Why do people still buy baseball cards? It's the most archaic thing ever, yet I still see them at every Target. Is it seriously just the boomers doing it? I understand back then, you couldn't just pull up the player stats on the fly like you can now with your smartphone. Doesn't make any sense other than collecting them for nostalgia purposes.
pic related. It's been sitting in some guys closet for 30 years and probably sold for less than what the idiot paid for it.
Sports cards went through a large change in the last 30 years. They went from cool collectibles to total trash and then to lottery tickets. In the 70's people collected the cards as a past time but as the collecting aspect got more popular several companies decided to print cards like fuckin crazy which made them worthless. These days in order to move cases of cards producers put redemption cards in the packs for pieces of memorabilia. A player card probably isn't worth shit but grown men will pay to have a chance at a signed game ball or a jersey or some shit.

Good explanation. Did not know this. Now how do we do something like this but for millennial weebs?
>>1903342
I didn't know this until I went to a few card shops in Japan, but there are thousands and thousands of anime girl cards. I think there's a TCG for just about every FOTM anime. Any shop that doesn't specialize specifically in Magic or Yu-Gi-Oh will have display case after display case filled with them. A friend of mine even bought a few to use as tokens when he plays Magic.
So, just import those.
This is the solution for the BTC dramz desu familam

Paper wallets and wake me when it's over.
>>1903337
>SHA256 ASIC miners is super niche
>only the largest miners R&D and make them
>keeps the newest hardware for themselves, only sell outdated hardware
>unilaterally threaten the network with your hashing power
>BTC devs announce they can do a user-activated PoW algo change
>makes everything miners currently own invalid
>memory hard algos (cuckoo cycle, cryptonight) make R&Ding ASICs near impossible at current scales, bringing mining back to the CPU/GPU level
>>1903344
Your paper-wallet won't do shit if BTC hardforks and just becomes yet another shitcoin after it loses "muh oldest chain" memevalue.
ETH is going to flop, isn't it?
Yes sell now.

Sup with the $40?
I'm looking at investing in retargeting my website. I'm signing up with a legit website management company that is in my industry and I want to start retargeting after they revamp my website. I googled and found Adroll. Does anyone have any experience with them? Is there a better retargeting company?
Retargeting is just a feature, lots of ad networks offer this. SiteScout, Adsense, Facebook I think, Admob for mobile stuff, etc.
Different ad networks have different traffic demographics; you should try lots of self-serve ones with low initial funding, see which perform best for your stuff, then either continue tweaking your ads on there (obviously), negotiate direct deals if there are a few specific sites that are converting really well (by just emailing or calling them), or eventually move on to expensive media buys if you're really rocking with profits.
>>1903338
>you should try lots of self serve ones
Which ones are self serve? Thanks for the reply btw.
>>1903341
All the ones mentioned above, plus off the top of my head, um...Bing, AOL sponsored listings, Trafficvance (adware pop-ups), Plenty of Fish might still be, Myspace (it works sometimes), a zillion mobile ad networks. But Facebook has really good traffic and incredible targeting options (all that shit about 'it's not free, you're selling your personal info!'? this is where that comes into play) and Adwords/Adsense is generally good too, you just have to be careful to separate Google search ads (the ones you see when you do a Google search) from Google content network ads (the banner/text ads you see on websites). They both can be good but need to be treated differently so dont lump them together. Start with the google search ones since that's targeted, straightforward, easier to monitor and learn.
you're welcome, and don't wanna overwhelm you. the point is just this:
because different networks have different demographics and different buying mindsets, it's more important to figure out which one is the best fit for what you're offering, and optimize your ads there, THEN spread to some other networks.
Usually, once you figure out an angle that works (via the right combination of ad and targeting), you stand a good chance of taking that campaign over to other places, thereby making more money there. And this is easiest to do if you're starting with good traffic that's a good fit for your offer. So you really just wanna focus on making one good, creative angle with your ads, one good concept that makes it stand out and gets people clicking. What is significantly more important at this stage is what you'll learn about your audience: what kinds of things command their attention strongly enough to compel them to click on your ad. Don't be afraid to try lots of different angles and get creative, you wanna try to learn what theyre thinking, because there's a lot you don't know and you haven't realized it yet.

