Why? Boxing is to this day considered a competitive sport. Because they have managed themselves properly.

Even though boxing has been shown to use the EXACT same methods as pro wrestling to pre-determine the outcomes up and down the card. They hire job guys and put them in mismatches. Most competitors refuse fights where they can see on paper they have no chance, because they want to preserve their image. But some guys take any fight just for the cash.

Then at the top of the bill you have multimillionaire celebrities who have no desire to box competitively ever again because they are too rich to risk losing it all with a bad concussion or brain trauma. So they fight soft and take a judge's call.

Wrestling could still be like that. They could hire amateur wrestlers who knew a sport, and train them up to be talkers.

Instead they want showboaters first and the matches are an afterthought. It literally stems from Vince still believing he can push his darling bodybuilders to the top of the industry.
