And now we officially start the final issue of Amazing Spider-Man Vol. 1
Heading home now. See you guys soon. TODAY WE START SUPERIOR!!!
>>90487292
Fuck yes, the most based era of Spidey begins
>>90487256
>the final issue of Amazing Spider-Man Vol. 1
...until Make Mine Marvel/Marvel Rebirth that is.
Sorry for the delay guys. Had to resize a couple images
>>90487484
Damn straight!
>Still miss pre OMD but I'll take what I can get with Slott.
>>90487583
Here's hoping for another Ultimate Universe
>>90488310
=(
Pete never got to hear this.
They can show Ares literally being torn in half with his spinal column and parts of his intestines on full display for the reader (Siege) but we can't show Scorpion getting his jaw punched off? I know I shouldn't be bitching but WHAT THE FUCKING SHIT IS THIS?!?!!? FUCKING COMMIT TO WHAT YOU'RE DOING SLOTT! Having Pete do the bad thing in front of the reader gives it impact. It can be uncomfortable to watch and that's a good emotion for the reader to experience. None of this "focus on Peter's face/torso and allude to the violence off panel." like Slott is doing here. Ambiguity in action is fine, but when Slott is going to straight up say what happened in the next panel by some other character as expostiry dialog, then it cheapens the fucking moment.
Im lucky all of my friends empathized with how mad this story made me, even though none of them read comics.
Will you be doing Avenging Spider-Man 15.1?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
>>90489090
You know it. I'm doing all of Superior, Scarlet Spider, Venom, Avenging, and Superior Team Up. I'm trying to deliver a true Spider-Experience
So...Pete strengthened the memories that Ock had copied over originally, thereby making Ock slightly less of a dick?
Or is it that as a result of the copy, Ock had to forcibly mentally experience all of Pete's memories from the front row seat rather than picking and choosing as needed?
>>90489291
It's that. Ock relives Pete's entire lives in his shoes and sees that Peter was a good man trying to do the right thing.
Slott's a shit writer so this isn't really clear, but this is basically Superior Spider-Man's Uncle Ben moment.
>>90489365
Uggggggg I shouldn't have to work to piece that together (i know it wasn't to hard of a jump, but considering Slott's love of exposition you would have thought he would have done this).
So Peter died beaten, alone, broken, and cradled in the arms of his executioner. No one is going to mourn for him. No one is even going to give him a second thought. He is a this point...truly nothing.
You're a real piece of garbage, Ock. You literally just murdered Spider-Man.
>Still gonna read the shit out of your series and enjoy the wild ride for all it's worth.
>>90489473
As this anon pointed out >>90489365 he was supposed to be Superior's Uncle Ben so his dead wasn't in vain. His dying wish was for Otto to realize that being Spider-Man is a responsibility.
Of course Slott forgot about this too quickly.
>bendis kills pete
>dies a hero, surrounded by loved ones, gets a great funeral
>slott kills pete
>lol everyone thinks he ock fuck him hahaha
I want slott to rot
Now do you guys want me to end this issue here and jump right into the next story? Or do you want me to post all the remaining pages?
Also does anyone else absolutely love Spock's first costume?
>>90489516
man, how great of a series would Superior be if Slott actually wrote Ock with a respect for Peter and genuinely remorseful (you know, like spider-man was over uncle ben)?
Superior is such wasted potential.
>>90489562
I want you to stop so I can stop reliving this nightmare
>>90489562
>We don't even get to see Otto and Peter fight each other again mentally
Issue 9 still pisses me off to this day fuck you Slott REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>90489575
Yost kinda did this in Superior Team-Up
>>90489577
How about you Peace out of here and solve your problem? Don't want u here if that's ur attitude
>>90489623
That's because Yost was one of the very few writers who approached the concept with an angle other than "moustache twirler in spidey's body and everyone's too retarded to tell", bless him.
I decided to go ahead and storytime the rest of this issue.
>>90489663
How can it be helped? Story times are always on the front page since they are constantly active, its not my fault this comic is shit
Had to resize this image.
>>90489562
Remember this was a present to Stan Lee
>>90489757
Please tell me Stan The Man Lee wasn't thrilled.
>>90489802
He said something like "How wonderful I get a dead Spider-Man on my birthday"
Normally you'd think he's just joking until you realize he has an intense passive-aggressive sarcasm
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmLFGWAyajU
>>90489861
>"How wonderful I get a dead Spider-Man on my birthday"
I wouldn't even have to know Lee and I can see the seething sarcasm in this line. There's some venom there.
Thought storytime of pain was during the weekends
>>90490019
Well, that was bittersweet. Feels like a good conclusion to Spider-Man's life. Kinda realistic in a sense.
>>90489562
I enjoyed his first costume. It was familiar but creepy.

