What's iOS 11's incredible new feature gonna be? We haven't done one since iOS 8, let's bring back the tradition.

What's really left to do? After convincing retards to nuke their phones or dump them in water, there's not a lot of room to go up. I don't think even an iToddler is going to believe a software update can make their phone drop-proof.

/g/, I'm pretty damn worried about all this Wannacry bullshit. I've never thought about switching to Apple until now. What are the true reasons I should avoid them?

Why don't smartphones come with matte-screens?

Common arguments:
>Colours wouldnt look as good? I had a matte screen protector and it made colours seem very dull
Except the colors won't matter when it's showing your reflection of the light behind you or the sun. Color accuracy literally makes no difference since you're getting fucked by glares and light.

I've got an old pavilion with a celeron d and 512mb or ram.

Looking though the specs it says that it supports up to pentium D.

It has a socket 775 motherboard. But I was wondering if I could put a core 2 duo on it even tho it doesn't say it's supported.

To the anon that told me it could fry the mobo, why? the pentium d is a literal housefire compare to core2duo.

I would understand if it didn't boot tho

why does Thunderbird store IMAP accounts locally by default? Isn't the whole point of IMAP to only store remotely? I purposefully set up this account on IMAP only to find that it saves messages to disk (including any malicious emails)

Isn't it a major security risk to store any email locally because you can't control what is sent to you or does it not matter too much? I assume that there is no risk because the worst that you can store is HTML which means you actively need to enter info into a phising page sent via email.

FAQ
>What is TempleOS?
TempleOS (formerly J Operating System, SparrowOS and LoseThos) is a biblical themed lightweight operating system created over the span of a decade by programmer Terry A. Davis.

>How did TempleOS start?
Development for TempleOS began in 2003 after Davis suffered from a series of manic episodes that left him briefly hospitalized for mental health issues.
Davis is a former atheist who believes that he can "talk with God" and that God told him the operating system he built was God's official temple. According to Davis TempleOS is of 'Divine' intellect due to the inspired nature of the code. According to Davis, God said to create the operating system with 640x480, 16 colors display and a single audio voice. The operating system was coded in a programming language developed by Davis in C/C++ called "HolyC". The OS runs a file system called "Red Sea".

>What can TempleOS do?
TempleOS deliberately has no network support. It runs 8-bit ASCII with graphics in source code and has a 2D and 3D graphics library, which run at 640x480 VGA with 16 colors. The OS contains numerous embedded biblical references including a program called AfterEgypt which allows users to "communicate with God" through an oracle.

Hey /g/, I've been pretty adamant about transferring to Linux for a while since I work with things like Photoshop and Paint Tool SAI, as well as have a few specific windows-only drivers for some things like a capture card and whatnot.

But I've lurked here for a while and a lot of people have been saying that WINE is working pretty well these days, but also that Virtual Machines are the way to go when it comes to that.

I just want to make sure, will it run just as well?

Besides a few select drivers/programs I really don't need windows for anything else, I almost never play games on it. What would be a good VM for that?

If you are rendering videos and playing AAA games, go for GPU passthrough

If you just want a little bit of photoshop or excel use wither WINE or keep windows virtual machine snapshot saved in your desktop
