People who drive non-sportscars, what's the fastest you driven? Me, I drive a VW Tiguan SUV and the fastest I've gone is 120mph. Felt reeeeal squirrelly going any faster than that.
>truck
83. Terminal velocity. Was scary as fuck
>Acura
Been up to about 130 in it. Not much left after that.
>Old rx300
I used to consistently peg off the 118mph speed limiter
>Fz6
I've gotten it up to about 138-140. I think it's got a bit more in it.
Been 142 in my mom's BMW, was pretty fucking stable.
115 mph in my 90 hp turbodiesel Corolla. Still waiting for a downhill tailwind opportunity to see if I can hit 120 or ideally 125 which translates to 200 metric.

I have an 03 Malibu and it gets sketchy at 85
I drove a mini JCW for a while and did 135 in that once, that's probably the fastest ever
Hey /o/, I'm new to automobiles, a poor-fag and looking for a car.
I love how the cars from the 80's looks and am looking for a commuter from that time.
Luckily I live in the Los Angeles and finding one should be no problem.
Are there any models I should be on the look out that hold up today/have little problems?
The Honda Civic looks cool from that time.
Picture sort of related.

Maybe if you were a bit more specific
For starters, do you even know how to drive manual?
Make sure it can pass smog
Don't take their word for it, it's bullshit unless they have or are willing to go get a valid smog certificate

If you can, MR2 AW11 is the most 80s aesthetic you are going to get imo
For around the same price as a new S4 or S5 I can get a 2013 Audi S8. This thing is fast and everything. I might try and get one. What are ya'll opinions on this car?
>>17295798
>whole engine ahead of the front axle
it's not a very sporty car. but if you're ok with that,
>not getting a v10 one
>>17295798
Get one if you can afford the expected high maintenance costs that it comes with. I also agree that it is a highway monster and a great cruiser. Ive had a chance to drive a 16' S8 and it made me go from my then-fav SClass to A8 totally. Its my prefereance because the S8 felt more lively and sporty than an S63 AMG.

P O R S C H E
Seems the high school crowd doesn't bump like back in the day. Yeah it's annoying as fuck, but a good sub, crystal clear speakers, and your favorite tunes makes for a good ride. Is dub step officially dead?
I've been finding some songs that just nEED 500 watts of bass to be enjoyed properly.
Lifted trucks are the thing now.
Maybe next time.
>>17295844
mostly these days I see rednecks with big subs in their bubba tanks blasting rap, however I try to stay away from the nigger sides of town where I'm sure it's still common
>>17295795
only in second hand stores and pawn shops
I could pick up some nice gear if It did not look so thrashed old and stolen
Early next year I plan to get an Audi S4 in grey similar to the one in this photo. Now I love this car I love the sleeper factor and I'm in love with it. But I wanted to hear some of your guy's opinions. Ik I could get a C43 AMG but mercedes can become expensive to maintain. And thats another thing I'm going to ask. I plan to keep this S4 for 5-7 years or possibly more. Will it last me?
>>17295749
thats a chick car youll never gonna get any pussy riding in that shit heap
Ive always bought vag cars and there pretty bulletproof aslong as you keep up to maintenance, loads of easy mods for them too
idc if its a chick car. I personally want performance and reliability.
You guys trust these things to work under? They're on sale at Wally World.
yeah I usually buy a couple sets and stack them on top of each other to get my car really high up.
Yes only cars though, haven't failed me. Easy to use just get wheel chocks for the back tires
Should be fine. Just be sure to put something really solid under the car as well just in case they cave in or something.
>Have your ever seen a bad accident or come close yourself?
I ran over a homeless woman one night coming home from work. Was in a bad area so I didn't stop.
Haha

Did he survive?
>Volvo
>SJW Tier
Idk bro, S90, V90 and XC90 are pretty based. Polestars are also cool novelty items.
SJWs can't afford Volvo

What's your least-favourite thing to see in your rear-view mirror when you're stopped at a light?
Mine is a front loader with pallet forks.
A texting teenager girl driving mommy german entry level luxury car.
Some dude who has to dive to the side to avoid rear ending me.
Someone hellbent on not driving in the middle of the lane but rather straddling the middle of the road when it's dark hence shining their lights right in my drivers' side mirror.
Cunts

Who's leather package is better Honda or Toyota?
Acura leather is fake.
>>17294990
As a detailer I can tell you that Honda leather just doesn't hold up over time. I've seen too many fucked up honda/acura interiors. Toyota's isn't great either, but it is better than Honda's.
>>17294990
Acura is only an American and Canadian brand
Its shit slightly up market Honda models and not new cars

If you're not using all three pedals at the same time, you're not driving.
>>17294763
Huh. I always used my heel on the brake and toe to blip the throttle, just seems easier for me. Am I autistic for this?
I used to do it all the time in my old shitbox with a cable clutch and a carb.
Current car doesn't have the pedal feel to pull it off as easily.

dw i just side by side my massive feet.
Are there scaled functional engines you can buy? i like cars and all but the main thing i like is how the engine and transmission works but dont really like the idea of buying an old car and just taking the engine out of it at my house to mess with because the weight the size and such but a scaled engine or transmission would be neat to take apart and put together again even if that does sound childish
anyone know of anything like what im describing? is this a stupid or childish thing to want?
is it probably just best to buy an old harley v2 and mess with it?
>>17294675
they exist but are PRICEY!
Also a harley twin is a horrible engine to take home and tinker with. It is an amazing abomination of old and new tech with many bits still being done in worse ways because of nostalgia.
I would recommend getting a cheap harbor freight horizontal drive engine if you want to mess around.
Pull a geo metro engine out at the junkyard
Get a shitbox with a blown head gasket, a socket set, and a harbor freight engine crane.
