Symbian has been open sourced for years but nobody has bothered working on it.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/symbiandump/
so is webOS which is really nice
luneOS which is based on it is also
>>60374956
webos was so comfy. haven't used it since my palm pre though. miss it.
>>60374451
Not really, open source software has been beneficial to me quite a few times.
help please
Install Gentoo
reinstall windows 10

You suck. Get out!
MacBook Pro (Late 2016, 13.3") CPU vs X220 (2011, 12.5") CPU
How? Why?
macs are a piece of shit covered in soda can aluminum

>geekbench
how can anyone take this so called "benchmark" seriously? geekbench? really? is this some sort of HAHA BIGBANG THEORY SO FUNNY NORMIE benchmark?
The 2013 Pixel (which is $300 new) scores 7k.
I really really like this case, thinking of moving my system to it.
Does anyone know if it uses propietary motherboard form factor or propietary psu?
>>60373581
>DELL
Shit, right? It's shit.

back to >>>/v/ kiddos
Nah
They're just standard matx with an atx psu
I see this fucking button everytime I fullscreen a video. This is a fucking fresh installation and I have someonewhocares as hosts file and adblockplus enabled with all good filters.
Is this happening to someone else?
>>60373191
btw It's a Amazon button and redirects to their verified YouTube Channel.
>>60373191
Define "a fucking fresh installation." Where do you get the install disc?
>>60373418
I had the ISO for a long time, downloaded from Microsoft. (When they were still up)
I'm pretty sure the installation is not the problem. And why would it redirect to a official Amazon channel anyway?
Does it look like there's anything wrong with this VCR at first glance?
I found it on the side of the street and I can't imagine why someone would throw it out
>>60372874
Did you take it apart before turning it on?

>Being an hoarder

Congrats
i am new to linux compared to you guys but i know basic command line commands and i've used ubuntu, lubuntu and arch in the past(not for long though because muh games). i was wondering if it's a decent choice since i'll be probably using vm to run proprietary software like ms office(because university) and maybe some other stuff. i really liked how the distros i used were 5x faster than windows i currently run (windows 7).
>inb4 install gentoo
i'm too retarded for that and i'd have about 1 day to install linux on my machine.
>>60372503
Install literally anything but Debian. The project is shit and no longer has any benefit over any other distro.
>>60372596
I would install some flavor of Ubuntu then but isn't it based on Debian? Also what other distros could I look at? I like Arch but I didn't understand what I was doing when I installed it so I'd probably wouldn't know what to do when it crashes. I know a lot of people use Linux Mint but what are your opinions on it?
>>60372503
buy a copy of rhel and don't fuck with it
Why is AMD so shit
>>60372461
http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/new-cpu-z-upgrade-lowers-ryzen-performance.html lol.

new cpuz seems to gimp everything but kaby
even skylake looks shitty now
i5 7600k is +7% sc and only -18% in multi core
compared to an i7 6700k that has the same 4.2 turbo sc and 200mhz higher clock speed + HT for mc. Taking the 5% difference in speed, ht only scales 13%? why are i7 shilled?
>>60372644
good thing I'm on 17.01
How does one even get this "ransomware"? Literally no thread or article explains it, they just vaguely mention it has "spread." I wanna try it out on an XP VM.
Oops wrong image, was supposed to be a windows logo.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EternalBlue
I got it by connecting to public wifi on an un-patched windows 7 laptop.
I'm looking for people's opinions on car stereo speakers. Who makes the best, which ones are loudest, which ones will take the most power, etc. I'm putting a stereo in a convertible, and I need volume when the top is down. I will probably need to use multiple amplifiers. Any suggestions? Pic not my car.
>>60372106
You're going to want some components front and rear for best sound and a quality 4 channel amp.
If you want to be a niggerbumper just replace the stock speakers with direct fits, pop a 50x4 deck in and get a 500w+ rms amp, a 1 farad+ capacitor and a 12" wooooofer
I'm listening to rock, so over the top bass isn't a requirement. I have space for four large speakers, and then many smaller ones. I made this speaker rack many years ago. I fits along the top of the back seat. It's has older Pioneer speakers in it that won't take much power. I can open the boxes up and install better quality speakers, so there is room for a lot of smaller speakers.
>>60372172
The only stock speaker locations are small ones in the dash. So there is nothing to replace. Larger speakers can go in door panels and rear lower panels.

CPUs:
>G4560 for budget builds (<$500) unless G4620/i3-7100 is heavily discounted
>R5 1500X will keep above 60fps in every game. No i5
>R5 1600 is the best value for higher fps gaming and mixed usage; 1600x if you don't want to OC
>i7-7700k is bad value but good; may have heat issues even at stock clocks
>R7/Xeon for compute/multitask/mixed use. R5 if budget
Graphics:
>G4560 iGPU is fine for LoL, dota2, rocket league, etc
>1050Ti/RX560 for ~$105. Must drop settings for 60hz if not Freesync/Gsync on many games.
>RX570 4GB - 1080p@60+hz, running most maxed; older games at 144+hz
>RX580 8GB - 1440p@60+hz, inject SMAA and drop settings for some games
>1060 - Gets outperformed by the RX 580; consider only if AMD is not an option (ie CUDA)
>1070 - usually not worth the extra cost for Gsync
>1080 - 1080p@90-144+hz maxed; 1440p at lower hz.
>1080Ti - 1440p@90-144+hz; 4k@60hz in SOME games, more at lower settings
>Freesync2 & Vega soon.
General:
>READ PRODUCT REVIEWS on a retailer page to see if that cheap SSD/PSU or whatever is reliable
>Consider larger SSD-only for what you budget SSD+HDD combined. Add HDD later once needed
>NVMe aren't for faster OS boot. They're primarily for productivity as a scratch disk
>Stop fucking confusing any M.2 drive with NVMe. M.2 is a form factor
>mATX is often cheaper as the board+case is usually less
>1 SR DIMM is slower than 2 DIMMs

got the gpu and motherboard as a package deal 10% off. I mostly do some image editing, some games every now and then. Wanted the option to play newer games that my old pc couldn't handle on anything other than low res. Also didnt want my computer to freeze up when I try to zoome out on a picture I am editing.
good enough?
>>60372159
The fuck am I looking at?
You just stacking cards as storage?
>>60372474
It's good enough, but you may want to wait two weeks. A new card is releasing that should drop prices on 1070-80's.
You also have a Z type board for a CPU that you can't overclock.
How do I do this simple shit like adding backround music that autoplays in visual studios? All the fucking tutorials on the internet are from 2012 and way outdated. Nothing fucking works, simple shit like this is annoying.
The only shit I can't find tutorials are pissing me off.
>adding backround music to a project
>adding a countdown timer
>adding custom code to a vb project.
>backround
If you want background music, just play it normally. You sound like a macfag that can't open a file because the program isn't automatically assigned to it.
>>60371744
Background music of the application, you fucking ape.
>>60371682
Just play your music with a separate application, holy shit

Does /g/ know any good Assembly code and C textbook?
I have a class that is mostly translating C code to assembly in a few months, but I'd like to get started on it. Does anyone know a good book I could get in pdf to learn it?
Thanks
When I did work with ARM Assembly, I just used their manual/help files for syntax and stuff.
might as well take a look at RE4B
