While the org 13 data fights were fun and challenging their designs were boring. With the Julius boss it was like oh shit I'm getting my ass raped by a Disney character and that felt different. Or that they made you fight the magic mirror in BBS. Wish they do more hardcore disney bosses in kh3, fights like KH2 Genie Jafar were so underwhelming.

To be fair, KH1 and 2 are busted in terms of balance also but I understand what you mean. In KH1 you can use Aerora with a combination of MP Rage and proceed to facetank anything except for Ice Titan, and with KH2, Reflectga is easily the best magic by a large margin.

Some of the changes they made to the series really pissed me off.
KH1 had tech points, a way to get more experience in combat by using guard, parrying or attacking the enemy in a specific way, rewarding the smarter or more experienced player who choose to vary their playstyle over simply mashing X. It also encourages the player to observe enemy attack patterns and try out new things. The first time you get to fight Darkside and realise you can climb up his arm and hit his head, and get rewarded with tech points is so satisfying.
KH2 has brain dead reaction commands that trivialize the normal fights and some boss fights, an obnoxious text panel in almost every boss/special fight that tells you exactly what the boss's gimmick is and what to do. Also the amount of pop up menus and tutorials after you earn a new ability/drive form kinda ruined the immersion.

It would be less worse if didn't display hints during bossfights. But with the way some bossfights are designed around specific actions+reaction commands its somewhat necessary, regrettably. Would be better if they just showed the boss fights gimmick in a cutscene (In the cutscence before the KH2 oogie boss fight, donald shows how the conveyer belt doors work by going through it) but obviously it's just cheaper to slap an out of place info bar and call it a day.

Fucking how? It's a clunky outdated piece of shit. There's not nearly enough shortcuts so you are always selecting akwardly potions or spells in the middle of the battle while the enemies are free to tear you a new one, it encourages mashing combos to get over battles quickly. Most bosses are giant and static turds that stay put while dishing out huge area of effect attacks that can't be evaded unless you pull back constantly but which barely do any damage, so every major battle boils down to mash, mash, mash, get hit, heal, mash, mash, mash, get hit, heal, until the boss is dead.

KH2 is more fluid, has more content, spells that aren't Heal and Aero are now worth using, bosses don't have brainded patterns (mostly) and has tons of combat option in general. I'd rather have a single button for prompts than a half-baked fusion of real time and turn based menus that makes you want to cut off your balls and use your scrotum to paraglide across the Grand Canyon.
