Yes.
Im a stocker.
With the release of the pimp new 480 on the eve, is now a great time to invest in a GPU mining rig, especially for eth which prefers AMD cards?
The 480 is seriously underpriced by AMD in order to get themselves back on the shelves right now, since raw numbers alone just arent enough. People are buying nvidia through sheer word of mouth, which means AMD had to undercut their profits on their new card to get back into households, since people will always follow their wallets.
Whats this mean? Basically the next gen AMD card is going to be exceptionally stronger than the previous gen, and yet 50~60 bucks CHEAPER. Which means the $ per hash rate is going to be epic.
So, what do you guys think?
Link to my theoretical build:

If the rumors are true, this will probably be the best mining GPU on the market by the buck, if you have the PSU/MOBO to support it.
gpu mining is dead
>>1319709
I thought ETH was most effective to be mined by GPUs, especially AMD, since it relies on OpenGL, which AMD GPUs are optimized for.
Based on the numbers, dollar for dollar a massive x16 AMD GPU rig would far outclass any other rig by price, for ETH.
Am I wrong?
Just a daily reminder that you're all broke faggots trying to shill imaginary coins on a tiny message board because you're so stupid you think $10 of joiners will make the price skyrocket so you can pump and dump them, to each other, blatently.
Lol morons.
I guarantee I get no replies because you all have aspberger's syndrome.
Typical nocoiner COPE. People like you have no idea even when an opportunity hits you in the face. Stay retarded, and stay poor

>blatently
It's "blatantly".
I've been thinking of taking a gap year or term before going to college for January or next summer (I'm I8 just graduated HS). I'm not sure it's worth it, unless I can get good work experience or make enough money for it to be worth it. (I want to study Business Admin/Law)
What would /biz/ do? How could I make the most of a gap year?
no. delete this shameful thread and get on working now
no. just fucking stop waiting for life to begin you faggot and go work hard at something
I'm sorry but I just don't care so here's a bump.
18 and finished highschool.
is anyone willing to give me financial advice?

What are some way you minimize your expenses, and maximize your savings? Ex
Diy home goods, coupons, cheap retail sites, growing food, etc.
I'll start - buying in bulk, use clothing lines in summer, if it's yellow let it mellow if it's brown flush it down, grow own fruits & veggies, use reward cards for stores whenever possible.
Throw some ideas niggers.
1. Don't eat out
2. Don't have children
3. Keep renting goy
Thrift stores and $$ stores.
I'm 18 and about to go to college a year from now. I just applied for a minimum wage job. My friend works the job also, and he says that shifts are no longer than 6 hours, and they only allow you to work 3 days a week. I'm are also payed bi-weekly. Assuming I work, for the maximum time allowed, I will only get 291.6 before taxes every two weeks. Then after paying for the fucking faggot retarded boomer's social security, and other taxes, I'll probably only have $200 bi-weekly. Why shouldn't I just trade/invest meme stocks to help pay off college? I have about 1k saved up now, and I can definitely make more than 200 every two weeks trading. From starting with 600 less than a couple of months ago, I think I can really up my game with enough effort. What do you guys think, should I stick with minimum wage, or up my trading game?
The best move for you would be to save up that minimum wage. Unless you have full ride scholarships, deans scholarships and grants that will pay for your colleg, your minimum wage job and saving up will save you from defaulting on loans when you graduate.
Open one candy bar at a time, my friend
>>1319517
>saving up will save you from defaulting on loans when you graduate.
but why-so? Because it's consistent income and stocks are not? If I was able to consistently turn a greater profit, bi-weekly off of meme stocks, shouldn't I do that? I guess I'm asking, What are the benefits to the min job vs the meme job?
>>1319538
Stocks can fall in value. Lets say you invest 1000 and the market crashes, you lose everything. Then youll have nothing to pay your loans off and your credit score with financial institutions can suffer as well.
With stable income, your money will sit in a bank and slowly grow as you contribute more income, then when you graduate and have trouble finding a job but still have debt to pay off, all that money you saved will go towards paying off the loans monthly so you dont default and fuck up your credit.
Thats just what I would do if I were you, especially since the market is pure american capitalism on steroids and youre in college.
I know you can short ETH through poloniex margin trading but I've never done it before. Is this good idea at the moment till it falls to about $8USD? can someone explain the process of shorting and how I do it?
Shorting is buying low and selling high over a short period of time. Now is a great time to short because Ether is super volatile
I usually monitor Australian exchanges and on Friday night I saw it go from $17 to $30 in 4 hours. I didn't short though cos I was a faggot who bought at $25 so I'm going to have to hold for now.
Shorting is high risk and stressful.
>>1319414
hahahh oh I thought you make profit if it devalues so wouldn't you make profit if you shorted at 25 and it went down to 15 what it is now?
also can a short go fucked up and put you in debt? on poloniex it sais to put money into margin account to be able to short but is it possible if I invested 200 to short for me to be in debt thousands of dollars if it went wrong?
>>1319373
A short can get fucked! You can have your margin account liquidated.
Great time to short though. When you select loan rate on polo, put .018. It automatically sets it to 2, but loans are going for super cheap.
My short is averaged at .0139, still holding strong. Gonna take profit asap then reassess what to do next. Eth is excellent for trading today.
What are you supposed to do when your plans for your career come into conflict with your family's expectations of you?
I come from an old-fashioned Italian family (Everyone stays together, kids live at home until they get married, etc.), but I want to work in PR for race car drivers, which will naturally mean I have to move away from home. My father is a successful businessman who thinks I won't make any money doing PR and will have a shitty life, and my grandparents are in their 90s and are trying to convince me not to move away from home (My grandpa wants me to make a pension in some government job, but that's just old man talk). I know that the decision is mine at the end of the day, but I don't know how I'm going to make a future for myself without hurting them or disregarding their feelings.
Has anyone else ever had a similar experience where their families didn't want them to do something career-wise?
>>1319303
grandad want's me to get any government job for pension too, dad want's me to be a diplomat since i already speak enough languages and the benefits and retirement are insane, but not only do i not want to work for the government, but i think i would be able to earn much more in private / my own business
Honestly there's no way out, at the end of the day they will be happy if you are happy, and are just looking out for you in their own way.For the living at home i honestly have no problem living at home with parents and 5min walk of granparents, i love my family and we have always celebrated everything together

