can someone explain an aspect of crypto that i cant seem to grasp,
so from what i understand, BTC is just like internet money, then theres GOLEM which uses tokens or whatever to share computational power, my question is; is buying other coins essentially buying stocks in their businesses but with the added bonus of being able to buy, say, a speedboat from amazon if they eventually accept GOLEM as a currency or am i missing something?
sorry, its late, ive made alot of money and i still dont know how it fucking works.
>>2009528
It's unlikely that Amazon would accept golem. Theyd be more likely to accept a currency - like BTC or PIVx. Your gnt will convert to either of those. The more gnt is worth, the more BTC or PIVx you get and the more speedboats
>>2009530
well thats besides the fuckin point really but thanks for the tip
>>2009528
>my question is; is buying other coins essentially buying stocks in their businesses
No, because when you buy stock you own a fraction of the entire business therefore have a theoretical slice of the total enterprise value of the business at any given moment.
Those tokens however give you no input over the administration of the currency, don't give you a slice of the total market cap, they are simply a credit that entitles you to an allotment amount of information processing.
So when are you going to take your crypto gains and start some proper investing with it?
Or are you planning on being a crypto speculator for life?
I'll have my hand in both.
>>2009463
I should have said "or do you plan to be exclusively a crypto trader for life", I didn't mean to imply crypto is bad and that you should dump it.
>>2009461
To be honest, my legacy investments are pretty uninteresting and shitty performers compared to shitcoins.
suit your self, your missing out on the next big gainer. i told you about pivx when it was 1k sats but most of you did not listen. for those who are in on this big time like me, congratulations on your new lambo
>>2009397
Im holding this that chart speaks for it self
>>2009397
i am a big newfag, anyone tell me what is a "sats" coming from german speaking area, no idea what this means.
>1k sats
That's not how you speak POSW.
In the event of a market crash, what will this mean for crypto? Particularly BTC and ETH?
no one knows
crypto is something new, it's kind of like precious metals, but its also like an asset
it might explode in value, and be worthless
>>2009351
The price would likely rise.

So apparently Banks can create money out of thin air and then charge interest on it. But why do they need to charge interest if they can create money out of thin air in the first place? Can someone please explain this to me I do not understand.
>>2009337
Because you need real money back. I mean their "thin air creation" is not printing more money but borrowing from the future. But you amerifats cant into logic
>>2009340
So
>Banks create money out of thin air
>Customer takes that money as a loan, spends it and pays back that money from his monthly salary with interest
>That customer is paid a salary from his company after it deducts all costs and capex from its revenue
>That company initially took a loan from a bank to set up its business once upon a time
>that loan to the company was originally provided by a bank which created it out of thin air
So wait... you're telling me that technically all the money in the economy is created out of thin air by banks and is recycled between customers, businesses and banks?
>>2009353
pretty much
Hey anon.
You bought GOLEM before it went parabolic right?
>>2009312
Still young. Golem will have ethereums current market cap in two years.

>Golem will have ethereums current market cap in two years.
>>2009317
Wait... Did jews invent golems? What the fuck, man?
What happens if, instead of a single sudden market downturn, stocks slowly wither downwards for 17-18 years, similar to what happened in this chart?
>>2009293
>what happens
It gets harder to make money
I think that's less likely since people have instant access to info, meaning instant panic.