Slott told Lee and Andrew Garfield that Peter would come back ahead of time
>>90488720
>That neck
God I hate Ramos
Ouch.
Good page.
Another good page. It's almost as if Yost has a really good take on this complicated character. I don't know what's going on.
Just one of many pages of Peter sitting in a chair looking inquisitively contemplating.
>Like an underwater walrus.
Fucking gold. Also whenever i feel disgusted at the idea of Ock taking over Peter's body, I reimagine it as Alfred Molina from Spider-Man 2 taking his body, not the fat walrus (I GET IT NOW) that is Ock.
Love this page.
If anybody could list all the changes Ock implemented in his first Superior costume it'd be super appreciated.
Schweet
>>90491502
>It takes another writer to make anything out of slotts excrement
Its incredible what they can do with such a pile of shit
And now we officially start Slott's wild ride!
Stegman killed it on these first couple issues.
>>90487256
I used up all my stupid pills when this run first happened. I'm not buying anymore.
I'm in love with this suit
I enjoyed that this and the following pages were promotional images for the new series. If this was all you were exposed to it would seem like Peter wasn't under the mask....or at least not in the sense that we were thinking.
Glad to see Speed Demon's actually a threat rather than a punchline.
This page makes it seem like Boomerang is throwing a fit that Spider-Man isn't playing fair...which is right after trying to slit his throat with a Boomerang. I can't tell if this is badly written or if Boomerang is just a retarded hypocrite.
>>90489821
> Cyclopsneto
> Sentlock
> Namor Hellstrom
these were a neat bunch of characters for a oneshot.
Max Modell always rubbed the wrong way. He's like a condescending douchebag that loves when things go his way but acts high and mighty literally ANY chance he gets. He has no leg to stand on when giving Peter shit after employing Morbieus and look how well that turned out.
>The view.
God damn it Spock
Absolutely love the texture of Shocker's costume.
Ha! It's like he's applying ACME floor slick
This looking painful for everyone
>>90492839
Homophobe
FINISH HIM!!!!!!!!
Wish Slott didn't reveal Ghost Peter in the first issue but all that aside, I loved it.
>>90493067
Stop projecting. It's embarrassing.
>>90492083
I think it's just the goggles and claws. The claws seem a bit redundant anyways with the whole "cling to walls" bit.
>>90493098
UGGGG CAN'T I EVEN SPOILER CORRECTLY!?!?!
Switching to Avenging SPider-Man #16
>>90493108
You're missing a few things. The disconnected gloves and boots from the main costume. The swapped color scheme from red/blue to red/black. The emblem on his back also got enlarged and I think Ock generally emphasizes his physique more than Peter did (could be imagining this).
>>90493098
Stop getting fanny flustered over jokes. It's embarrassing.
>>90492900
> that last panel
FEELS SUPERIOR, MAN
Also the webs on his face appear to meet in the middle in a much more pronounced way than previously. Also the spider on his chest also looks larger than previously.
>>90493198
Someone seems butt blasted at my sick retorts.
One might even say anally anguished.
>The die is cast.
I had never heard that expression until this comic. Had anything else popularized it until this comic or not really?
>>90490019
that's a nice story
>Move your people.
EVERYONE GET PREJUDICED UP IN HERE!
>Spider-Man seems a little edgy.
He seems like a rational human and hasn't responded out of the ordinary in the slightest. "Got ya, Stormy" was a more than satisfactory response to get rid of suspicioun
As much as I hate Wolverine, this was probably uneccesary. I nudge or push would have been more than fine. Webbing him up from head to toe would have been fine too. Slugging him in the face, maybe not so much.
Good save. Nicely done.
Good on you for calling out telepaths! That doesn't happen enough. See Jean Grey in All New-Xmen to see the worst of the worst.
Fantastic.
>>90493837
Love this cover.
>>90492807
i Absolutely love seeing pete in a mad scientist coat
Absolutely terrible writing in that last panel. Trying to retroactively make something a part of a characters personality is shit writing
Spock you glorious bastard. You're a weird mix of arrogant, old fashioned, cheesy, and endearing. Not the best combination of traits but certainly no worse than Peter "Self Sabotaging Pussy Whipped" Parker
Great page
Suck it, Peter!
That 3x3 grid is SEXAH!!!
>>90493961
When did Peter ever say that? I don't recall him saying that so far in Slott's run.
>>90494173
NOt once. It was done for the sake of a joke...or progressing the plot. All I know is that it failed on both accounts.
>>90490019
definitive end of Spidey for me here. Like this is how I imagine post civil war spidey would have gone. MJ and Pete retiring under different names and living the end of their lives in peace.
YOU FOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!
>>90490019
>Glenview
>swinging around in Chicago
Nigga, Glenview's 30 minutes away from Chicago
>source: i live next to the UIC and I have a client in fucking Glenview go look it up on Google Maps, retards
>>90494387
Send Slott an angry email telling him to get his shit together.