>family's expectations
stopped reading right there.
live life for yourself who gives a fuck what anyone wants you to do because in 50 years they will likely be dead and you will still be around to live with whatever choice you made. do what you want
>>1319338
>>1319303
Working for the government is always secure, cruisey work. yeah you'll never be 'rich' but you'll never face the prospect of failure or poverty and that redution in stress can improve your quality of life as much as $millions.
Listen to your Dad's, they've faced all the same thoughts and challenges as you and have a bit more insight and experience to make decisions off.
Of course the other thing is that even more secure than a government job is a family's love. If you really wanna do PR for racing drivers, they'll love you no matter what and they'll be there to support you if everything does fall apart.
So chase your dreams, but remember that your family always does have your best interests at heart.

How should I make money from programming if I don't want to get a job?
>>1319241
There are Pakis that will do everything you can do for $10/hr or less. You know who wins the bids when a company is looking to hire a developer? It isn't the American demanding "a living wage."
The answer is, you don't.
>>1319255
this is true. i live in the third world and i'm doing web development for 1.2$/hour
So I'm 25 and flat-out own a house and a car, paid for with cash. I don't have any credit cards and have no credit history. Is there any benefit to me opening up two credit cards? I was thinking of getting one from Costco due to me getting gas there and one at Amazon due to me getting things there. Would it be better if I just got one or should I not even bother? For reference, I intend to pay them off every month.
>>1319215
If you can get a loan at 1%, and can invest your cash at 4%+... you're a dipshit to not use credit. The couple hundred thousand dollars you dumped into a house or car could have been in your investments earning you money, while the Jew gave you their money at a lower rate to spend on the property.
There is a reason every billionaire richfag still uses the banks instead of spending the money hidden under their mattress. The Jewry is designed to make the rich money by stealing it from the stupid poorfags.
>>1319215
If he's 25, I'm assuming he inherited his house and didn't buy it with cash himself.
can I get away with lying about how long I worked at places on apps/my resume? would this show up on background checks?
>>1319036
>if you won't have sex with someone because you are unattracted to them then you are scum
Uhm ok?
Yes it would. They call and ask your former boss.
>>1319036
>>1319063
No it wouldn't.
Lie away, worst case scenario - They don't hire you when they check your references, but they weren't going to anyway so it's not any loss.
It's not illegal to lie on your resume, it's only illegal to lie about your education or some sort of license (like a medical, law, et cetera license).
