Okay, so I fell for 2 memes...
I got hooked on the magpul BAD lever and really love the trigger finger bolt catch, but:
>I also fell for the side charging meme, pic related, which has a small bolt catch cut out.
Is there an ambi bolt catch that keeps the same profile as the mil spec, but hooks around into the trigger guard?
Sorry for the rotated picture, Steve jobs is anti-gun
One last bump

Phase 5 will work.
alright guys, I'm trying to find an this one greentext that I saw here quite a while back. it was about some anon that was, or knew this naval technician that had to deal with a big naval ship that got run into a sand bank because it was released from refit before the river got dredged
aparrently it was a carrier, or some sort of reactor powered ship, (or just a larger one in general) that was docked for refit or repairs of some kind up a river, or in a bay somewhere on the gulf of mexico. I believe it was in Louisiana, but I don't recall it that well.
The captain and other higher ups wanted to launch a ship as soon as possible, despite warnings from advisers that the river/bay hadn't been dredged recently, and was scheduled to do so just before they normally would have launched. the ship hits some sand bars and debris and sucks up a large amount of sand and junk into the engine cooling intakes. the techs have to do something like, two allnighters in the engine room, that was quite hot because of what was going wrong.
aparrently they managed to open up the pipes to clear them, and out poured this sludge of sand, garbage, and rotted, heated fish. they manage to fix the engine while dealing with this sludge and the ship gets underway without much issue. the higher-ups try to cover over them mess and fix things on their end. one of them decides to have the ship cooks make the engineers an nice dinner for them in apology. it turns out that the cooks made a seafood and shellfish dinner, and the techs demanded or got leave to go ashore so they could get McDonalds.
my google-fu is a bit poor, but I dug around in a number of places and I can't find the story. if any of you guys have a cap of it, I would love it.
in the meantime i'll just post my assorted /k/ memes and gunporn

Hey /k/ommandos, I just got a MechTech carbine kit for my Glock 19
Does anyone else here have one?
Is there anything special I need to know about cleaning and caring for it?
I'll also answer any questions I can
I was thinking about getting one of these to go with a Polymer 80 lower.

Interesting
a regular 9mm AR upper is probably gonna be cheaper tho
I bought it to make good use of my 30rnd glock mags
Any of you know someone who does Scuba in any branch? Interested in doing something related.
What are some good books/PDFS on fitness requirements for SEALS, Rangers, so on? I know many coaches who peddle "warrior crossfit" or such labels, but i dont really trust them.
I ask here and not on fit because the documents are purely from a military source. Im an athlete, not a soldier, but I do recognize the great athletic potential of special ops groups.
>rite now I can do 40 burpess a minute, 90 jumping squats in 70 seconds. Some sites say you need 100 J.S. in 3 minutes, but I don't trust that claim
>http://navyseals.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/naval-special-warfare-physical-training-guide.pdf
this gives some training advice..but doesn't explain the actual fitness requirements.
>>34266532
If you want the fitness requirements for joining yourself then don't bother with push-ups and other PT shit. Just do a basic barbell training program and interval training for conditioning.
America freedom is the ability to have weapons, is a people layers of revelarce and which the government should not play.
Why would they allow them to be deprived of that right, for safety?

If you're asking what i think you're asking, it's the hipsters concentrated in cities deciding what rights the rest of the people in the state do and don't need. Case in point NYC and New York state, two completely different political climates and demographics.
Will an AR15 carry handle mount fit a Famas? I've looked everywhere for a Famas rail mount and I can't find them anywhere that will ship to the US.

Who else here fell for the spare mags meme? Reloading mags at the range in the coldest cold of winter sucks, and being able to quickly practice mag changes makes low-cap range rules tolerable.
Any recommendations for Shield 9 magazines holsters? I've just been keeping one or two spares in my pocket, but I'd like to be able to have them on a belt (my biggest belt is 2" wide).
Post magazine hoards and carry methods.

Of course you're aware of the balisong (or butterfly knife), whose folding handle aids in concealment; and you've probably seen a knife that looks like a ballpoint pen, but are you familiar with the Mexican saca tripas? Used for gutting sheep... and other warm-blooded animals.

What do you goys think about 3d printed guns? Got any designs?
>>34265506
You're just 3D printing a frame. You still need metal working for every other part so it doesn't really matter. They haven't made it considerably easier to make ghost guns. They just made it possible to make lighter ghost guns.
>>34265506
They're a meme. Guns created through additive manufacturing processes are a meme. If you want a computer to make you a gun, use a CNC mill.
They're a pain In the fucking ass to make. Lost many a parts and recievers to warping and offset layers.
That said, theyre fun to build. Really fucking fun to shoot.
Really frustrating when it doesnt work or breaks.
