Around 2010-2011, i knew this rich dickhead who was going to create what he called a 'New Kind of Grocery Store' which basically meant he wanted to create a high end grocery store that also sold appliances. I told him the idea was fucking retarded. If people want high end groceries they are going to Whole Foods, if they want appliances they are going to Home Depot. They arent going to buy it from your no name store.

Then i told him, the Future of groceries will be a Giant warehouse, where there are almost zero people, and the groceries get delivered by drones or self driving vans in under about 1 hour. And, to do elaborate customer surveys and market research to find out exactly why people wouldnt want to use a service like that and then go down the list and tweak it so all the reasons why people wouldnt want to use it would be solved.

The guy tells me what i am suggesting sounds like the Jetsons, and laughs at me. I was like alright, whatever.

He spent, it had to be 20+ million USD, working on this place over a year, this was going to be the first store in a planned chain, it went out of business in 2 months. I wish i could of seen the guys face when he heard Jeff Bezos announce all the shit i suggested to this guy in 2010
