>tfw you realize that 4chan is the real thing holding you back from success
>tfw you realize that you're holding yourself back
>>1904878
Yeah, I'm sure it's 4chan holding you back and not because you act like a lazy unmotivated sack of shit.
tfw 4chan made me more money coz im buying ether with all my salary
Which one will make me more money in general? UCSB inbound.
>>1904852
dont they have some sort of financial mathematics major at ucsb? if so do that but if not do econ with some statistics or finance. Business degree is a meme
>>1904852
Honestly it isn't as clear cut as you think. I'd be surprised if average salaries were that much different from one another.
If you are wanting to max your earnings and limiting yourself to these degrees I'd make sure to get as many internships as possible and network. That's advice for every degree though. If you can minor in a tech related area like ERP or Info Systems. The more tech you know the better.
someone else look at these with me
I THINK Dogecoin is about to shoot the fuck up

If by "shoot the fuck up" you mean act as though it's been heavily dosed with heroin - I agree with you
How do I stay productive when working from home?
>>1904778
Stay off of 4chan
Keep hand out of pants
Drink coffee
Don't eat breakfast (fasting state makes you alert)
Turn off TV
Get off 4chan during work hours.
Have a set area that is your home office and have a schedule. When you are in your office, you are working.
Hi /biz/, I've just finished an economics degree in a top European university and I'm stuck on a highly important doubt. I don't currently know in which area I would like to focus my professional career. Finance and accounting are so fucking boring to spend a whole life working on it, so I think any statical subject is much more exciting. But I'm not so sure about focusing on big data cause many people advise me that it's a meme, what do u think?
>>1904776
Big Data is the basis of the future economy. Every new artificial intelligence breakthrough from now on is going to have more to do with large, well-maintained data sets than new or innovative algorithms, and AI is going to drive the future.
>>1904814
Ok but that does not mean it isn't a meme. What I want explain is that modelizing variables for predicting returns or variance of some outputs has no scientific evidence and does not prove that X scenario is probably going to happen
>>1904776
Yes, like every iteration of data analysis beforehand (BI, AI, Expert Systems, MIS, DSS, ...). That doesn't mean that you can't profit from that hype. And if data science and big data dies down, just wait a few years until a big consulting firm offers the next cool buzzwords which will change EVERYTHING!
Why is no one talking about this?
>>1904726
>it's yet another pump n dump scam coin

> How is it free?
"People" invest your settled funds when you're not using them, just like banks.
> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.
> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.
> I hit sell when the stock was X.XX, but it actually sold at a lower price, why?
Robinhood graphs are shit and only show you an average, not true real-time prices. To get Bid/Ask prices and important things like candlestick graphs, you should use a more robust platform.
> Where can I get better charting or bid/ask?
Real brokers, like TDAmeritrade's thinkorswim. Otherwise you should be using tradingview.com, stockcharts.com, finviz.com, or a non-pile-of-shit for your graphing in addition to Robinhood.

I see a lot of "what coin should I invest to become rich in seven days (or earlier)" meme threads on here. Have some discipline and don't fall for the bullshit.
If you really want to make money with coins, use a technique called dollar cost averaging. It means investing an equal amount (in dollar terms) at regular intervals. Instead of trying to guess the peaks and the troughs and throw 1k in, throw $100 monthly. This is how you reduce short term risk for long term gains. Hope this helps f a m
>>1904684
thanks for the sound advice
>>1904684
Frogposters have too little patience for that. Sad!
This is strictly worse than throwing it at the troughs. If you can land the troughs
Hello, peaceful refugee /his/poster here.
Is the stock market actually relevant to anything except the stock market? Seems to me that the price of a share has literally nothing to do with the productivity and lucrativity of the company, except that it reflects on the popularity of said company?
Like, the price of a share doesn't influence the actual profits of the company, right? The price of a share is the consequence of the profitability, not the other way around, after all.
Is it just an arbitrary gambling thing, completely disconnected from businesses in practice?
>>1904653
The price of a share seems arbitrary because the number of total shares varies from company to company. The total price of all shares is what matters, and that's based on a combination of hype, speculation, and fundamentals.
>>1904661
Yeah but I mean what difference does it make for the company in question, for the people that work there? Is it just a near-metaphysical game for stock traders, unrelated to the store-level net income?
NVM I just realized that the money you buy the stocks with actually gets invested into the companys' budget 90% of the time.
This is what ideology does to a person, it makes them ignore shit like this.
I'm choosing my modules for my next year of University and I can't decide between "Developments in Banking and Finance" and "Economic History". I think Banking would be more useful, but I'm not great at maths, and Economics sounds more interesting.
Suggestions?

"Europe’s common market exemplifies a situation that is unfavorable to a common currency. It is composed of separate nations, whose residents speak different languages, have different customs, and have far greater loyalty and attachment to their own country than to the common market or to the idea of "Europe." Despite being a free trade area, goods move less freely than in the United States, and so does capital." -Milton Friedman, 1997
Is the Euro a feasible project as it stands right now? Southern Europe and Northern Europe seem too economically divergent right now to have a currency union. Southern Europe is once again on the brink of recession while Northern Europe has relatively healthy economic structure. If the ECB tried to ease money to save the Southern Europeans, it'd push the Northern Euros into accepting higher inflation than they would otherwise want. If they keep things the way they are now, Southern Europe will slip into an inevitable crisis. Portugal's debt crisis is still an issue and on the verge of needing a second bailout with bondholders still nervous about the country's unsound finances. Greece is having issues meeting its bailout targets and Italy is on the verge of a banking collapse that could put Europe into recession.
Is a fiscal union or breakup of the EU inevitable under these conditions? Did anybody consider the negatives of a monetary union in this case? Are there any defenses of the current structure?
>>1904506
Damn I hope the Euro crashes to the fucking ground. Being payed in dollars living in Portugal. Fingers crossed.
>>1904506
It wont. The European governments will prevent the collapse from happening at any cost.
>>1905269
Ever heard the saying "cant squeeze blood from a stone"? I personally see the collapse of the EU thus the Euro being shredded for hamster bedding.
Just lost a ton of money on the Madman thing.
Like half my money.
How do I deal with big stock market losses? Like what the fuck do I do? I'm in the red net-wise since I started trading now.
>>1904455
Genuine answer: stop trading and invest in something low risk with low returns.

Deep down I know you're right.
