Spock definitely had this one coming. And on the art note, Copiel FUCKING KILLS IT in this issue. It is the only thing that is keeping me invested. The fact that he could draw Spock and Pete both without their masks on and it be clear as day who is who is a feat not to be taken lightly. Fucking spectacular.

I hate to ask, but just how powerful is Morlun? I don't have the JMS issues on had to check up on exactly what his abilities are. All I know is that he can hit harder than the hulk and tank damage from Spidey like it's no big deal.

Sorry for the delay. Having to collect these issues cause I didn't originally have them on hand.

I never would have expected the spider-family to be this vast. It reminds me of 90s toy lines with their multitudes of variants.

This is why I still bother to read cape comics.

Its spider-men of different universes, a lot of them were created just for this series, and some of them have had stories in the past as What If's or were an anime once. There are been many short tales of various spider-men in the past, so this converges them all and kills a bunch of them off for no reason.

Among the Spider-family in 616 there's usually just five or six members.

Among anime spider-man; the Toku Spider-man makes a few appearances, Spider-man J shows up a few times, and Komori is only mentioned once.

Page is kinda bland, in that sort of way that its written only for the viewer rather than what would really happen. Like you could have these same plot points, but it feels weird because its framed in such an obvious "drama" way.

It reminds me of what I have a problem with Ultimate Spider-man's death, since the entire event and that kid talking to Aunt May at the funeral was just so stilted in dialogue. "You make food like his mommy so you're his mommy", that's not shit a kid says, that's just shit meant to try to twist the knife into the viewer, it only means something to the viewer, which is why it comes off stilted. It doesn't feel natural at all. Hell the entire story comes off as strange because "Green Goblin is mysteriously alive again for (no reason), busts out of prison for the third damn time, in order to do the same plan for the third time, except this time it works". Even Peter's dialogue as he was dying was stilted. I got too much to say about U.Spider-man's death, and his revival.

What I mean though is, it just feels unnatural somehow. Ben just sitting there in a blank boring pose in a blank hallway, instantly saying its Peter even though Peter has a mask on and there's a dozen other Peters there, only Peter is reacting even though naturally they should both react perhaps, something about it is odd.

The "Toldja" dialogue isn't helping. Page is just written to be a meaningless [shock] ending for a comic. "Oh no its alternate universe Uncle Ben. suspense", what does that matter? Its not Peter's Uncle Ben, they have no real history.

Spider verse is probably my second favorite Slott event besides spider island. Goblin Nation was really fun but incredibly rushed.

Everytime Slott tries to say something is going to break the internet most of the time it's something that's insignificant. Like when he was hyping something up in New Ways to Die and it turned out it was Gargan-Venom needing a containment suit and Osborn got him one that looked like his Scorpion suit.

I think the only genuine shock surprise was the Dying Wish/Superior Spider-Man thing.