I'm thinking about creating a website that puts out articles (maybe 3 or 4 a week) on various topics regarding how a better society would be structured. This would include talking about what widespread implementation of cryptocurrency would look like, required changes in corporate governance, necessary philosophical underpinnings of the society, discussion of what institutions would be necessary, legal framework, future careers that don't exist today, etc. The website would cater to a libertarian type audience, but would try to be a little bit more outside-the-box with the topics.
My plan is to write some articles myself, but mostly try and find people on anonymous chat boards who are willing to write/send me articles. If I decide to use the article, I'll pay them in bitcoin and they can either give me their real name or a pseudonym for credit (still deciding on the initial amount). Article writers that attract a lot of clicks will get paid more money for subsequent articles.
Obviously, I'll be responsible for SEO, website design/organization, and marketing. Please try to pick apart my general business idea so I can see it's flaws and try to improve it?
>>1903205
Post an email or something I can use to contact you when thread dies. I would be willing to write.
>>1903205
Sounds like a good idea but I don't know how profitable that sort of site can actually be without resorting to clickbait and obnoxious affiliate marketing.
Kotaku brings in thousands of rageclicks every day and still needs to run ads disguised as articles to pay the bills.
Hey I'm currently running a business that is selling products specifically marketed to right-wing persons.
Anyone here running some kindof rightwing site?
lets start one

>Look at tax brackets from several countries
>government steals 20%+ in most of the world
>in America, the "capitalist" country, it goes from 10% to as much as 40%
Why do people think this is acceptable? wtf im ancap now
Get married nigga the tax breaks are amazing and worth it.
>>1903130
>he thinks rich people are dumb enough to pay taxes
The government has conned people into thinking they get good value for that money. SS is the worst offender. They literally could just open a TSP for every citizen and offer an optional government annuity at retirement based on the TSP amount and they could turn a fucking profit on the program instead of letting it bleed us dry.
Do you remember the PIPboys-edition

> How is it free?
"People" invest your settled funds when you're not using them, just like banks.
> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.
> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.
> I hit sell when the stock was X.XX, but it actually sold at a lower price, why?
Robinhood graphs are shit and only show you an average, not true real-time prices. To get Bid/Ask prices and important things like candlestick graphs, you should use a more robust platform.
> Where can I get better charting or bid/ask?
Real brokers, like TDAmeritrade's thinkorswim. Otherwise you should be using stockcharts.com, finviz, or a non-pile-of-shit for your graphing in addition to Robinhood.

/biz/ I am finishing my mba on May and the business I am interning at offered me a job, but it's only $40,000 a year and even low-end mba grads get $50,000 a year in my city.
If I accepted this job I would keep looking for work and quit the second I got a better job.
The question is should I accept the job and quit when something better comes along or look for other opportunities full time and reject the offer?
pic unrelated
>I'm not the only one that stalks larry david's daughter's instagram
and duh you should quit as soon as you can 40k lmao wtf not even worth getting up for desu
>>1902932
Well I haven't started the job yet. The question is should I even bother accepting it or look for something else?
I have a year of project management experience through this internship.
And yeah LD's daughter is a fox. Stupid sexy jews.
>>1902947
It depends on how long until you have to make a decision to accept it vs how quickly you can find something better.
Question about small claims court.
My Ex was an authorized user on my credit card and racked up about $1300 in debt, I've since shut off the card.
She was also driving my Mercedes and backed up into something and trashed the bumper and taillight.
do I have a case? I'm looking for about $3000 and I have documentation with her name and her charges on my statements for the credit card and an estimate on the damage from when she dropped the car off to the shop.

I would say so. She shouldn't have a right to your shit if you were never married or are divorced.