Okay /biz/, I am a university student, I am literate in economics, finance and other business related fields. However aside from the nice diploma I don't feel like this degree will really give me the tools I need to get rich. I get a decent allowance a year and live in Spain. Next year I will have +10K € (if I don't waste my money stupidly) to invest in whatever. This is the first time I am on this board, starting to feel like it's time to get into the whole making money meme. When I graduate i will also probably have some extra cash to start off with so I want to start now.
I am Russian, and interest rates in Russia are decent and over th ecourse of a year i can maybe get around 7% on my shit. But that sounds boring. I'd rather just grab a small sum of money and learn to diversify and invest in different things. I am not hoping for fast cash I just wan to discuss some alternatives. Also want to discover what this board is about.
>inb4 lurk more
yes I am on that
join the coiner master race, duh
>>2009264
I am seeing many of you are arguing to invest in ETH is that a good idea?
>>2009259
> This is the first time I am on this board,
Well 80% of the people on here are NEETs, there are some business owners on here too, but they are very quiet when they are real. You'll get a lot of people trying to sell you on pump and dump coins, please don't buy into any without doing your research first.
7% is fucking good for a annual return, remember most of the top gurus don't get more than 20%. It all comes down to your "appetite for risk".
Playing the stockmarket isn't really a way to earn a living wage though unless you do it all the time - the one thing I've learned on this shithole (I have stockholm syndrome) is that the only way to really make enough money to live comfortably is to own your own business: for the simple fact that it has cashflow, in the stockmarket the potential return on that cashflow you already pay a premium for in the price.
Crypto is risky, but it's a two sided sword; you can either make a fortune overnight or lose it. It's Forex for the poor.
>full disclosure: have some small crypto holdings
Next financial crisis when?
whenever the jews want it to happen
>>2009219
Its incredibly hard to determine when a bubble will burst. All I can say is we are definitely in a bubble in stocks. But no one knows when its gonna pop. Every economist and banker could determine next year or the year after that, only to have it happen tomorrow. However, there are currently too many people just 'buying the dip' whenever it goes down just slightly. We are definitely in the later stages of a bubble. But thats all we know.
>>2009379
I bet on social medie type stocks to burst the bubble. Things like Twitter or Instagram are way overvalued. Hell, these company don't even make money. When one of these companies loses financial liquidity it will all fall like domino blocks.
Quick Question about driverless cars. If Uber goes to even a partially driverless fleet, doesn't that fuck up their entire business model? Right now they don't need to worry about the tangible assets of all the cars - amortization, maintenance... nope, because their drivers do, but by removing drivers now doesn't Uber need to have warehouses in every city and a team of mechanics taking care of each car?
There's a bigger demand for drivers. They will collaborate just fine. If anything a self driving car will be optional because people will be scared to try at first. A self driving car can't offer you water or chat about inquiries.
>>2009209
Maintaining cars en masse will be cheaper than paying drivers en masse. When you pay a driver, the cost of him maintaining his car is already factored into his wage. Nobody would drive for Uber if the wages didn't cover the cost of maintaining your car plus some extra on top to pay for the rest of their lives. With drivers out of the picture, the cost will only be for cars and not for human survival.
>>2009212
This is true but they are getting into the driverless/automated game because they can see the writing on the wall, one day almost all cars will be driverless. I just don't understand how they intend to do the transition and take on tangible assets and the upkeep of them.
>>2009213
>When you pay a driver, the cost of him maintaining his car is already factored into his wage
True, but also the whole point of Uber, at least originally was that it was a freelancer gig, it wasn't meant to pay for a livelihood - like that's their personal car, the one they probably drive to their part time job in as well?
Or is it still cheaper for Uber to outright own and maintain driverless cars?
I get all that "muh boat set sails to the moon, gains going through the roof", but how do you move money out of the market? What's worth 100k$ in BTC if you can only cash 100$/week?
How do you even know which cryptos to choose? There's no fundametal analysis in this. From what I gathered from this board you buy whatever and shill fuck out of it in hopes that someone will buy it.
>>2009204
>if you can only cash 100$/week?
>>2009279
Isn't that the limit on these exchange sites?

what pills are you poppin /biz/?
>inb4 scammy ass modafinil and racetams
they do nothing i have used them caffeine is much better
>>2009203
concerta
and like 3-4 types of benzos
oxys when i can get em
>>2009198
modafinil is fantastic for me
i'm legit ADHD though, it's just pure discipline in a pill
i thought they were a scam too especially after using prescribed dexidrine my entire life
then i made a list of things i needed to do each day
on modafinil i'd blow through it all with just 110% discipline, just gives you the ability to sit there and just do it
and the crazy thing is it massively heightens the post-task completion euphoria, like ticking those things off the list was ecstasy and it builds throughout the day after every task completion
i think that's why people think it's a scam and don't get how it works, they expect the rush and euphoria of stimulation that gets you started working when you take other stimulants
modafinil multiplies the euphoria of completing a task, it's just discipline and discipline alone in a pill that lasts all day
i can't take it anymore because it gives me sulfur allergy rashes all over my body and i'm afraid it will develop into steven-johnsons if i keep taking it
really wish i could keep taking it
I can't tell you what the next weeks lottery numbers will be but I can tell you the general trends in business, crypto and the stock market assuming this timeline does not deviate from the the 1% divergence
how long until POSW tanks to 0 and the shills finally off themselves?
Neat.
>>2009154
Never
POSW is Kek-backed
I've already made money with btc and eth on coinbase. Now I'm on poloniex buying some alts but everythings in fucking btc. And all the prices on each exchange are different. Having a fucking hard time trying to figure out what the price is and calculate fees and when to sell.
