>every "tech news" site running this article has the same shitty information
>no explanation on technical side of operation
>not sure what firmware/android operating systems are infected
>where does it come from? Who the fuck knows, "Chinese makers of virus earning ~500k" HEADLINE
Judging by the demographics and consumer phone relation, one could guess the virus is infecting ancient-ware primitive android installations

There's no reason to learn any programming languages. Nobody will ever hire you, and it's impossible for one person to make a useful application.

If you really want to learn a language, learn something that will give you bragging rights on /g/, such as Befunge. The more obscure and useless the language, the better. Remember, you only really need to learn how to do FizzBuzz.

Or

13 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>

20mbps unlimited.
>>
>>55377783
Unlimited. Although I don't have to choose because I have 100mbps unlimited.
>>
That depends on if the traffic shaping benefits the connection quality overall: by controlling bufferbloat; prioritizing very latency-sensitive services like DNS, SSH, RTP, gaming, etc; not destroying long-lived TCP connections like IRC for no reason; deprioritizing bulk, high-bandwidth services which are not time-critical, so web browsing doesn't get knocked out by a Linux ISO torrent seeding; and most importantly, not arbitrarily throttling shit to low levels or ever blocking anything because you don't like it, or because someone uses a lot of bandwidth and they're an expensive customer, or because the site they're visiting didn't pay the toll ransom even though it's paying its transit.

Traffic shaping is a tool. It can be used for good, and in that form is best implemented in a link-capacity-aware way on a good router.

But ISPs almost never use routers that aren't shit, and almost never truly prioritise connection quality. It has become a tool for double-spacing extortion and outright nation-state censorship, from the conservative universities of the USA to Iran, China, Bahrain, Turkey etc.

It will be a shame to lose traffic shaping as an effective tool, but it is a regrettable casualty in a world where visible, classifiable metadata is a tool for mass surveillance, the biggest attack on the internet to date.

When did everything go so right?

Classic UI, rock solid, less bloat than Windows 8 or 10.

I hate this Windows 10 shit. If I want to change settings I have to go into this half ass Settings "app". Half the shit you need to change isn't even in Settings, and you need to search for the fucking Control Panel. I want the classic Control Panel back, and I want all my settings there.

I came back to Win2K thinking it would be just an older more usable desktop environment, I didn't know that I would be finding a home.

Why for the last 6 years has every version of Firefox mobile crashed sometimes 20-30 times a day over 4 different phones.

Is it really so hard to make a mobile browser that doesn't crash? I have literally gone into the habit of copying and pasting every three or four sentences for the last fucking 6 years I have already crashed twice while writing this when trying to perform the captcha.

That being said Firefox still blows as a mobile browser mostly because of comparability problems. Use Chrome instead.
