>What is manyland?
It's one of those "the users create all the content" games. Everything in the game is (or can be made to be) editable, dynamic, scriptable, interactable, and controllable. There are vehicles, weapons, a simplistic physics engine, platforming, obstacles, programmable NPCs and enemies, etc.
In short, think of it as 2D second life with a Terraria-esque flair.
>Is it free?
Absolutely. You can get the steam version to remove ads and there's a $1 monthly subscription in the game that gives you unlimited access to a pointless gifting feature, and nothing else costs any kind of money.
>do I have to sign up?
Just to chat? No. But if you want to edit or create things, you'll have to sign in some way or another (steam, google, etc.)
>this looks like gay 2D minecraft
Don't be closed-minded. Just give it a try for a few minutes before passing judgment, fuck.
I took the liberty of making a room for anyone who wants to join here:
http://manyland.com/bigguysonly
>ugh this is boring and there's nothing to do!!!
I haven't made anything fun yet. I'm waiting for more people to join up with me. If you want to check out some neat shit other people have done, click on the arrow at the bottom left, then "find areas," then enter a search term.
Here's a quick list of interesting places (feel free to suggest more for this OP):
>stockpile (a stockpile of skins and other objects, some copyable)
>dungeons (a quick simple platforming trial)
>realparkour (more platforming)
>lasergame (laser tag)
>blancnoir (a puzzle game)
>pixelland (some kind of RPG I think)
to go to any of those places, just type "to" and then their name. "to ()" is the teleport command in-game.
Lost? Confused? Go to Helptown by visiting http://manyland.com/helptown or typing "TO HELPTOWN" in-game. Alternatively, you can type "HELP" at any time in-game to bring up a brief help pop-up.
Fuck off shill.

Not until someone joins me
>It's one of those "the users create all the content" games
Wow sounds fucking shit. Like I'd want to play yet another "game" made by talentless no effort fucks.
>literally the highest rated tales game since symphonia
>lowest sales in the series
JUST
I have only played tales of symphonia before this, I'm at the part where elanore joins the party after you kick her ass
I started to play this because people recommended to play this if I enjoyed xenoblade's combat
am i missing something? Every fight is assigning artes on the enemy weakness on a single button and mashing your combo, dodging away, and going back in for an attack on and on and on. I'm playing on hard mode for reference, I've killed 5 code red monsters so far and I don't think intense is going to change anything up
>tales games

devil may cry proved that edgelords dont sale
Ever wondered why the fuck this guy was called "Curly Brace"?
Get this: a curly brace is a type of punctuation used to define scopes in "C++", the programming language Cave Story was coded in.
>>376384214
Nigger
It was called Super Mario Bros 2 because there's 2 of them
>>376384214
Nobody cares, faggot.
So I realize Im late to the party but what the fuck is all this gender swap bullshit
Gender swaps don't really work when nearly every character wears armour that conceals their entire body
>>376384190
It was a stretch goal during funding that got met.
The real dealio is that it took them this fucking long to do it when the game has been out for years.
>>376384190
Kickstarter stretch goal, the team delivered.
That's the story in a nutshell.
2008-2017

What happened?
>>376384293
Nothing much, how about you?
Ben is fine. Abby has spoken once, and she also seems fine.
What's wrong?

Oh you poor silly fool.
>>376384490

Everyone has a favorite IP that is now dead as fuck. What's her name /v/?
Pic related for many I'm sure.
Hold me.
>>376383971
It's for the best, but I wouldn't be surprised if Konami resurrected it down-the-line for a quick buck.

The mobile Metal Slug isn't good I guess?
>start new game with friend
>he joins with his endgame character, starts autistically zooming around the map, summoning bosses and blowing up shit
>doesn't want to do anything else
Does anyone else have this problem?
force him to start a new character with you and only play that character on your server or don't play with him
>>376383379
>start modded play-through with friend
>adds a bunch of NPCs
>he wants to make themed housing for almost all of the old and new NPCs
>it continuously gets in the way of progressing through all the new content
i think he's a great guy but jesus fucking christ i dont care how ugly the commieblocks look we need to get fucking going FUCK
I believe you can have a modified server that makes you sign up and use a fresh new character, regardless of any other characters you have. I've seen it done on multiple Terraria servers. The character info is exclusively saved client-side.
Hey, hey!
>>376383229
oh no you don't
YOSH
LETS
Looks interesting but a bit pricey, especially with the expansions packs. Anyone playing? Anyone tried?
How good is the vanilla version vs with expansions?
Vanilla is okay
Expacs add three factions and a shitload of new content, so it's by far a better deal
I really enjoy the game. It's pretty atmospheric and shit. You can play the vanilla game without the expansions, though the cheap DLC that adds side quests for the minor factions is pretty good value. It regularly goes on sale for $7.50, and it's definitely worth that price.
>>376383026
had almost 50 hours of fun with it
It's fun but the AI is incredibly retarded or ridiculously op, depending on the race and ai setting
This represents the amount of people who lit the first bonfire in DS.
Did Dark Souls always have the achievements? I remember it didn't have steam achievements for a long time after release on steam. It just had GFWL achievements
