Yeah, and it could also be worth a lot less. I personally don't think it will though. My theory is that if a fork happens people on both chains will start trying to buy up as much BTC as possible in order to show people that their chain is skyrocketing, therefore it must be the superior chain. Although this could get countered to some extent by people dumping coins on the opposing chain to try to discredit it.
