PUELLA LIBRAM GREENTEXT: TECHNICALLY SESSION 1

Lots to cover this time, because there was out of session IC during the week to cover Sigmund joining and the party meeting up!

>Cashmere and Gloriana get off the ship with the dead captain
>Follow rumors to a very seedy tavern called the Inn Between
>The grizzly Sigmund is also coincidentally here, drinking and flirting
>Gloriana has absolutely zero subtlety after being told to keep a low profile
>Cashmere and Gloriana get hit on by a local noble, boasting about his family's improved mines and clearly wanting to get in their pants
>Meanwhile, a redhead waitress offers Sigmund a 'reward' if he breaks up a fight in the bar
>He's stuck in unarmed combat with two thugs, until it gets broken up by the huge half troll matron arriving
>The thugs were related to the noble, and they're all sent off. The noble asks Cashmere and Gloriana to follow but Cashmere gives him a cold rejection.
>Overhearing that Sigmund is a Nightwalker, they invite him back to their table, and Cashmere offers healing
>Gloriana says Cashmere's healing made her sick last time, Cashmere huffs and says that's normal because of the miasma and all magic healing has that disadvantage--
>Gloriana heals Sigmund, corruption-free. Cashmere is rekt.
>The waitress also notices and pulls Gloriana upstairs to beg her to heal the madness from her father, since Gloriana has the gift to cure corruption
>Gloriana turns on the charm and and comforts waitress with a pure hug
>Meanwhile, Cashmere and Sigmund are alone at the table. She awkwardly tries to probe into his background and character
>It develops into an tense verbal standoff of city girl vs country bumpkin, quips being traded like fire, and somewhere along the way Sigmund signs himself onto the party to prove his point
>Just at the peak of the tension, Gloriana arrives to interrupt and defuse the hostility!
>Sigmund probably won though
>The party agrees to visit the Martel Mines to heal the waitress' father...
>>
>>52695691
>They make their way to the mines, Sigmund is uncomfortable because they dressed him up in smart clothes and combed his hair
>Gloriana cure the waitress' crazed father and donates 5 gold to them to have a good life
>But footsteps approach from outside - it's Lysander!
>He tells them of trolls in the mines, which spurs the party - especially Gloriana - into action
>Outside, they see a strange creature in the distance, howling to the moon and a cross between minotaur, displacer beast and manticore.
>They try and avoid conflict, heading to the mine, and are about to argue with the guard when they're shot down by crystal spikes from the beast 150ft away
>The group tries to engage, but next volley instantly downs Lysander and wounds Gloriana, so the party decides to bail for the mines as Sigmund covers them
>In the mine, they heal up and decide to go deeper, since come tomorrow the Martel guards will lock down the mine, this may be their only chance to investigate
>This happens
>>52693598
>The hawk's name is Worchestershire
>Eventually they find the trolls, though!
>Behind them is a shivering naked clown
>Cashmere is only saved from becoming mincemeat by two trolls rolling nat 3s
>Lysander punches a hole in one of them with lightning
>Cashmere pulls her dress up and rubs Sigmund's rifle on her thighhighs to enchant it with Bane
>With their powers combined, they shoot down the last troll and scare the third off
>They rush to Bonbon for post-LOGS healing

Unless the GM is autistic enough to establish a guide to local dialects in his shitty homebrew setting, there is absolutely no reason to speak in a stilted 'old timey' fashion when roleplaying. If it's a fictional setting, there's absolutely no issue with using modern language.

There's nothing wrong with calling the town guard 'the police.'
There's nothing wrong with calling someone with a bad attitude 'a jerk' or 'a moron.'
There's nothing wrong with using casual terms like 'super' or 'totally' instead of 'very' or 'extremely.'
I could go on and on but the point is simple.

My characters speak however they like and that shouldn't trigger your autism.

That's actually how I do language. Local dialects are all dialects of English. That way it's easy to add variance to characters and the language, but still familiar and easy to do as the DM.

