Where do you even get those Pikachu? I mean, I don't like 'em, I've always hated Pikachu, but I suppose it's hidden well enough that it isn't a bother. Same with Shit Greninja, it's only in the demo. Even with Contest Pikachu, they forced that shit into your lap as soon as they could.

Random battles I think.
Random battles actually currently sees more battles than OU.
But even if you take out randbats OU still isn't a majority of showdown battles.

Here's the graph with randbats removed. It's not just a fluke either, "alternative formats without randbats" collectively saw roughly the same number of battles as OU in october. (2601426 other formats, 2826944 for OU)
Note that that was actually a pretty good month for OU, now that I check.
OU got only 1185634 battles in may, while the other formats got 2340552.

It all depends on "do I remember to change the setting" because it's on shift by default, but when I'm trying to level up a mon, I like using shift so I can switch it in and out to max its gains.

Gen 5 was the first game I changed it over to set and I've never looked back. The games are just so much more enjoyable when you aren't given a big warning sign before every single trainer switch.

Also it's the only time I've ever done this. Friends keep telling me they've found piles of em on their playthrough and kinda sick of having abysmal luck.

I was on the same boat OP. I had never seen a wild shiny before gen VI. Then I got lucky and ran into a Bellsprout. From there onwards, I caught a decent haul of sparkles.

If you must have one, the safest and fastest method is chain fishing, though that limits you to fishable pokemon. My favorite method overall is just taking a stroll around the region raising encounter numbers on the detect tool (can't remember the name) so that I may find a shiny at some point. It's slow, but far more pleasing than chains or bicycle simulator.

So far I've got a shiny Mantine and Gloom doing this.

A Pyukumuku based on this slug thing, maybe a Sinnohan Form. I don't know what type it would have, but I'd love to see its BST shuffled around to allow it to make full use of Innards Out, and maybe replace some of its moves with offensive ones. Does 180/60/40/55/40/5 sound good?