Love it.
Glad to see Carlie got over his distaste of seeing Peter unmasked while in costume.
A lot of things to love about the art on this page. The spider-lenses are particularly beautiful to look at. Also Stegman is a god at portraying Spidey's rogues gallery in their old-school costumes.
Makes you wonder what would have happened if Pete hadn't been such a verbally abusive opponent over the years. Aside from maybe one or two villains, I don't think most of them would take him at face value.
Oh fuck
>>90493364
I meant to point this out, but in one of the earlier issues, I believe Thor actually says the exact phrase. Not sure if it was intentional on Slott's part, or if he maybe just thought it sounded elevated or something.
TEAR OUT HIS EYES! YOU PUT CLAWS ON YOUR GLOVES FOR A REASON!
>The Spider-Man I know would never do something like this. Never.
Carlie...Peter has literally ripped someone's face off with his bare hands. Not Spock. Peter. This isn't something he's done only once. He's employed it a couple of times. You don't have the faintest clue what he was capable of. You dated him for a couple months and you think you know what he's capable of? You scratched the muther fucking surface. Sorry, but arrogantly self-righteous characters make my blood boil.
>>90494729
it seems like when ever spidy gets a suit upgrade it all goes to the eyes
Back to Avenging for a couple issues. I feel like alternating Slott and Yost is really rounding out Spock's character in a way I didn't quite get the first go around. It's weird to see both stories intertwined with each other as they both have different feels.
I completely forgot about this iteration of the FF. How was this series?
I would have just walked out and called it a day.
>>90487256
Finally! The Superior era can begin again.
>>90495060
Been a long time since I read it but I recall it being received better than Fraction's Fantastic Four run. Allreds are good, only thing I outright hated was Fraction's botched attempt at having one of the Moloids identify as trans.
DEATH'S HEAD?!?!?!?
>>90495112
If I were to do a Fraction thread at some point would it be essential to add that in there? Currently I'm thinking...
Defenders
Invincible Iron man
Casanova
Hawkeye
ODY-C
Sex Criminals
FF/Fantastic Four
Mighty Thor
RIP AND TEAR!!!
I love that Ock realized the children would have never listened to Peter.
>Respect and fear.
Parent of the year.
>>90489968
Daredevil Fury...Is he blind in both eyes or not?
They're all working on homework assignments! I love it! Also flustered Shulkie melts my heart.
I love that from the beginning of Yost's series, you can already tell he's building towards something. Can't wait to switch to Scarlet Spider once I hit a break point in Superior.
Last issue for the night. Hope everyone has been enjoying these threads
>>90489562Hope it's returning for Secret Empire.
Looks who's finally back!
That is one sexy costume
Can't keep a good villain down.
Every single issue someone makes a remark that Spidey isn't acting like himself. I'm going to make note of every interaction and see if there's actually a difference or it's just being written as so.
Interaction 1 between Thor and Spider-Man: Thor is a condescending dick that thinks he's untouchable. Spidey makes a snide remark and swings away. Completely within Spidey's character if he got brushed off like this but one of his teammates that's supposed to value his input.
>>90495346
Fuck yeah! Love me some Kaine!
Our boy certainly looks good sitting in that chair contemplating his next move.
Considering the ego on Ock, just how smart is he? Top ten Marvel Scientists smart?
Interaction 2: Even after Thor basically ignored him, Spidey came back a second time to warn the arrogant Asguardian. Thor still thinks he's top shit and brushes off Spidey's warnings. End of interaction, Thor's a cunt.
Interaction Number 3: Thor is about to strike at Electro and thus ensure armageddon and Spidey stops him just in time. Thor gets pissy and then Spidey has to explain why he had to stop him
Interaction 4: Thor realizes he's not much use now and tells Spidey to come up with a plan. Spidey accepts. No negative interactions.
Interaction 5: Spider-Man tells Thor to attack Electro, Thor questions him and Spider-Man screams at him to do it (calling him a "fool")
>Your manner is disrespectful.
FUCK OFF THOR! Spock literally did nothing wrong. Throughout this entire adventure Thor was an egotistical ass-clown that nearly killed everyone in the state after being repeatedly warned to not underestimate his foe.
That's a very good question, Otto. A question that I think is best answered another day. I hope everyone enjoyed this Superior Slott thread and I hope to see you guys tomorrow with the follow up! Hopefully this thread can manage to stay alive tomorrow. Here's hoping.
>>90495665
Thanks for doing this man, been following since Thread 1, I've read a decent amount of Slott's work on ASM but not all of it so it's been nice to fill in the gaps, I also missed out on Avenging so that's an added bonus!
>>90495690
Glad to be able to provide a service! If at least one person enjoys this thread it's all worth it.
BUMP FOR SPOCK!