It's a functional reprint of two other cards, both of which were pretty bad, yeah, so it didn't get any better magically. Also, how many of these lands do we need in standard? This makes two of them and no one plays either, guaranteed.

So I was thinking of theming every batch of soldiers I order and gearing/renaming them accordingly.

Like a batch named after The Avengers, or X-Men (get it?)

I've just binge-watched the entirety of The Lost Room, and I think it would be a great setting to spring on my players. The thing is, I need a whole bunch of objects with interesting powers and properties.

If you haven't watched it, like I hadn't until yesterday, then the premise of the show is that there are at least a hundred mundane objects that have inexplicable powers that bend reality in some way, some powerful and some not. The Key that I have as the image is one of those things. The level of power can be between 'extremely situationally useful or unorthodox mundane' or 'reality bends over backwards for its one function.' All Objects of this nature are indestructible and do not work inside the Room the Key leads to.

Objects I have include:
>The Key, which opens all swinging doors anywhere in the world into an empty and clean motel room somewhere in America.
>The Yellow Pencil, which produces a penny every time it's tapped on a solid surface.
>The Bar of Soap, which allows the user to teleport short distances
>The Tennis Ball, which makes other people sweaty if you hold it.
>The Penny, which increases the holder's charisma and confidence when in their pocket.
>The Rubber Band, which increases mental agility when worn on the wrist
>The Do Not Disturb Sign, which allows the holder to ignore the effects of other Objects
>The Eraser, which can be used to erase solid materials
>The Blue Pencil, that when dropped causes rain to fall until picked up.
>The Walkman, which makes you faster when you put the headphones on
>The Necktie, makes people around you more polite and respectful.

What mundane things that would come in a motel room can you think of?

Random magical objects thread? Random magical objects thread.

A 2 inch pocket knife that can cut through anything......made of wood.

A beer bottle that never empties, but contains only Milwaukee's Best Ice

A bottlecap with a nick in the edge. When flipped this nick always points towards the most valuable object within 5 miles. It will continue to point towards the object it first pointed towards when flipped until it gets further than 5 miles away or a day has passed, allowing continued flips to "home in".

A pen that allows the user to perfectly sketch an imagine in their head (THIS NEEDS TO BE A THING SO FUCKING BADLY I HATE MY BAD ART)

Why not more of the ones in the show?
>The Comb, which slows time for the user when drawn through hair by speeding the user up. Tends to cause motion sickness. Does not work if the user has no hair to comb.
>The Radio, which makes you an inch taller when you tune it to just the right frequency.
>The Umbrella, which makes someone think they know you.
>The Quarter, which brings memories to life when swallowed. The living memories disappear once the Quarter has passed through.

All of them. Ask 1/2 of /tg/. Half hate (x), the other half hates (y), 2/3's hate (z), etc etc.....

However, we've all had those great games on TT, that still makes us smile. Let's hear about THOSE stories.

I hate all RPG systems. I once wrote a list for my previous group detailing why every system is trash, and so we must satisfy ourselves with using the slightly less trashy ones.
>>
>>52693782
So, real talk for a moment, maybe even meta-commentary. Why is it that people such as >>52693849 feel the need to come into a thread and immediately attempt to ruin it? OP wanted us to discuss good stories, times we had great games that reminded us why we still enjoy this hobby, and this anon decided the best thing he could add was an anecdote about why this is bad and everything is terrible forever.

What is it that makes people behave like this? I honestly don't understand the impulse. It's larger than this one example, you can see it everywhere online, but this is as good a place as any to ask the question.

Does any kind anon have an inkling as to why this phenomenon takes place?
>>
>>52694226
Mostly laziness, honestly. I've had many good stories in many different (terrible) systems. It doesn't change my opinion that all systems have flaws, though, and typing out a great story from one of those campaigns would have taken quite a long time.
