How does data get sent to over a billion transistors in a clock cycle over only 1151 pins? iirc a Skylake/Kabylake i7 has 1.7 billion transistors, that means each pin has to send/receive signals for 1.4 million transistors.

to be totally honest with you /g/uys, i know very little about hardware and computers. is there any reading you can recommend me that is modern and up to date that will give me a good understanding of the hardware inside of a standard computer and its functionality (in a way that is understandable for someone that isn't an engineer)?? i know hands on learning is probably best, but i don't really have the resources since i don't want to fuck up my only computer which i'm posting from.

went to charge my Nexus 5X, and I noticed that it didn't charge and won't then tried a different cable, hooked it up to my computer and it said "Power surge on hub port. A USB device has exceeded the power limits of its hub port".
