My little cousin (10) needs a laptop for school. Got a budget of around $300, so was looking at getting some shitty amd apu laptop for him.
Was looking at what software I should put on it. He needs it for school, and he isn't too tech savvy so I'll chuck on windows 7 and some microsoft office version; whatever I can get.
Other than that, what else should I put on there? I was thinking replace internet explorer with firefox/chrome with adblock, some remote assistance software because no doubt he will fuck it up somehow, and I will teach him how to use veracrypt and incognito tabs.
I remember at that age I did some really, really dumb shit and was pretty embarrassed by it and I don't want him to go through the same shit.

How do I convince my dad that his 12 year old imac is a busted piece of shit?
He uses my old laptop, which is a busted piece of shit as well. When I tell him he needs a new computer or laptop, he assures me he can fix up the imac to make it run "good enough for what he needs". He is shockingly computer illiterate. Can't perform simple tasks like copy/paste, and is totally unable to differentiate between the internet and his hard drive (they're both "the computer" to him)... I found this out when he asks me to send pictures to family members "off his computer", which I find out are fucking posts on facebook he wants to share.
Anyways he won't let me trash this piece of shit imac. It's fucking hideous. Please help.

None of the phone lines go into the electrical box. And the only wire I can see coming into the electrical meter is the large power wire.
I've lived here for years, and no person has ever come here to look at my meter.

Moderate to minimum standards of specific EU / US natonal laws.
Introduce tagged "importance" filters to allow hiding away very detailed descriptions that are only relevant for people who follow the details of national / local topics or even readers of a certain publication.
You could then just enable all topic details that likely are only relevant to people from Los Angeles and who read reddit because they never really made it out of information sources local to these places, and it wouldn't have to be moderated out of WP entirely.
