>padded armor everywhere
>except for the cockpit hatch, the most important part of the robot
Why
>>14968655
and the hatch is red
Adding any more armor to that general area would just make access more difficult. Besides which, the cockpit isn't the most likely place to be hit given the difficulties in aiming at a moving target at distance. It's also likely that the pilot isn't directly behind the hatch regardless.
>>14968655
The additional weight would surpass the opening mechanism's weight limit.
Ryouji: Katsuragi, it's me.
I'm sure you're listening to this message after I have
caused you a lot of trouble. Sorry.
Please say "I am sorry" to Ritchan.
And there's one more thing to trouble you with.
I've been taking care of flowers.
I'd be glad if you could water the flowers for me.
Shinji-kun knows where they are.
Katsuragi, the truth is with you.
Don't hesitate. Go forward!
If I can see you again, I will say the words that I could not
say 8 years ago. Bye.
Misato: A telephone which doesn't ring...
On BUSINESS
Sorry, but don't call me.
Shinji: Misato-san's shutting herself up today, as usual.
Authorized Personal ONLY
If you enter without my permission, you shall die!
Eintritt Verboter!
Shinji: Asuka... she isn't coming back today?
Hikari: She doesn't go to school or home,
she plays games all day.
Asuka: Hikari, let's go to bed.
Hikari: Yeah.
-----------------
Asuka: Sorry, I'm inconveniencing you.
Hikari: No, you're not.
Asuka: I didn't win with Eva.
I lost all my values at any places.
I hate, I really hate, I hate everybody,
though it's myself who I hate most.
I... now I don't care about anything,
I have nothing to do.
Hikari: I think that you can do anything you want to.
I don't blame you.
I really think you've done well.
Asuka: [weeping.]
Since Macross takes forever to make new entries and seeing how underwhelming Delta was, I'm finally considering getting into the Gundam franchise. I know damn well I must watch the series in production order but is their a list of bad shows I MUST avoid at all costs?
>>14968559
>is their a list of bad shows I MUST avoid at all costs?
Nigger you made this thread damn well KNOWING that this is just going to be a bunch of man children screaming "shit taste" at each other over subjective opinions.Zeta is trash.
>>14968559
Try everything. Have fun.
>>14968559
>avoid at all costs
None of them. Watch them and form your own opinions. If you only watched shows that no one on /m/ says are shit, you'd have nothing to watch.
Also, if you liked original SDFM you're going to love Gundam. The only thing you'll find similar to 7's tone will be G Gundam, and the only place you'll see aliens will be 00 (though there's a single fossil found on one of jupiter's moons in SEED). I recommend starting with 0080: War In The Pocket. It's movie-length, it's concise and well plotted, and it's the right time of year (much of /m/ watches it every christmas). The original Mobile Suit Gundam series does have dated 1979 animation but the story is outstanding and the dub is recent and excellently done. If you only watch one Gundam show, make it that one.
And beware of the people who tell you to skip shows in favor of movies. Movies always cut out most of the story of the series and, unlike Do You Remember Love, the Gundam movies are primarily the same footage as the shows.
So what's the general consensus on the original Gundam TV series vs. the movie trilogy? Which is the superior work?
The TV series. The narrative was designed as 39 self-contained episodes which form into a big picture.
Zetafags prefer the movies because they remove many interesting parts of the show and turn it into a boring generic space opera with bad pacing.
They're both good and you should watch both.
Hey /m/, what's a game I could play where I feel like I'm in a war?
Preferably not mechwarrior stuff since I prefer Jap mecha designs. But preferably not as over the top as Super Robot Wars.
Turn Based, Real time or Action I dont care. Just want mecha in war scenarios.
>>14968237
well what systems do you have(and how strong is your computer), that will help us figure out some options
>>14968243
You can throw basically anything at me, I dont have every console but if it's good I'd prioritize getting one for it.
I also have access the all playstation consoles which is what I'd assume most recommendations would be on. And a pretty low tier PC that will be upgraded soon enough.
>>14968257
Calladoody Infinite Warfare, Aaron Beck designed a bunch of stuff for that game, so if you like his style it could be good.
There's also Titanfall 2.
Hi /m/, can I stay here just for the night?
>>14968114
Sorry, I don't want refugees
>>14968114
Get the fuck outta here
The LP OST for the "Cool Cool Bye" OVA by Tomonori Kogawa arrived in the mail yesterday alongside some other rare albums I ordered, and included with the OST was a 4-page booklet containing some art from the OVA. The art looks pretty cool, so I'm uploading them here if anybody's interested in viewing them.
If anybody has some other artwork based off something that Tomonori Kogawa worked on (Dunbine, Ideon, etc.) that they would like to share here, feel free to do so.
Is the intense hatred for Diebuster mostly because the approach and attitude of it is very different compared to Gunbuster?
>>14967698
From what i've seen, it's because the original was a very straight forward anime, then diebuster came along and was more in the vein of FLCL. It's not something you can get 100% on the first watch, which was a weird directorial choice following such a simple little ova. So I guess in a way you're right.
It also just isn't as cohesive as the original and honestly just fails side by side. It'd be one thing if really digging into the world of Diebuster gave it some sort of hidden meaning, but it doesn't. It's just needless fluff that really could've been presented to the viewer in a more straightforward way and nothing would have been lost.
Also this is /m/ and Diebuster isn't 2 decades old yet, therefor real /m/en don't like it. Had a catching opening song though.
Well, I would say that fan did expect Gunbuster 2 to be visually exactly like Gunbuster at its best and they expected the plot to be a continuation or a new "aim to the top" with variation.
Instead Diebuster was visually unappealing, it traded retro-tech for magi-tech and it didn't depict the rise of a girl from 0 to hero, but the reverse : girls who were beyond the top were actually nothing and descended to hell when the robot turned out to be a Gunbuster.
I consider the story very interesting but I can entirely understand the dislike for the art style.
Obligatory pic
Added bullshit like moeblobs and fan-service to a franchise completely free of such cancer.
Because of course they would combine!
In the end I don't think restarting the broadcast really improved the quality but it was still a pretty decent show overall.
Cute girls and giant robots are always a winning mix.
It was boring.
>>14967495
Sadly, I agree: It's boring as fuck.

