>now put BTC into a wallet at the latest 2 weeks before 1. August, you never know what complications may arise
>wait for the outcome
>if they found consensus before a hardfork you now gain a lot on bitcoin and can buy back shitcoins for cheap.
>if a hardfork happens: congratulations, you won, you now have Bitcoin on 2 chains, which combined may be worth a lot more than the previous single chain

Yeah, and it could also be worth a lot less. I personally don't think it will though. My theory is that if a fork happens people on both chains will start trying to buy up as much BTC as possible in order to show people that their chain is skyrocketing, therefore it must be the superior chain. Although this could get countered to some extent by people dumping coins on the opposing chain to try to discredit it.
