Any swissfag here?

>tfw fell for the Stgw 57 meme

So basically I decided to take up sports shooting and joined a shooting society.

I bought a Stgw 57 in good condition (had a gunsmith check it) and went to a few shooting events last week.

One of the things the guy told me was that the Stgw 57 has a problem where it can develop cracks in the receiver. Once there's a crack it will spread until the rifle is bust, and they won't even let people with a rifle in that condition use the rifle for sports events due to safety concerns.

Guess what? My Stgw 57 developed a crack (or at least I think it's one) in the receiver after shooting several hundred rounds last week. It wasn't there when I got it.

Here's a picture. You can see the hairline crack spreading from that round thing.

What do you guys think? Is it a crack?

Any ways, I'm thinking of getting a PE90 now, not sure if I should get a brand new one or a used one.

Anyone aware of this problem?

You should've got a PE90. I dont get why people still buy Stgw57 for serious use.

And yes anon, it is a crack. But you can let it repair. Here for example: http://www.hollenstein-waffen.ch/werkstatt.html

They seem to be specialized in exactly that kind of problem (watch the vid).

I would not get a used PE90, since most of the used ones are already having 4000 rounds through them. Rather get a new one.

Should you kill your dog if SHTF? My dog can follow some basic commands like sit, come, kiss, jump, etc. but I don't really see him helping me survive.

My dog can sit, lay down, and paw. She is the ultimate fighting machine.

He can run faster, further, can smell much more over much longer range, and can hear for miles when inna woods. If he can be trained to stfu and not bark constantly, youd be dumb to get rid. You wint be getting snuck up in with a competent dog at your side

It's what center axis relock would look like on a diet of dick. So, Holywood stance.

Why did Vikings use axes? Aren't swords much better overall?

Does anyone know what gun it was that was designed basically as a response to the guy in the regan assassination attempt video fucking with the stock of his gun to get it open? It was something that would take a lot less time to deploy

>>
This question is completely incoherent. WTF are you asking?
>>
I'm guessing you mean some kind of suitcase gun? I can think of the Magpul FMG-9, it's quite off from Reagan though
>>
>>33735700
I am pretty sure I saw this on Ian's channel or somewhere.

In the video where the guy tries to assassinate reagan there is a SS guy who spends like 30 seconds trying to deploy the stock on his Uzi. I am pretty sure Ian or someone else did a video on a guy that was designed because someone saw how long the SS guy was taking and wanted a gun that would be quicker to bring to bear for protecting VIPs

Mosin Safety...

So I just became aware this was a thing. My question is...was this a designed safety or just a fluke in the design? I ask because it is so hard to engage....but at the same time the bolt seems to be designed with a level of grip to allow for this.

>>
>>33735537
It was designed that way. Similar to other rifles of the era.

It's been said that it's similarities to 5.56x45mm would make it quite easy to produce, especially in those factories.
From what I've read it doesn't have too much of a downside to other pistol rounds.

Shit caliber that's bad at everything except low recoil automatic fire at a close distance and against less than level 4 body armor.

Something else does almost everything it does better.

because there's very few guns that take it and are also commonly available.

because NATO

also, the world needs more PDW options in general, but particularly with 7.62x25 and .30 Carbine

someone told me to make sure my new AK I recently bought, "a zastava NPAP" to check to make sure it has "no feeding issues".
What exactly is a feeding issue? This is my first rifle like this, so I don't exactly know what to look for specifically.

>>
>>33734967
You'd have to atleast cycle your gun to find out
>>
load a bunch of bullets in a salt clip, stick it in the gun and rack the bolt a bunch of times to see if it feeds and ejects properly. don't ride the bolt, pull it all the way back and let it go, repeat
>>
Feeding means inserting cartridges inside a chamber

Why do some old fucks act like they are pissed with young people at gun shows when in reality, when they were the same age as those kids, they too admired guns? You always see old bitter fucks at gun shows and it doesn't make sense since they are there to SHOW.