Such words...
Have you praised our Lord and Saviour today?
I'M SPACE WOMAN
Why is it not trolling when people shit on AGE, but it is trolling when people shit on Zeta?
As far as I'm aware, AGE was much better than Zeta.
>>14966397
you assholes are just getting lazy
>>14966400
What part of what I just said is b8?
AGE is better than Zeta, no question about that.
- I won't call you by the name of Quattro anymore, Char.
>One day later.
- What's up Quattro ?
Fuck Zeta, Tomino and UCfags. Even Valvrave is better.
So... is it still not subbed yet?
MOYASE MOYASE IKARI WO MOYASE
>>14965569
Still not subbed. Unfortunately.
>>14965569
Mecha gets no love in the anime world.
Let's just ignore these old classics so that we can sub the latest moeshit five times over under different groups, and then fellate it repeatedly because it has some 'deep' LN meta nonsense. Hurrah 2016.

***READ THE GUIDE***
For those new to gunpla/plamo or even just new to this thread; please read the guide. Please read it before asking questions, as there is a chance it has already been answered there.
For those unfamiliar, "plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model". If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here!
If you're new, you're gonna fuck up. Don't worry! If you're experienced, don't make the new people worry!
>Why won't anyone answer my question?
Try being specific, especially about your materials and process. Post pictures whenever possible; even if the kit/part looks bad, you are more likely to get help posting pictures.

***Graze Group Build***
Rules:
Pick any 1/144 or 1/100 kit from the Graze family (Pic Related), and paint and customize it. As far as customizing it, I'm going to place a limit on that. The limit is 50% additions to the kit.
To define 50%, look at it like this, you could take a Graze Ritter and replace the arms (including shoulders), legs, and backpack and I'd call that 50%. I'm not counting handheld bits in that. If you're unsure of something please ask in IRC, the thread, or email.
Start Date: 12/1/16
Due Date: 2/1/17
Submissions go to
[email protected]
Submission format
Please submit photos in jpg via a compressed file (zip, rar, or 7zip), please don't link images to imgur or photobucket or the like. Please also include some WIP photos of the kits being constructed/painted/etc as validation that it's your custom.
