Looking for a good shoe or low boot that's great for daily wear and also rugged and durable (range/training focused) without looking like a pile of ass. What do you guys wear on the daily or know works? Pic related as they're in the top-contender list (Lalo Tactical Bloodbird)

Taking fashion advice from /k/ is an awful idea.
This happened on August 23 at Piz Cengalo near Bondo, Switzerland.

What are some tips for hammock camping? I like being able to set up and clean up easily and its more mobile than a tent.
>>1088905
their's no comfortable way to fit more than one person in a hammock, whether it says "two person hammock" or not
>>1088909
So arguably the only downside to them. A moot point considering people could easily bring their own.
>>1088910
That isn't "arguably" a downside, it is a downside.
They also suck if there is much wind, you can't run a stove in one, can't reflect a fire into them while you sleep, and you have to be somewhere there is something to hang them from.
Hammocks are fine for some trips but their limitations mean they could never replace a tent for me.
Thinking about starting an /out/ youtube channel with some philosophy stuff mixed in. Any suggestions/advice?

No. Go away.

but how can you clean your room if you're outside?
How to into cold?
Things that
>make you feel less cold when you're travelling
vs. Things that
>make your body actually generate more heat so that you don't actually slide into hypothermia by accident

Sweater

Cold water swimming/ice swimming.
Helps adapt you to the cold long term. Good for your health also.

They have a distorted relationship with animals due to Disney films and other anthropomorphizing nature documentaries. Since they face no physical or financial threat from these animals its basically a self fulfilling prophecy.
Is dusk literally /ourtime/?
>Not quite day
>Not quite night
>Birds are singing their goodnight songs
>People driving home all depressed and shit
>Sleep is coming soon which is the closest thing to being dead without bothering anyone
Dawn
>Not quite night
>Not quite day
>Birds chirp their first chirps
>People still half asleep and quiet
>Congratulations, you woke up! Time to make the most of the day
>>1088333
Dunno about morbidness but dusk is very nice indeed.
Have you noticed how perception of movement when walking seems to be faster during dusk?
>>1088338
>Dawn
Yawn

What food do you pack in a backpack to live off of as long as possible? 50lbs max and obviously no refrigeration. Assume wild flora and fauna do not contribute significantly to calories/nutrition.
Rice/oats/grits for carbs
Couple bottles of olive oil and lard for fats.
Rest should be dried meats for protein.
>>1088033
>live off of as long as possible
>50lbs max
16.666...lbs of beef jerky.
16.666...lbs of dried rice.
16.666...lbs of dried beans.
Hope you like jerky, rice, and bean soup.
>>1088042
Nah fuck that.
>40lbs brown rice
>9lbs lard
>1lb multivitamins
Congrats, you have enough food to survive for 8 months.
No, you won't be healthy. Yes, you will avoid danger/emergency-tier malnutrition or vitamin deficiency.
Has anyone on here bought any of the big four gear from Aliexpress? I'm thinking about picking up the green Aegismax sleeping bag and a Naturehike inflatable sleeping pad from Aliexpress, I'm in Europe so I can't buy from the US without it becoming ridiculously expensive.
>>1087812
I sleep on the $20 blue CCF foam pad from Naturehike. It's basically a Thermarest Z-lite, but the foam degrades faster.
I wouldn't trust them for any critical gear like a tent though. I only use the CCF pad because they can't really fuck that up.
I've thought about buying gear from China but I am scared that they would break on me quickly. You can save a lot of money though.
>>1087812
Have a few things from Aliexpress.
I currently use a 3F UL Silnylon 1 person tent.
Its a Big Sky Wisp but half the price.
All the stitching is good. Everything is seam sealed.
Came with ground sheet and aluminium X shape pegs.
Its issues are inherent to the design and not the manufacture.

Recently started a job as at a Cabelas in Commiefornia. I am in the fishing department and am only 20 years old, so I don't have a lot of experience. Do you guys have anything to help me survive the sales life?
Also, if you have any fun/exciting/stupid stories from camping trips, all stories are welcome.

Just be nice to people anon. Learn as much as you can in your downtime. Have a good attitude and people will be good to you.

You don't work on comission, do you?
Just talk with customers a lot. Ask what has been working for them so you can reccommend shit to the next customer. And don't be afraid to admit when you don't know something, go find another associate. You will figure it out pretty quick.
I worked retail at a pet store for years in my late teens and early 20s and it didn't take long to become the guy customers ask for because I got good at bullshitting people.
I got this Diamond Infinite Edge with a case + target + 10 carbon arrows for 350 CAD. This is my first bow. How'd I do?
Do not hunt with bows. Poking poor animals with arrows is inhumane. Poor fucking animals. Use a gun.
>>1087617
>>killing animals is inhumane
>>kill animals instead
You what mate?
>>1087602
I got the same deal at 350 USD and only 6 arrows. So you can at least feel good about that. Great bow tho. As a first time shooter I was hitting a tennis ball sized group at 20 yd so I'd say I'm pretty impressed with its ease of use and adjustments. Did everything myself except for tying on the peep which cost all but 7.50 at asspro.
How many types of poisoning does one get if boiling water on aluminum water bottles?
It has some type o lining that certainly isn't good if heat, I assume.
>>1087455
It really depends on the lining. In an effort to find out what the coating is, I learned that these are actually 100% cotton blend.
>>1087458
mine isn't that, I just picked a random image. It has some type of golden lining.
>>1087458
... Should be fine then, I guess. Cotton's not harmful.
/Out/, I just got this backpack from Dick's for $60. It's a Field and Stream 65L. How did I do? I think I need some compressors for my sleeping bag.
Congrats, you managed to scrape together $60, mom gave you a ride and loaned you $5 cuz you forgot about tax. Now you have a $60 backpack and are wondering if you should take it back
