>tfw trying to make an honest living and career out of animation, comics, and illustration
>that gradual realization that this career is really made for rich art student kids and fanatical asians, and that there's very little place for uneducated american poor fag unless you're willing to starve yourself
>even if you get a job to sustain yourself the amount of effort expendature means you'll never have time to do much of anything and it will take years for you to go anywhere
>as we speak animation and comics are becoming more and more incestuous and you basically have to travel to places like Brazil or France if you want any kind of meaningful future that isn't just as a 3d rig animator at Disney AT BEST
I mean, I get it, you gotta work hard anyway and you gotta be competitive and it's a hard knock life
But damn, man
God damn
>tfw an american is sad while you're pretty much getting fucked to death by the government in Brazil
>the gradual realization that you'll never have money to leave and that any kind of art job will fail because the country doesn't consume art and it's too expensive to export

Oh, sure, it's EVERYONE's fault but yours. Cry more.

Damn, last I heard weren't you guys getting on the up and up animation wise because of some recent broadcasting law regarding airtime for national content, similar to canada?

What would be the ideal Outlaws team?
>>90574519
There was literally nothing wrong with the OG team.
>Pic Related was the best team for Jason Todd.
Personally liked the abnormality of the the multiverse angle the team had.
But a good runner up team would be:
Jason Todd

>>90573263
I've never been more pumped for a superhero show in my life. I absolutely loved the pilot and I feel the tone and costume design are some of the best things about it. Ridciulous over the top heroes are widely known and creating a campy vibe with the low budget costumes (power ranges tier) adding to effect. Then right when you think what the show is it pulls a 180 and introduces absolutely insane batshit concepts like weaponized syphilis, henchmen taking out heroes execution style, and taunting children after just killing his father. I was speechless. It's a tone that I hope to replicate in my own work
>>90573263
Hope they do the same for Arthur.
...that was just an insane mess.

Officially better than Iron Fist.
My grandfather really liked it. I don't know anyone else that did.

It is very much a show of its generation
I liked it, but the show itself had its ups and downs

>Hela is revealed to be imprisoned for a very long time, and Odin's absence allowed Hela to escape her imprisonment
>Hela is after pieces of a very powerful weapon
>Odin is in care of Dr. Bruce Banner
>Odin reveals that he divided the weapon into four pieces which is all possessed by asgardians
>one of which is Thor's hammer, Mjolnir
>Thanos is rumored to make an appearance
What do you think of it? Anyone else think that Hela is Death, as in Thanos' death and that when Ragnarok ends, and Thor beleives that he has prevented it, Thanos will arrive to Asgard via the tesseract with his army and annihilate it for Hela?
nother mcguffin?
Be honest /co/, after the success of Logan, are you hyped for Ragnarok, Gotg, JL at all? Logan really set up a high bar there
>>90556598
Not really as far as entertainment goes. Logan was good for a gritty old man but Ragnarok is for the fans
GotG is for the kids
GL is gonna try and be for the fans but I'm having trouble with figuring how they'll handle everyone that isn't Batman or superman.
You left out WW btw
>>90556598
I'm not super hype but I'm also not comparing it to Logan because that movie scratches a different itch than this one would aim to and so I don't consider them to really be in competition.
Different properties give you different things -or at least they're supposed to.
Having said that, of the remaining comic book movies this year I think I'm looking forward to GotG and maybe Spider-man.

I fucking knew it, I fucking called it. I mean, maybe it is bad, I haven't seen it but so far it looks like IF is getting shredded because not muh diversity issues.
Danny got shafted by being the follow up to JJ and LC because now all the netflix shows are expected to revolve around social issues. Fuck me.
>>90529620
So angry I forgot some of the text
>The Verge: With any property that touches on the politics of the day, there really is a rush to judge its merits before it comes out, when patience might better serve the would-be critics. After all, Marvel has earned enough goodwill since Daredevil premiered in 2015 to hope that wrestling with its inherently problematic source material might give its latest series a charge, and make it current and relevant. The sad truth, however, is that Iron Fist is the weakest of Marvel’s Netflix series to date. As far as diversity, representation, and appropriation go, the series fails in a number of ways. But, over the course of its first six episodes, it also manages to fall short on basic levels like storytelling. Its creative laziness bankrupts the entire show. Marvel’s new series is a disappointing case study in studios needing to try harder to tell difficult stories well.
>Variety: Iron Fist is the most frustrating and ferociously boring example of Netflix Drift [pacing problems] in some time...It takes forever for anything to happen on Iron Fist, and as it stumbles along, the uninspired production design, unexceptional cinematography, and painful dialogue fail to distract the viewer from the overall lack of depth, detail, or momentum...Good luck, bingers: Getting through two episodes was a challenge.
MIC: ron Fist isn't a terrible show by any means; if it aired on the CW, it might have even felt like a revelation. But Netflix has earned high expectations for its superhero shows, ones that have been able to effectively tackle heavy topics like sexual assault. When it comes to The Defenders, Iron Fist just doesn't pack enough of a punch.
>>90529620
>implying that being a rich hipster isn't a social issue
>>90529620
>CNET: As the last member to join the roster of Netflix's "Defenders" crossover, "Iron Fist" felt like the chance to broaden the TV universe's gritty scope with levity and more fantastic elements, especially in a post-"Doctor Strange" world. It comes tantalisingly close to indulging in over-the-top action, but after half a dozen episodes, you're left with the impression that everyone involved is maybe taking a show about a kung fu master who once hugged a dragon to death a little too seriously.
>THR: Through six episodes, in addition to failing to introduce a main character I care about at all, Iron Fist hasn't given me any season-long arc/objective that I could describe for you, much less one I'm curious to see resolved — and that's before it hits that wall between episodes 7 and 12 that none of the Marvel shows has been immune to. For heaven's sake, Iron Fist has already wasted the "Is our hero actually crazy?" gaslighting episode, a structural conceit that doesn't work when you ask the audience to question everything we think we know about a character before we actually know anything about the character. With a big four-hero mashup allegedly unfolding out of Iron Fist, this misstep couldn't have come at a worse time for Marvel and Netflix. It's a good thing I really like Daredevil, Jessica and Luke.
