You don't even understand what this is, do you?
>>
When the hacker offers extremely high fees (eg. $1000 per transaction) lets see how that works out.

This is what is called a dilemma, whatever the eth community does it will be bad.
Dont soft fork, 1000s of neckbeards will rage against eth for years.
Soft fork, eth as a neutral, incorruptible financial base system loses all credibility.

Divest is the only reasonable strategy unless you are a high volatilty gambler.

Are MBAs just as useless as English majors?
6 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>1320755
MBAs are largely about networking and building a large number of valuable contacts in different fields. You don't get an MBA unless you're already established in your chosen field (or at least you shouldn't). Like almost any additional qualification after a degree, its about adding value to yourself as an employee and leveraging yourself into greater positions of remuneration and responsibility.
>>
>>1320775
Adding on this, Most if not all reputable schools will not accept students that do not have at least 2 years of work experience, so you shouldn't be able to get the MBA right away. It doesn't help if you did regardless
>>
MBA is itt tech tier at this point. Every useless manager has one. You would be better served taking excel classes.

In December I left Northern Illinois to move to Tennessee with my mom. I have no family besides her and she has none besides me and wanted me to come down so I've been down here and I feel like there is nothing for me. The women are either married, in long term relationships or hick as fuck/ugly. I am 22 years old and I know its probably time I moved out. I was moved out for 2 years in illinois but moved back to help her with the move and stuff. She wants me to stay here but I sort of want to go back up to illinois. I have no purpose or direction though. I was at school to be a personal trainer, was there 2 years in illinois and decided to take the ACSM test, blew 750 bucks on it for retests and shit and ended up flunking out. Then I had a shoulder surgery from an injury that hasnt healed quite fully yet. But I wanted to move back to get an apartment atleast because I know there are people my age and maybe go back to school up there and talk to my main teacher and tell him what happened and see if we can figure something out so I can take a test to become a trainer. RIght now I am a server at a country club, old people talk shit to me all day basically. I just need to find my way. Should I stay here? Or do you think theres better opportunity in illinois for me. I currently have 0 friends here and dont know where to meet them. I don't smoke or drink so i'm "boring" to most people my age apparently.

tldr: Is there more opportunity for a happy life in illinois than tennessee?

Anyone on /biz/ algorithm trade? How does one get started with this? Any resources or courses to recommend?

Do, but I have an Asian that lives next door that very well could be. Assuming, as unlikely as it is, that the Asian is both the sharpest mathematician and cooperative, how would I go about this?
>>
>>1320704
I gave it a try a while ago. A halfarsed try but a try none the less. I tried making an algorithm that traded the companies in the s&p500 with trades lasting for 3-10 days. I got mixed results during testing and i had other things to do so i stopped working on it.
Now for the advice part:
You can get free historic days ohlc data from yahoo. This was also the reason i tried making an algorithm that makes trades over multiple days.
I suggest you try to make an algorithm for day trading because there's less chance of news fucking your shit up.
Lastly managing risk is arguably more important than finding good trades

would you say £2000 is a good sum to keep as an emergency? Where do you hold your money? I have invested in pic related and I'm thinking of chucking another 2 or 3 grand into it
>>
I put in half my weekly pay into my savings, a quarter into stocks, and the remainder as disposable income.

http://www.mercurynews.com/business/ci_30027782/santa-clara-county-job-market-booms-reaches-all

>Santa Clara County's red-hot job market is more than just booming -- it has surged to a level not seen since the days of the dot-com boom. Fueled by a gain of 5,800 jobs in May, the South Bay ventured into record territory, reaching an all-time high for jobs and leading the Bay Area in employment growth last month, according to a state labor report released Friday.

>Despite the rebound in tech, experts pointed out that the technology industry is much changed from the dot-com era. Gone are thousands of computer and electronics manufacturing jobs. In their places are internet, social media, software, networking and mobile tech jobs.

We're in another dotcom bubble. The NASDAQ peaked at 5210 on 7/17/15 like it did at 5048 on 3/10/00. VC money has dried up, as everyone has iphones now and the market has cooled. Meanwhile the only places where growth could be possible (the BRICS) are experiencing recession. Companies like Uber can blow through two billion a year without profit, at some point investors pull the plug. That point will be reached within the next 6-12 months.

so what do you suggest we do?
>>
5048 plus 15 years of inflation and I might believe you.
>>
>>1320599
You're high, Uber hasnt even IPOd yet. The money only dries up when investors stop getting paid and theyre still getting paid big time.

I can confirm the econony here is booming, however. I'm in highend construction and contractors are busier than I've seen since 2007

Go write for zero hedge.

This guy >>1320615 makes a great point. We're nowhere near 2000 levels.

Hey biz. Just wondering what some of you think is going on with the stock market lately. This past week was a rough ride for a lot of biotech stocks. I'm at a loss as to what caused it and am a little worried about it continuing.

Would love to hear your thoughts, advice, memes, etc.

Also, what is your outlook on 401k's? I mean I've done the basics by just checking the past 15-20 year performance but I'm wondering if there is something else I should check.

Here is a set of boobs for your troubles.
