I believe you can have a modified server that makes you sign up and use a fresh new character, regardless of any other characters you have. I've seen it done on multiple Terraria servers. The character info is exclusively saved client-side.

Sounds like a shit friend honestly. With my group we'll made a new character to play with the new comer to the game even if we're pretty far into the game.

I've been on both sides of this and if you don't make a new character it just ends up not fun for one or both of you.

That kind of shit is the worst. I love starting with nothing and working your way up.

I only ever played with one friend, but it was short-lived. He was cool, though. I feel like this game could be potentially fun with friends, but only if you were of similar skill and knowledge level.
