In the event of a market crash, what will this mean for crypto? Particularly BTC and ETH?
>>
no one knows

crypto is something new, it's kind of like precious metals, but its also like an asset

it might explode in value, and be worthless

The price would likely rise.

or*

Value in relation to fiat will rise. Look at what happened in Greece. People were using btc to trade instead of their fist because inflation had fucked up their currency.

My two cents:

BTC and ETH rise when people buy them.

Assuming there is market crash and this affects the rest of the economy, people will probably sell as soon as possible to keep the money.

Cryptocurrency is a risky trade, the fluctuations can be very high, people know this and will sell to avoid troubles.

If everyone is also expecting everyone else to sell, they will try to sell first.

but your fiat will be worthless and btc and eth will skyrocket to 10K $ a piece

...and you could buy a house with 15 btc
>>
BTC will go up

not sure about the rest.

BTC will probably go up. ETH is another beast altogether, but it will probably go up too. Both are alternatives to fiat.

It's hard to say really. This is why it is good to be diversified.

The value of the USD went up during the 2009 crash
>>
