Anyone else care about this series?
I'll care once it hits PC.
Around the time uniel was coming out I was choosing between it and the new Persona 4 Arena. I could only afford one and went with the latter. I pirated uniel at a later date and I didn't dislike it but I never ended up buying it. Maybe I'll go ahead and make the jump with unist.
I played it on a whim and ended up really enjoying it. too bad it was dead when I got it.
We're finally getting late[st]. So yay I suppose.
>work part time
>plenty of time for games but momoney to buy them
>get full time position at mcdonalds
>no time for games but plenty of money to buy one a month
How do people do it?

Pirating
>>378050093
where can I pirate some spare time?
>>378049765
There is 168 hours in a week.
You sleep 49 of them.
You work 40 of them.
168 - 49 - 40 = 79
There is 79 hours left in a week to do something else.
If you tell that you do not have a time, you're a liar.
Why are there never any gta games on Nintendo systems?
>>378049307
Because nintendo consoles are made for children and autists. You have to be 18+ to play GTA btw.
>>378049307
Bump
because nintendo consoles are inappropriate for adult themes
Serious question: of you could change just one thing about Soulsborne games to make them more accessible, what would it be? Personally, I think the simple inclusion of an actual pause feature would greatly relieve some of the stress. This is a serious question, so no "get gud" alright.
>would relieve one of the core aspects of the game
Yeah, I wish don't starve had a grocery store
Pause would break the immersion so I wouldn't do it. I don't know what I would do.
>>378049920
No matter the circumstances, pausing should always be an option. You never know what could suddenly happen.

>but they don't know my real name
You hosted a website, of course they do. And if you didn't host a website with your real name, your host will happily close it for you.
The best thing is to just not tell people you're working on it. Just release the thing.

What is with the stereotype that healing is a beta's role? Outside of the healslut meme for fetishists, the role of a healer within the group is one of leadership.
Tanks are seen as leaders due to the simple fact that they are the ones to lead the charge, but outside of the moment of engagement their role is the simplest in the group:hold aggro, move as needed, tank swap, repeat. The role of DPS slightly above the tank's in difficulty due to complex rotations or priority systems, but is the primary source of conflict in relation to who is topping the charts. It requires a knowledge of the class and encounter mechanics, but is always the "filler" role once the key spots have been filled.
Next comes the now near-extinct role of pure support classes such as Bards whose role has been merged into the healer role in most MMOs and RPGs. The support role is there to bring out the best in it's raid members by enhancing their abilities past what they are normally capable of. It requires a knowledge of all other roles and mechanics in order to optimize the performance of as many people as possible as consistently as possible. Finally using the support point of bringing out the best in others we come to the role of the healer. The healer role by far bears the hardest burden within the group, being the one role that determines whether the encounter ends in victory or defeat. The role of the healer requires not only complete awareness of their surroundings but the knowledge of all possible defensive abilities other classes possess in order to properly triage during healing intense phases. This in turn makes the ability to make split-second decisions an absolute must for any healer. The role of a healer often puts the player in the duty of 2-3 simultaneous roles (healing/support/dps) compared to any other spot. The responsibilities of this role along with it's ability to bring out the best in it's allies firmly cements the healer role within a K-selected classification.

What games did you play? Tanks always lead the charge, it's their sole purpose.

Just admit it, you want to post anime titties but needed an excuse so the faggot mods won't ban you
Golden Era: 2002-2005
Custom games were unique, experimental, and super fun. Every day that you launched Battle.net you knew you could expect something new and surprising to play.
Enlightenment Era: 2005-2008
The breadth of games being hosted have started to become more homogenized. DOTA has started to gain some prominence. On the plus side Frozen Throne's release gave some more map customizability features such as custom 3D unit models among other things like naval units which kept things fresh. Map makers were figuring out the limits of the map editor. Someone programmed the first host bot and released it to the public at the end of 2008.
Dark Age: 2009-2010
Host bots overwhelm the custom games list with a shit load of empty games for DOTA, with a few bots for Vamp Fire and a small selection of TD's, and just general spam URLs to scam websites. The number of players logged onto Battle.net has begun to drop dramatically. Warcraft 3 became synonymous with DOTA.
Ded Gaem: 2010-current
The few remaining non-DOTA players hoping that Blizzard would one day ban host bots or have them filtered-by-default either stopped gaming in general or went off to Starcraft 2 only to be disappointed by how shitty it was compared to Warcraft 3.
>>378042662
>enlightenment era 2005-2008
WC3 was already dead by late 2004, with DOTA autohost bots taking over 90% of the custom games list.
>>378042662
Fuck DOTA, i never enjoyed that shitty map and having to swim through hundreds of fuckin dota "servers" to find a fuckin tower defense or some survival game was pain
>>378042942
>DOTA autohost bots taking over 90% of the custom games list.
Host bots came out in 2008. DOTA got its first WCG tournament in 2005.
Almost hitting that 2 week final stretch.

Speaking of which, will we be doing another one of these this year?
Why was 2 so bad?
>>378040574
Because it's 13 years old and you were probably 4-10 years old when it originally came out.
play this:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/365300/Transmissions_Element_120/
The gameplay still holds up with a fresh layer of paint.
>>378040574
Half life 2 is bad because they didn't care about making a fun little shooter, but instead made a boring slow paced tech demo. Half life 2 (and the source engine) still graphically holds up but the gameplay was a snooze fest since day one. The episodes are marginally better but they are still riddled with problems and are not really all that fun.

i read this in that dudes voice. complete with helicopter noise...
Just started the Water temple, pretty sure it's the last one. I' m like 10 hours in this piece of shit of game and I don't see the hype.
Pros :
Combat is fun
Dungeons are okay
Cons:
-The story is extremely generic
-The characters are extremely generic
-The world is extremely generic
-All of the bad guys are evil because evil.
-So much backtracking
-Lack of voiced skits
- Super ehhh? pacing
- Incredibly hard difficulty spikes
-Every track of the game is so fucking forgettable.
I know already that Kratos is Lloyd's father and that there are two worlds. And the Internet thinks this is a mind blowing twist...?
Should I stick with this game, /v/?
>>378040067
Since the cons you listed are literally JRPG bread and butter stuff I'd say stop now before you realizeyou're barely done the tutorial
>>378040327
What can I say, I personally enjoyed better Zestiria than this, and Zestiria is mediocre as fuck.
>>378040067
If you like the gameplay, yes. The story gets MUCH better after the first world (when it stops being a FFX ripoff) and you get cooler party members. I didn't like the early parts either, but ended up loving the game.
To people that say the Switch's first year lineup is bad, what are you comparing it to? because the PS4, Xbone and Wii U's were way worse.
>>378039885
this image literally contains the ONLY games worth owning on the switch for its first year. If five games for a whole year is good enough for you that fine but its not for everyone.
>>378040442
It's better than none, like all of 8th gen.
Every Nintendo console other than the Wii U.
